New Astra Hatchback introduction We are pleased to announce the launch of the New Vauxhall Astra 5-door. This new model is the seventh generation of the Astra, which continues to be one the UK s top-selling and best-loved cars. With over 2.9 million Astras already sold in the UK over the last 36 years the New Astra, based on an allnew lightweight vehicle architecture with a new design, powertrains and technology, is poised to take sales well past the 3 million mark. UK order banks will open on the 17th June 2015 with the vehicle being fully unveiled at the Frankfurt Motorshow on the 15th September and vehicles starting to arrive at Retailers from October 2015. New Astra Hatchback support terms This is a new vehicle and as such will not be subject to current Astra support terms. Please contact your Vauxhall Sales Manager to confirm new terms. New Astra Hatchback key highlights Exterior Styling Inspired by 2013 s Monza Concept, the lean design makes the new Astra look more athletic than ever before thanks to work carried out by a design team led by Brit Mark Adams. Evolution of the Vauxhall design philosophy sculptural artistry meets technical precision ensures that the new Astra catches the eye with a lighter, more agile appearance. The front of the car has a very strong and imposing look and the front headlamps melt into the radiator grille to form a graphic unity. The Griffin in the centre of the chrome bar on the grille and the characteristic blade raising towards the rear make the new Astra immediately recognisable as a member of the Vauxhall family. The most significant design cue is the divided C-pillar, creating the impression of a floating roof. The interplay of light and shadow is emphasised by the horizontal crossbar above the brand logo linking the rear lights.

Interior Styling The high-quality cockpit and the instrument panel seamlessly transfer the characteristic and aesthetic exterior design to the interior, ensuring that a new interior design generation is introduced in the new Astra. It features a clean look which includes a large colour touchscreen in the centre stack and a reduced amount of control switches and buttons. New Astra Interior Elite New Astra up to 200kg lighter than its predecessor and on average 130kg lighter As well as featuring a new generation of engines that are lightweight and powerfully responsive new Astra has an advanced body shell with a significant weight reduction compared to its predecessor. There are also a significant number of other weight optimisation measures that have helped new Astra reduce weight; it now uses lighter exhaust systems because the new engines are so smooth and refined that the silencers can be smaller. The weight reduction provides a whole host of benefits; new Astra is more agile with better handling, fuel consumption is improved, CO2 emissions are reduced and new Astra s overall running costs are considerably lower.
Powertrain The new Astra has an impressive powertrain portfolio including petrol and diesel units ranging from 100PS to 200PS. The complete range of engines are available to order from launch, however, the start of production for some of the engines will be later in 2015 or early in 2016 and the availability for each engine is shown in the Price / Specification Guide. New Astra features a brand new generation of petrol engines, the entry level engine is a new 1.4 100PS four cylinder unit, which is mated to a five speed gearbox. We are pleased to announce the introduction of the new 1.0 litre ECOTEC direct injection Turbo engine that was first seen in new Corsa and set a new standard for 3-cylinder engine refinement. The 1.0 Turbo engine in new Astra produces (105PS) and the five speed manual version has CO2 levels starting from only 99g. There is also an Easytronic version, which has a class leading CO2 of only 96g/km. Another highlight of the engine range is the all-new 1.4-litre ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo, a four-cylinder unit from the same family as the one-litre, three-cylinder engine. There are two versions, one offering (125PS) and a more powerful (150PS) version that delivers maximum torque of up to 245Nm, There is also a petrol engine range topping 1.6 SIDI Turbo producing (200PS) and providing up to 300Nm of torque. The diesel engine offering starts with the 1.6 (110PS) Whisper Diesel with CO2 emissions from 95g/km and combined fuel consumption up to 78.5mpg. We are also excited to announce that starting production in January 2016 is an ecoflex version with start/stop that has a provisional CO2 from only 82 g/km. The 1.6 (136PS) Whisper Diesel engine is also available mated to either a 6 speed manual transmission or 6 speed automatic and a new 1.6 Bi-turbo diesel engine providing (160PS) and 3560Nm of torque tops the diesel range. Full engine details, start of production timings and specification can be found in the Price and Specification Guide. Vauxhall OnStar The new Astra is the first new Vauxhall model that will be available with the personal connectivity and service assistant OnStar from its launch. OnStar offers customers a broad range of safety and comfort services. If an airbag deploys, OnStar will be alerted automatically. An advisor will then contact the vehicle to determine whether help is required. If there is no response, emergency responders are immediately sent to the exact location of the vehicle. Drivers and passengers can reach OnStar 24/7 and 365 days a year. No matter whether they need roadside assistance or any other service an OnStar advisor is always ready to help.
