Service and Parts Guide: Matrx Central Scavenger Waste Anesthetic Gas Disposal System Applies to Models: All veterinary anesthesia machines. warning Equipment is not suitable for use in the presence of a flammable anesthetic mixture. Technician s Diagnostics Guide Condition Check Solution Central Scavenger will not run. Is there a blown fuse? Replace blown fuse with 200 mamp, Slo-Blo type. 2. Is the fan s operation impeded by dirt/dust buildup?. Is there adequate voltage output at the power supply? - Output voltage to fan should be 2 VDC. Clean fan. Replace the fan. Check facility power source circuit and electrical outlet. Replace a faulty power supply. 4. Is the On/Off switch working properly? Replace the On/Off switch. Vacuum level too high (extracting excessive amounts from anesthesia machine) or too low (not scavenging gas). Note: Test vacuum levels at each Scavenging Hose port using manometer supplied with unit. Follow instructions printed on the manometer. Vacuum levels registering outside of the pass bands on the manometer indicate that service is required.. Is the fan s operation impeded by dirt/dust buildup? Clean or replace fan as necessary. 2. Is the ventilation duct work blocked? Clear outside vent of dirt, snow and all debris, including bird, rodent and insect nests.. Is the cover in place on Central Scavenger enclosure? Cover must be in securely closed to operate properly. 4. 5. Are all unused vacuum ports and access holes in Central Scavenger enclosure tightly sealed? Ensure that vacuum trunk lines and ventilation duct work does not exceed specified lengths. (See Installation manual for more information.) 6. Check vacuum levels at each port with the manometer. 7. Is the vacuum inlet assembly check valve facing downwards? 8. Is the vacuum inlet assembly check valve obstructed? 9. Is the vacuum inlet assembly check valve s disc moving freely and is the knife edge of the Seat Exhaust Valve clean? All vacuum ports and the enclosure trunk line access holes must be securely capped to operate properly. Arrange equipment so that it is within the recommended maximum duct and trunk line lengths. Add another Central Scavenger to service equipment that is outside the recommended maximum duct and trunk line lengths. Increase or decrease the Central Scavenger vacuum level by adjusting the sliding panel on bottom of enclosure. Recheck all vacuum levels with manometer after making adjustments. The vacuum inlet assembly check valve must face downwards to operate properly. The vacuum inlet assembly check valve must be open and unobstructed to operate properly. Disassemble the vacuum inlet assembly check valve and inspect parts for wear and functionality. 0. Is the pop-off valve on the anesthesia machine working properly?
