Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 3 IN 2014 CHOPARD BECAME THE OFFICIAL TIMING PARTNER OF PORSCHE MOTORSPORT People say that lovers of fine cars also have a great weakness for fine timepieces and vice versa. In both cases, sporting elegance and outstanding performance are especially important. The words spoken in 1988 by Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele himself a dedicated car enthusiast upon launching the first Mille Miglia collection ring as true today as ever. The brand s participation in many famous rallies embodies a unique relationship between Chopard and racing. The close ties between these two worlds have been strengthened ever since, largely due to the impressive number of common denominators that naturally draw them together. These include constant innovation, a tireless quest for performance and excellence, unfailing respect for traditions, the supreme importance of details and of course a shared passion for mechanical engineering. In 2014, as a logical extension of its longstanding commitment to automotive sports, Chopard became the proud Official Timing Partner of Porsche Motorsport, which then reaffirmed its historical supremacy in 2015 by winning its 17 th victory in Le Mans. The winning series continued in the following year, when the Porsche 919 Hybrid No.2 crossed the finish line first and ensured the 18 th victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, an absolute record in the history of the prestigious endurance race. Chopard is delighted to present in the following pages both the Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Edition unveiled last year in Le Mans and the new Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Jacky Ickx Edition.

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 4 Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 5 CHOPARD & CLASSIC RACING, A TRUE PASSION One of the special things about family companies is that the passions of those who run them are inevitably revealed in the products they create. These passions represent sources of inspiration serving as a prism through which the products take shape and the ranges are built. The Classic Racing collection stems from the passion nurtured by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele for historical cars and for motorsports in general. He is himself a collector of historical cars and a keen competitor in classic rallies. He enlists his own vehicles in the famous Mille Miglia and drives them himself, alternately accompanied by his wife or his good friend Jacky Ickx as co-driver. This year, he will be teaming up with Le Mans winner and reigning World Champion Romain Dumas. His father, Karl Scheufele III, Chairman of Chopard, also regularly takes part in the competition. This personal connection between the brand and one of the most well-known historical car races in the world dates back to 1988. A penchant for performance and speed, a passion for mechanics and tradition, a love of details and of fine workmanship are all key character traits that have guided the creation of this fascinating collection. A range that also highlights the many close affinities between the world of watchmaking and that of automobiles whether it comes to precision in timing a race or in adjusting a movement; the readability of a dashboard or of a dial; or the extremely powerful ties between a driver and his car, as well as between a man and his watch. The Classic Racing collection is composed of timepieces featuring a design echoing that of sports cars: elegant yet sporty, sleek and daring. Their mechanical qualities are matched by those of the speed machines that inspire them: reliability, sturdiness, and a level of precision attested by a chronometer certificate issued by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 7 PORSCHE MOTORSPORT AND CHOPARD A legendary team in the world of motor racing, Porsche Motorsport has decided to partner with Swiss watchmaker Chopard for its grand comeback to competition in the FIA World Endurance Championship with its Porsche 919 Hybrid. United by shared values such as a constant quest for performance and excellence, Porsche Motorsport and Chopard are sealing a partnership that is based on a passion for motor racing. Born of a common aspiration towards reliability and innovation, the exceptional mechanical masterpieces developed in the workshops of both Porsche Motorsport and Chopard have created an unmistakable impression on their respective worlds. As a result, the two brands remain a benchmark among devotees of motorsports and watchmaking.

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 8 Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 9 24 HOURS OF LE MANS SUCCESSES PORSCHE AND MOTORSPORTS Porsche has been successful in many branches of motorsport and primarily in long-distance races. Despite its early involvement being limited to supplying relatively small engines to racing underdogs up until the late 1960s, by the mid-1950s Porsche had already tasted moderate success in the realm of sports car racing, most notably in the Carrera Panamericana and Targa Florio, classic races which were later used in the naming of road-going cars. The 1969 Porsche 917 turned the manufacturer into a powerhouse, winning in 1970 the first of over a dozen 24 Hours of Le Mans, more than any other company. With the 911 Carrera RS and the 935 Turbo, Porsche dominated the 1970s, including in the sports prototypes category in which it entered the successful 936, 956 and 962 models. Le Mans is the most famous long-distance race in the world, marked by sportsmanship and a quest to make automobile history. The Porsche 917 is considered one of the most iconic racing cars of all time and gave the German manufacturer its first 24 Hours of Le Mans win in 1970. The history of Porsche Motorsport is inseparable from another motorsports legend: Jacky Ickx. A longstanding Chopard ambassador, Monsieur Le Mans, six-time winner of the trial, scored four of his Le Mans victories at the wheel of a Porsche. 17 years after its previous victory, Porsche achieved the feat of winning the Le Mans race twice in succession. 18 OVERALL PORSCHE WINS IN LE MANS 1970 Hans Herrmann / Richard Attwood (Porsche 917) 1971 Helmut Marko / Gijs van Lennep (Porsche 917) 1976 Jacky Ickx / Gijs van Lennep (Porsche 936) 1977 Jacky Ickx / Jürgen Barth / Hurley Haywood (Porsche 936 77) 1979 Klaus Ludwig / Bill Wittington / Don Wittington (Porsche 935 K3) 1981 Jacky Ickx / Derek Bell (Porsche 936 81) 1982 Jacky Ickx / Derek Bell (Porsche 956 C) 1983 Vern Schuppan / Hurley Haywood / Al Holbert (Porsche 956 C) 1984 Klaus Ludwig / Henri Pescarolo (Porsche 956 C) 1985 Klaus Ludwig / Paolo Barilla / John Winter (Porsche 956 C) 1986 Hans-Joachim Stuck / Derek Bell / Al Holbert (Porsche 962 C) 1987 Hans-Joachim Stuck / Derek Bell / Al Holbert (Porsche 962 C) 1994 Yannick Dalmas / Hurley Haywood / Mauro Baldi (Dauer Porsche 962 LM Sport) 1996 Manuel Reuter / Davy Jones / Alexander Wurz (Joest TWR Porsche WSC 95) 1997 Michele Alboreto / Stefan Johansson / Tom Kristensen (Joest TWR Porsche WSC 95) 1998 Laurent Aïello / Allan McNish / Stéphane Ortelli (Porsche 911 GT1) 2015 Earl Bamber / Nico Hülkenberg / Nick Tandy (Porsche 919 Hybrid) 2016 Romain Dumas / Neel Jani / Marc Lieb (Porsche 919 Hybrid)

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 10 Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 11 SUPERFAST, THE PERFECT BODYWORK FOR PORSCHE MOTORSPORT Superfast models are generously sized while displaying bold lines and a resolutely virile design. Equipped with specially decorated in-house movements, they are intended for devotees of fine watchmaking capable of taming the inevitable feeling of power they procure. The models carry a number of references to the world of competitive car racing, starting with the dial displaying brushed silver-toned vertical lines against a black background, evoking the cooling fins found on air-cooled racing engines. On the inner bezel ring of the Superfast watches, the minutes numerals adopt the appearance of the markers that adorn sports-car rev-counters and speedometers. The hours, minutes and seconds counters provide the legibility required in tense situations. Equipped with a folding clasp, the natural rubber strap carries the smooth tread of the slick tyres immediately identifiable with high-speed track motor racing, a world referenced by a multitude of other elements such as the Classic Racing collection s steering wheel logo on the rubber-moulded crown, the grooves engraved on the sides of the lugs and continuing the Superfast s cooling-fin theme, rubber-coated pushers for a better grip, as well as the Allen screws on the bezel inspired by those on car-wheel rims.

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 12 Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 13 POWERED BY CHOPARD IN-HOUSE CALIBRES The sporty, sophisticated, powerful and imposing Superfast timepieces are equipped with Chopard movements from the Fleurier Ebauches workshops. These exceptional creations represent a further step along the path towards independence an ideal deeply cherished by Chopard. The Fleurier Ebauches workshops were founded by Chopard in July 2008 in Fleurier, in the Val-de-Travers region (Canton Neuchâtel) in order to produce in-house movements for Chopard. Several months earlier, in December 2007, Chopard had acquired a 6,000 m 2 plot of land that already housed an industrial building with a 5,100m 2 production surface area. Entirely renovated and equipped with stateof-the-art machinery, the new company premises were inaugurated in February 2009. Similarly to the watches themselves, the movements have been specially prepared for racing. All the bridges are open-worked with thin parallel lines in the style of cooling vents on sports cars an unusual finish which allows the inner workings of the movement to be tirelessly admired through the transparent case-back.

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 14 PORSCHE 919 LIMITED EDITION In 2014, on the occasion of Porsche s return to Le Mans, Chopard unveiled a special Porsche 919 limited edition based on the Superfast Chrono bodywork. Its dial echoes different details of the Porsche 919 Hybrid, which competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship, with the additional cross-cuts between the vertical grooves recalling the design of the rear diffuser. Stamped with the 919 logo at 9 o clock, the silver colour is reminiscent of the prestigious Porsche colour. The black and red touches perfectly match the hybrid race car. On the back, the Official Timing Partner Porsche Motorsport logo proudly appears on the sapphire crystal. Thanks to this arena case-back, the Chopard movement and its exclusive open-worked bridges can still be easily admired. This exceptional model is of course a limited and numbered series of 919. Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 15

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 16 Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 17 SUPERFAST POWER CONTROL PORSCHE 919 HF EDITION Above and beyond these similarities with the Porsche 919 Hybrid, the Superfast Power Control Porsche 919 HF Edition is an integral part of the Superfast collection. Its broad 45 mm diameter makes it a distinctive chronometer, dedicated to racing aficionados and drivers. This new limited edition is equipped with a movement chronometercertified by the COSC: The Chopard Calibre 01.11-M. The turbochargers of the Porsche 919 Hybrid are maintained at optimal rpm by an electric engine, thus enabling maximum acceleration. In much the same way, Chopard Calibre 01.11-M operates at the ultra-high 8 Hz frequency that Chopard is the only watchmaker to use and master. Just like the Porsche 919 Hybrid, which regularly sets new energy efficiency records, the Superfast Power Control Porsche 919 HF Edition flaunts its running time of 60 hours, whereas its energy-consuming high frequency would normally have implied reduced autonomy. Sophisticated fine-tuning has enabled Chopard to maintain this generous power reserve in form of a fuel indicator. One of the outstanding signatures on the dial is the letter H with an arrow sign characterising Chopard high-frequency watches. The distinctive white-on-red number 919 is a special characteristic referring to the Porsche 919 Hybrid that inspired this 100-piece limited series.

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 22 Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 23 SUPERFAST CHRONO PORSCHE 919 BLACK EDITION This chronograph with its imposing, avant-garde design, is inspired by the new Porsche 919 Hybrid from the German team which, after a triumphant 2016 season, is already eyeing 19th world championship title in 2017. The Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Black Edition, issued in a 100-piece titanium series, flaunt a modern style combining intense black with white and red detailing. It is equipped with a movement chronometer-certified by the COSC: Chopard Calibre 03.05-M. Witness the imposing 45 mm-diameter case made in titanium an ultra-light material much favoured in the world of endurance racing that is bead-blasted, blackened by a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) treatment ensuring an extremely scratch-resistant coating, and water-resistant to 100 metres. The grooves on the case middle evoke the cooling fins of racecar engines, an exclusive finish reflected in the straight lines of the dial reminiscent of the Porsche 919 Hybrid s rear diffuser. The red 919 logo appearing on the hours counter is identical to the numbers of the Porsche Hybrid competition cars.

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 26 Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 27 JACKY ICKX LIMITED EDITION Jacky Ickx is one of the most fascinating racing drivers of the 20 th century. His career is impressive not only in terms of his many victories, but also because of the large variety of disciplines in which this exceptional sportsman distinguished himself. These included Formula 1 motor racing, car rallies, and above all the endurance races that forged his formidable reputation especially after winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans race six times, a feat that earned him the nickname Monsieur Le Mans. This gifted driver is also a gentleman who has made his mark on the automobile world thanks to his fair-play and elegance. It was thus in tribute to both his human and professional qualities that Chopard chose to create a limited edition bearing his name. RACING RECORD Formula 2 European Champion in 1967 116 Formula 1 Grand Prix races, with 8 victories and 2 Formula 1 World Drivers runner-up spots in 1969 and 1970 15 participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race and 6 victories Two World Endurance Championship Drivers titles in 1982 and 1983 Victory in the Paris-Dakar rally in 1983

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 29 1969: FIRST VICTORY IN LE MANS... DOWN TO THE WIRE! The 240,000 spectators are in the grandstands, the cars are lined up at an angle on one side of the track and all the drivers are preparing to rush to their speed machines and hop in. All, except one. To protest against this type of start that he views as dangerous and pointless within the context of a 24-hour race (with drivers hurtling off at dizzying speeds without buckling their safety belts, a precaution sometimes not taken until the end of the first relay stage), the Belgian driver decides to walk to his GT40. For Jacky remembers only too well the accident suffered by Willy Mairesse the previous year when he was caught in a hydroplaning tyre spin on Les Hunaudières straight. Without the restraint of a safety belt, Willy had been thrown from his car and severely injured. At 2 pm on June 14 th 1969, Ickx therefore strolls across the track of the 24 Hours race, as the other drivers sprint ahead in order to jump into their cockpits. Two turns of a watch dial later, the Belgian wins the Le Mans race by the narrowest margin in its history: 120 metres. Never has the French expression rien ne sert de courir, il faut partir à point literally meaning that there is no point running when what really counts is a timely start been so brilliantly demonstrated. A page in the history of Le Mans was thus turned and the rules were modified the following year to feature drivers already seated in the lined-up cars.

Superfast & Porsche Motorsport 33 THE PORSCHE 919 HYBRID 2017 MISSION: FUTURE SPORTSCAR Embodying a continuous quest for improvement, the new Porsche 919 Hybrid is equipped with a wide range of new innovations. Based on the new WEC specifications, only two aerodynamic packages are being deployed, especially focusing on minimising air resistance. The two energy recovery systems of the hybrid drive have been improved and for the 2017 version, the electric drive components are more powerful and efficient than ever. The chassis structure of the Porsche 919 has been further developed, whereas the hybrid drive concept with its two-litre V4 turbocharged petrol engine remains unchanged. The most important features of the new 919 Hybrid at a glance: Hybrid system: KERS with a motor generator unit (MGU) mounted on the front axle; ERS for recovery of energy from exhaust gases.
