The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the Accessory Installation Practices document. Socket (10 mm), Ratchet 1. Vehicle Preparation (Fig. 1-1) a. Apply parking brake. b. Protect fender before starting. c. Remove the negative ( ) battery terminal. Fig. 1-1 CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during removal. d. Using the protective blanket, cover front seat, side of the shift lever and center console. e. Place removed vehicle components on a protective blanket. Panel Removal Tool 2. Vehicle Disassembly a. Remove the HVAC assembly. 1. Apply protective tape to the bottom of the HVAC assembly. 2. Remove the lower console by hand or appropriate panel removal tool (Fig. 1-2). NOTE: Make sure all four (4) clips remain attached. Fig. 1-2 3. Disconnect any connectors. Panel Removal Tool b. Loosen the instrument bezel. 1. Apply protective tape to the panel left of the instrument bezel. 2. Using appropriate panel removal tool, disengage the left of the bezel (Fig. 1-3). Panel Removal Tool 3. Apply protective tape to the panel below the bezel. 4. Using appropriate panel tool, disengage the lower right side of the cluster bezel (Fig. 1-4). Fig. 1-4 5. Using your hands, gently disengage the HVAC assembly (Fig. 1-5). 6. Gently pull back on bezel to allow clearance for HVAC removal. DO NOT remove the bezel. NOTE: Be careful not to but too much tension on the bezel connectors. 7. Disconnect all connections on the HVAC assembly and remove. Fig. 1-5 Socket (10 mm), Ratchet c. Remove the radio assembly. 1. Remove four (4) bolts on the bottom of the radio using a 10mm socket/ratchet (Fig. 1-6). Fig. 1-6 Page 5 of 11

2. Support the radio on a support box (or with other appropriate means) to prevent any damage to the connections as well as preventing scratches. NOTE: Be careful not to put too much tension on the radio connections when pulling out the radio. 3. Remove the radio and unplug all connectors (Fig. 1-7). Fig. 1-7 3. Interface Module Installation a. Remove the center speaker grill. 1. Using your hands, reach through the opening of the radio and disengage the clips and remove (Fig. 1-8). NOTE: Push on each of the six (6) clips from the bottom side during removal. Fig. 1-8 Utility Knife ~10-20mm Harness Side b. Cut a hole in the protective foam. 1. Using appropriate cutting tool, carefully cut a hole in the foam approximately 10-20mm from the top and sides of the edge. (Fig. 1-9). NOTE: This will be the mounting location for the microphone. ~30-40mm Fig. 1-9 ~10-20mm Page 6 of 11

2. Connect the main wire harness to the interface module (Rollover Image). NOTE: The Red connector is connected to the matching Red connector on the module. 3. Loosely mount using four (4) wire ties: (1) wire tie in forward corner, left hand side, (1) wire tie in forward corner right hand side, and (2) wire ties connected together around center of the module. Cut off excess ties (Fig. 1-10). NOTE: This is the location of the center speaker (speaker will not be present). BLU Logic wire ties in Figure 1-9 and the remainder of these instructions will be shown in yellow. 4. Microphone Installation a. Mount the microphone. 1. Clean the mounting location with VDC approved cleaner. 2. Mount the microphone (highlighted in blue) forward of the wire tie and visually centered (Fig. 1-11). b. Route the microphone cable. Fig. 1-11 1. Route the microphone cable down towards the interface module. Side Cutters 2. Connect to the interface module. 3. Remove microphone slack and bundle excess cable and secure to an existing wire loom with a wire tie (Fig. 1-12). 4. Cut off excess wire ties. Fig. 1-12 Page 7 of 11

5. BLU Logic Switch Installation - Option I NOTE: Check to see if an open knock-out is available on the HVAC assembly. If all knock-outs are occupied, skip to Step #6. If knock-outs are available, proceeded with Step #5 and skip Step #6. a. Route BLU Logic switch. 1. Route cable (highlighted in blue) up through the opening of the HVAC assembly (Fig. 1-13). Fig. 1-13 NOTE: Make sure to route through the opening marked by the yellow arrow. 2. Connect to the interface module. b. Mount the BLU Logic switch. 1. Remove knock-out (2nd to left) on HVAC assembly. NOTE: If switch location is occupied, please use any open knock-out in the HVAC assembly. 2. Mount the switch with the solid white arrow pointing up (Fig. 1-14). Fig. 1-14 3. Connect to the BLU Logic switch cable. Side Cutters 4. Bundle up excess switch wire and secure to existing wire loom and the plastic frame with wire ties circled in Fig. 1-15. NOTE: If the knock-out had a factory harness connected to it, wire tie this connector together with the excess switch wire to the factory harness. Fig. 1-15 5. Support the HVAC on a support box (or with other appropriate means) to prevent any damage to the connections as well as preventing scratches. Page 8 of 11

Fig. 1-16 Fig. 1-17 6. BLU Logic Switch Installation - Option II NOTE: Skip this step if Switch Option I was used. a. Mount the BLU Logic switch. 1. Remove the blank plug on shifter bezel assembly (Fig. 1-16). NOTE: If the knock-out had a factory harness connected to it, wire tie this connector together with the excess switch wire to the factory harness. 2. Mount the switch with the solid white arrow pointing up. b. Route the BLU Logic switch cable. 1. Route the switch cable through the opening of the radio, down towards the switch location (Fig. 1-17). 2. Connect to the switch and interface module. 3. Bundle up excess switch cable and secure to existing radio wire loom. 7. Finalize the Installation. a. Connect the main power harness to the radio s matching connectors as needed. NOTE: AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector may not be present on the vehicle s harness. Wire tie this connector to the harness unconnected, but ALWAYS connect the AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector into the radio. If AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector is present on vehicle harness, connect to jumper provided with BLU Logic unit. If any other accessories are installed that connect to the head unit, BLU Logic should be the unit that plugs into the radio first. b. Reinstall the radio assembly. c. Reinstall the HVAC assembly. d. Reinstall the cluster bezel. e. Reinstall lower console panel and center speaker grill. f. Position negative battery terminal at the original factory position (tighten the nut to 36 in-lbs (4.07 N.m). CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during installation. g. Place Owner s Manual in glove box. Page 9 of 11

8. Apply BLU Logic decal to BLU Logic switch. (Only kits manufactured on or after the date code on the front page will include the BLU Logic decal). a. Remove the protective backing on the round portion of the BLU Logic sticker (Fig. 1-18). Fig. 1-18 b. Apply it to the center of the switch so that the sticker hangs towards the right as shown in Fig. 1-19. NOTE: Photo shown may not match the switch installation location for this vehicle and is for illustrative purposes. Fig. 1-19 Page 10 of 11

CHECKLIST these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Make sure radio and interior lights (if applicable) are turned off. Install fuse (short pin) for the following function checks. Accessory Function Checks Check: Factory Radio Interface Kit Audio Output Look For: Turn on the radio and verify that the BLU Logic Module will mute the audio. With the radio on, press the middle button on the BLU Logic switch and verify that the audio is muted. Verify the proper connection of the Interface kit by pressing and holding the middle button on the switch until you hear one (1) beep. NOTE: Pairing the module to a phone is not required. This is the customers (or dealers) responsibility. Turn the radio to an AM or FM station and then turn the balance to the L and confirm the audio is coming from the left front speaker. Repeat for the right front speaker. Vehicle Function Check Vehicle Function Vehicle Function Detail Audio AM/FM Verify the proper operation of audio AM/FM. Hazard Switch Verify the proper operation of the hazard switch. HVAC Verify the proper operation of the air conditioning system. NAV System (if equipped) Confirm navigation operation by AVN diagnostics. Left & Right Seat Heater Switch (if equipped) Verify the proper operation of the L&R heater switch. SRS Warning Light Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Confirm SRS warning light illuminates for approximately 6 seconds with the ignition ON, and then goes out. Prior to TPMS activation and Pre- delivery Service (PDS) of the Vehicle the TPMS light will blink when IG is turned on. After TPMS activation and PDS of the Vehicle the TPMS light will illuminate for a few seconds and go off when IG is turned on. Turn off all components including radio and interior lights. Remove fuse (short pin) after function checks are complete. Check with your dealer/port to find out if this step is required. Kit Service Information Item: 1 3-Amp in-line Fuse Location: The fuse is located behind the radio assembly. To replace, follow Step 1 through 7 to access the fuse location. NOTE: If the fuse is blown, the Hands Free BLU Logic will not turn on. Page 11 of 11
