1. Removing Main Grille and Lower Fascia 1.1 Run a line of low tack masking tape across the front of the bumper below the grille to prevent any accidental damage to paintwork. 1.2 Open the hood and then remove 4 screws clip (may be push clips) across top of main grille assembly. 1.3 Gently pull the top of the grille forward, locate the 4 spring clips securing the back of the grille to the bumper and carefully pry loose using a large flat blade screwdriver. The image to the left shows the locations of 4 clips behind the grille. The image to the right shows how to pry off the clip with a large flat blade screwdriver 2
1.4 Pull upper grille forward and gently remove. 1.5 Remove 3 of the 4 small hex head screws across the inside lip of the front of the bumper assembly. Note, the 4 th (far left) stays in place to hold the bumper in place. NOTE: Leave far left hex head screw in place to secure front bumper while working on the driver s side bumper grille. This will be removed later to work on passenger s side bumper grille (Once far right screw is refitted). NOTE: For main grille only installation jump directly to section 3. 1.6 Laying under the front of the car, remove the 4 large plastic flat screw clips from the center lower fascia assembly, then gently pull forward and remove. 3
1.7 Laying under the car, remove the 6 center star head bolts (2 at front, 4 set back) and 4 outer (2 per side) Philips head screws. 2 front star head bolts 4 rear star head bolts 2 Philips head screws on each side in front of wheels 2. Installing STRUT Bumper Grilles Driver s Side 2.1 Start the vehicle and turn the steering wheel full lock to right so that the driver s side wheel facing inward. *Note: alternatively front wheels can be removed if using a lift. 2.2 Remove the two Philips head screws from the front inner wheel well and remove the plastic clip from the top of the front inner wheel well. Then gently pull back the plastic wheel well liner, carefully unhooking it from the inside of the fender. Carefully unhook the plastic wheel well liner from along the inner lip of the fender 2.3 Remove the two Philips head screws from inside of the front bumper. 4
2.4 Loosen (Do not remove) the two hex head bolts from inside wheel well along the seam where the bumper joins the fender. Loose the two bolts underneath the two captured nuts shown here 2.5 Gently pull the corner of the bumper out from the seam of the front fender, unclipping the 4 plastic clips along the inside lip. 2.6 With the corner of the bumper sitting proud of the fender, remove the two Allen head bolts from behind the bumper grille assembly. Remove the two outer Allen head bolts, do not remove any of the center screws in the assembly 5
2.7 Release the 4 plastic tabs from behind the center light cover of the bumper grille assembly and gently pull forward. Note only the center light cover is removed. The outer grille piece and light remain in place. 2.8 Take the STRUT driver s side lower grille assembly and slide threaded shafts through the two existing holes in the bumper grille. Note: Check that the spacer nuts on the threaded shafts are making contact with the mounting plastic on the bumper and ensure precision and flush fitment. Adjust accordingly. 2.9 Install nuts onto back of threaded rods, checking alignment and fitment. 2.10 Refit front bumper and wheel liner by reversing steps: 2.5, 2.4, 2.3, 2.2 and 2.1 2.11 Replace the far right hand hex head screw on the inside lip of the bumper, then remove the far left hex screw. Replace the far right hex head bolt Then remove the far left hex head bolt Leave the two center bolts out at this stage. 2.12 Start engine, turn steering wheel to opposite lock and repeat all steps in section 2 on passenger side. 6
3. Installing STRUT Main Grille and refitting lower fascia NOTE: For LED Installation see section 7 before proceeding. 3.1 Carefully align STRUT grille with front bumper, ensuring 4 rear plastic clips on rear of grille align with slots on bumper, then push firmly to locate clips. 3.2 Replace the 4 plastic screw clips across the top of STRUT grille. Replace the 4 screw clips then remove tape from along front lip of grille 3.3 Reinstall the lower fascia by reversing steps 1.6 and 1.7 2 front star head bolts 4 rear star head bolts 2 Philips head screws on each side in front of wheels 7
4. Installing STRUT Side Vents 4.1 Using a plastic paint scraper carefully pry off side vent, starting at the top right hand corner and easing out clips. Tip: Wrap the end of the paint scraper with masking tape and tape along edge of joint to avoid paint damage. 4.2 Below is a picture of how you will receive the STRUT side vents. To begin install remove side ventmounting bracket by removing 2 top screws and 1 bottom screw. Screws to remove to detach the side vent-mounting bracket 4.3 Install the side vent-mounting bracket behind fender using supplied Philips head screws. There are 3 mounting locations; 2 at the top of the bracket and 1 at the bottom corner. 8
4.4 Hold the fiberglass side vent up to the fender aligning the holes attached to the side vent with the 2 holes in the bracket attached to the fender. Once alignment is perfect remove backing from double sided tape. (STRUT suggests using the supplied double sided tape on dealer show room collections but once sold remove parts and replace double sided tape with silicone.) Tip: If the side vent needs to move forward or back to fit in the fender properly there is play in the top of the small side vent molding bracket. 4.5 Using the 2 supplied screws and a Philips head screw driver place screws through mesh and 2 brackets and tighten. 9
4.6 Remove backing from double sided tape on side vent extension. (STRUT suggests using the supplied double sided tape on dealer show room collections but once sold remove parts and replace double sided tape with silicone.) 4.7 Using a straight edge, carefully align the top edge of the extension with the main side grille assembly, also ensuring alignment with the door gap before allowing the tape to make contact with the door. 4.8 Check alignment alongside of vehicle and door clearance during opening before pressing on firmly. 4.9 Repeat steps 4.1 through 4.8 on the other side. 10
5. Installing STRUT Hood Vents 5.1 Using a plastic paint scraper, gently pry up front corner of vent and lift out. 5.2 Remove 3 of the OEM spring clips from the back of the factory hood vent, being careful not to bend or damage them, then refit them onto the back of the STRUT side vent. 5.3 Ensure the area under the grille is clean and then align the 3 clips and push the STRUT hood vent into place. Tip 1: Use supplied doublesided tape under corners of STRUT hood grille for ultrahigh integrity installation. (STRUT suggests using the supplied double sided tape on dealer show room collections but once sold remove parts and replace double sided tape with silicone.) 5.4 Repeat steps 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 on the other side. Tip 2: When installing on light colored vehicles use the vinyl black decals to apply to the car before installing the hood vent 11
6. Installing STRUT Lift Gate Fascia 6.1 Using medium weight fishing line, gently pull through behind decals on both sides of rear lift gate and remove. Clean off any remnants of adhesive using a non-abrasive, paint-safe cleaner such as Goof Off, and then remove any wax or oils with Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol). 6.2 Remove backing from double sided tape from STRUT Lift Gate Fascia, then carefully align top edge of side piece with trim and gently lower ensuring edges are straight and gaps are even. Press on firmly. (STRUT suggests using the supplied double sided tape on dealer show room collections but once sold remove parts and replace double sided tape with silicone.) 6.3 Repeat steps 6.1 and 6.2 on the other side. 7. Installing STRUT LED Kit 7.1 Remove 3 thumbscrews retaining front plastic cover on passenger side at front of engine bay and lift off. 12
7.2 Feed the wiring loom (bare wire and eye connector end) from front left side next to the horn assembly through the gap next to the radiator cowl until there is approximately 18 remaining at front of vehicle. Remainder of wire should be directly behind passenger side headlight. 7.3 Remove ground terminal from passenger side engine bay and feed through the eye connector of STRUT LED wiring loom, refit and retighten. 7.4 Unplug multi-pin plug from back of passenger side headlight. Using a razor blade, gently cut along and peel back approx. 2 of outer insulation, being careful not to cut through insulation on wires. 13
7.5 Locate purple and orange wire in loom and fit pass-through side of supplied wire joiner over it. 7.6 Feed red wire of STRUT wiring loom into blind side of wire connector and then clamp on splicing terminal with needle nose pliers and then close plastic insulator. 7.7 Re-plug headlight multi-pin plug. 14
7.8 Plug two connectors at end of STRUT loom into connectors on back of STRUT grille. Turn headlights to on position and check that both LED strips are both working. 7.9 Replace plastic cover and refit thumbscrews. 15
