WINNER 2010 Best Charity or Cause-Related Event Vendor Pack
About the Million Paws Walk Introduced in 1996, the Million Paws Walk has become a well-loved and hugely popular event. This event provides the RSPCA with the opportunity to fundraise, grow public awareness, communicate key messages and to give something back to a community that has provided so much loyal support. In 2011, an estimated 19,000 people attended 16 Walks across the state. In 2012 the number of Victorian Walks will increase to 18. The key to the success of this event comes from providing animal lovers with an opportunity to do something fun and simple that will have a big impact on the lives of thousands of animals. Australian households are home to over 38 million pets and there are over 907,000 pet dogs in Victoria (Australian Animal Companion Council Inc 2007). Participants across the country are able to come together in a Walk, which raises money through registrations and sponsorship, and enjoy a day of entertainment.
