The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the Accessory Installation Practices document. Socket (10 mm), Ratchet 1. Vehicle Preparation (Fig. 1-1) a. Apply parking brake. b. Protect fender before starting. c. Remove the negative ( ) battery terminal. Fig. 1-1 CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during removal. d. Using the protective blanket, cover front seat, side of the shift lever and center console. e. Place removed vehicle components on a protective blanket. Panel Removal Tool 2. Vehicle Disassembly. a. Remove bezel next to shifter assembly. 1. Using your hands or appropriate plastic trim removal tool, disengage the clips and remove (Fig. 1-2). NOTE: Use protective tape in any pry area if panel tool is used. Fig. 1-2 Phillips Screw Driver Protective Tape b. Remove climate control assembly. 1. Remove the Phillips screw on the lower right side (Fig. 1-3). NOTE Use protective tape in the area shown in the photo. Fig. 1-3 Page 4 of 13

Panel Removal Tool 2. Use panel removal tool or hand to carefully disengage clips and remove (Fig, 1-4). 3. Unplug any connectors and set aside. Fig. 1-4 10 mm Socket/Ratchet w/ Swivel Adaptor c. Remove radio assembly. 1. Using a 10 mm socket with swivel adaptor or similar, remove two (2) bolts from the lower right of the radio. 2. Remove two (2) bolts from the lower left of the radio (Fig. 1-5). Fig. 1-5 Fig. 1-6 NOTE: Pay special attention and use multiple layers of protective tape in the area marked by the arrow. 3. Disengage clips and pull radio out (Fig. 1-6). NOTE: Support the radio on a support box (or with other appropriate means) to prevent any damage to the connections as well as preventing scratches. 4. Disconnect all connectors. Page 5 of 13

Panel Removal Tool 3. BLU Logic Switch Installation a. Remove driver side scuff panel. 1. Disengage with panel removal tool. Remove and set aside (Fig. 1-7). Fig. 1-7 b. Remove driver side kick panel. 1. Unscrew plastic lock nut (Fig. 1-8). Fig. 1-8 Panel Removal Tool 2. Disengage with hands or appropriate panel removal tool and remove (Fig. 1-9). NOTE: Start on the side of the weather striping. Fig. 1-9 Page 6 of 13

10 mm Socket/Ratchet c. Remove lower finish panel. 1. Remove bolt on lower left panel with a 10mm ratchet/socket (Fig. 1-10). NOTE: Weather stripping was removed for visual purposes only. Removal during installation is not required. Fig. 1-10 Phillips Screwdriver 2. Remove one (1) Phillips screw on lower right side (Fig. 1-11). Fig. 1-11 Panel Removal Tool 3. Using panel removal tool or hand, carefully disengage panel and remove (Fig. 1-12). 4. Disconnect any connectors. NOTE: Use care on area around knee air bag. Fig. 1-12 Page 7 of 13

d. Mount BLU Logic switch. 1. Remove far left blank knock-out (Fig. 1-13). 2. Squeeze lock tabs together and push out. NOTE If far left blank plug is not available, use next available blank plug. Fig. 1-13 3. Insert BLU Logic switch with solid triangle facing up (Fig.1-14). Fig. 1-14 Side Cutters e. Route BLU Logic switch cable (highlighted in blue) under dashboard. Follow existing wire looms (Fig. 1-15). CAUTION: To avoid injuries, be careful when routing wire behind sharp metal brace. 1. Remove slack from switch wire and wire tie (circled in Fig. 1-15) every 5-6 inches. NOTE: DO NOT attach to YELLOW SRS wire loom. Fig. 1-15 2. Connect to BLU Logic switch. 3. Reinstall driver side finish panel. Page 8 of 13

Phillips Screw Driver 4. Microphone Installation a. Remove instrument panel bezel. 1. Remove two (2) plastic Phillips screw clips (Fig. 1-16). NOTE: These only require a 1/4 turn to release. Fig. 1-16 2. Using your hands, disengage the six (6) clips from the top of the steering column cover and remove. NOTE: Start from the center and work outwards to pop up. 3. Use your hands, disengage bezel from the bottom right corner (Fig.1-17). Fig. 1-17 b. Mount the microphone. 1. Slightly peel back rubber guard on instrument bezel to tuck the microphone wire (Fig. 1-18). Fig. 1-18 Page 9 of 13

2. Clean the bezel with approved VDC cleaner. 3. Mount the rear of the microphone (location of wire) towards the left edge of the bezel to minimize the amount of exposed wire visible to the customer (Fig 1-19). Fig. 1-19 ~5-10 mm 4. 0-8mm of exposed wire is acceptable. 5. The microphone should be approximately 5-10 mm from the bottom of the bezel. Cluster 1. Go through the opening of bezel towards the lower right side (Fig. 1-20). c. Route microphone wire. NOTE: Place the steering wheel all the way out to assure steering wheel movement will not be restricted by the wire connections. Operate tilt/telescopic steering column to full travel to ensure wiring is not pinched or pulled. Fig. 1-20 2. Continue over towards the opening of the radio cavity (Fig. 1-21). 5. Interface Module Installation a. Connect all connectors to the back of the interface module including switch and microphone connectors (Fig. 1-22). NOTE: The Red connector is connected to the matching Red connector on the module. Fig. 1-22 Side Cutters 1. Mount the interface module to the cross brace directly under the radio. NOTE: DO NOT remove protective foam wrap from module. 2. Use wire ties to secure the module as shown (Fig. 1-23). NOTE: Wire ties highlighted in yellow. 3. Cut off any excess wire ties. Fig. 1-23 4. Connect main power harness to vehicle s matching radio harness (Fig. 1-24). b. Connect main power harness connectors to the radio s matching connectors as needed. Fig. 1-24 Page 11 of 13

c. Bundle excess microphone and switch cables (highlighted in blue). Use wire ties (highlighted in yellow) to secure to main power harness (Fig. 1-25). d. Reinstall radio assembly NOTE: AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector may not be present on the vehicle s harness. Wire tie this connector to the harness unconnected, but ALWAYS connect the AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector into the radio. Fig. 1-25 Fig. 1-26 If AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector is present on vehicle harness, connect to jumper provided with BLU Logic unit. If any other accessories are installed that connect to the head unit, BLU Logic should be the unit that plugs into the radio first. e. Reinstall instrument panel bezel f. Reinstall kick panel g. Reinstall driver scuff panel h. Reinstall HVAC assembly i. Reinstall bezel next to shifter assembly j. Position negative battery terminal at the original factory position (tighten the nut to 36 in-lbs (4.07 N.m). CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during installation. k. Put owner s manual inside the glove box. 6. Apply BLU Logic decal to BLU Logic switch. (Only kits manufactured on or after the date code on the front page will include the BLU Logic decal). a. Remove the protective backing on the round portion of the BLU Logic sticker (Fig. 1-26). b. Apply it to the center of the switch so that the sticker hangs towards the right as shown in Fig. 1-27. CHECKLIST these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Make sure radio and interior lights (if applicable) are turned off. Install fuse (short pin) for the following function checks. Accessory Function Checks Check: Factory Radio Interface Kit Audio Output Look For: Turn on the radio and verify that the BLU Logic Module will mute the audio. With the radio on, press the middle button on the BLU Logic switch and verify that the audio is muted. Verify the proper connection of the Interface kit by pressing and holding the middle button on the switch until you hear one (1) beep. NOTE: If any other accessories are installed that connect to the head unit, BLU Logic should be the unit that plugs into the radio first. Turn the radio to an AM or FM station and then turn the balance to the L and confirm the audio is coming from the left front speaker. Repeat for the right front speaker. Vehicle Function Check Vehicle Function Vehicle Function Detail Audio AM/FM Verify the proper operation of audio AM/FM. Hazard Switch Verify the proper operation of the hazard switch. HVAC Verify the proper operation of the air conditioning system. NAV System (if equipped) Confirm navigation operation by AVN diagnostics. Operation of the L&R Seat Heater Switch Verify the proper operation of the L&R heater switch. SRS Warning Light Confirm SRS warning light illuminates for approximately 6 seconds with the ignition ON, and then goes out. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Prior to TPMS activation and Pre- delivery Service (PDS) of the Vehicle the TPMS light will blink when IG is turned on. After TPMS activation and PDS of the Vehicle the TPMS light will illuminate for a few seconds and go off when IG is turned on. Turn off all components including radio and interior lights. Remove fuse (short pin) after function checks are complete. Check with your dealer/port to find out if this step is required. Kit Service Information Item: Location: 1 3-Amp in-line Fuse The fuse is located behind the HVAC controls. To replace, follow Step 1 through 7 to access the fuse location. NOTE: If the fuse is blown, the Hands Free BLU Logic will not turn on. Page 13 of 13
