This is an intermediate mechanical skill install. You will most likely have to adjust the shift cables to ensure your trans shifts into gears. If you are unsure how to do this task, please call a professional. When installing fasteners, use serviceable thread locker to insure they stay tight longer unless the fastener has a Nyloc nut. * If anything is missing, please contact us before disassembling your car If you are using stock cables, you will need our optional rod end kit
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 2 of 14 1. Remove passenger and driver seats using a 6mm allen. 2. Remove shift knob. You may have a set screw at the front or one hiding under a Lotus logo depending on the style. 3. Remove handbrake handle by loosening the (2) 2.5mm set screws on the underside. 4. Remove armrest by removing (2) T-30 torx screws on the underside. 5. Remove the HVAC panel by carefully prying it upwards to release (5) clips. (Clips shown in picture to the right) 6. Unplug the harnesss, cut the zip tie holding the boot to the reverse lockout collar, and remove HVAC console assembly. 7. Remove the two screws near the rear of the gear lever aperture that are securing the parking brake level surround. Unhook the rear end of the surround and remove the boot and surround. 8. Remove the 3 screws securing the console top panel, and pull the rear part of the panel upward, it is held on with clips. Unplug the 12V outlet. 9. Remove the (4) philips screws securing the top surfaces of the console sides together. Remove the (3) screws securing each of side s lower rear flanges to the floor channel. Pull away the front end of each side panel to release two spring steel clips.
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 3 of 14 10. Undo the bolts holding the front of the stock shift assembly in place. 11. Unbolt two rear bolts from rear section of shifter assembly 12. Disconnect and remove handbrake cable from assembly 13. Disconnect shifter cables from shifter. 14. Remove 4 screws from shift cables guide block. Make note of block orientation. Set aside for reuse during reassembly 15. Disconnect parking brake sensor. This will be reused during reassembly 16. Remove stock shifter assembly 17. Position baseplate to mark drill locations. a. First bolt down plate at front two locations b. Mark three points as shown in picture. i. Point 3 is hidden in picture. It is located between the handbrake brackets c. Remove baseplate d. Drill and set Nutserts provided in Kit H 18. Verify holes line up with baseplate
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 4 of 14 19. Grab the Crossgate Assembly. a. Make sure the main bolt and nut are snug not too loose or too tight. If they are loose, then there will be play in the assembly. If they are too tight, the assembly will not rotate properly. Please check this for proper operation. Call us if you have any questions. 20. Ensure that the bolt for the reverse lockout stop is adjusted so the stop is at an acute angle. If not, unscrew the allen bolt and tighten the jam nut 21. Install the reverse lockout cable into the crossgate assembly. Insert the side with the ball and spring. a. If there is a lock nut, please remove it. 22. Installing Reverse Lockout Cable. Get Kit G a. Note 1: If the cable won t go through the threaded hole, check for burrs on the crimped ball. If you find burrs, file them smooth until the ball passes through b. Note 2: The cable housing only needs to be screwed in finger tight. It will not back off and you will be happy if you need to take it off later.
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 5 of 14 23. Loosely install brace plate onto crossgate assembly with (4) #8-32 x 5/16 button head bolts using a 3/32 allen. b. Kit F 24. Set this assembly aside for now. 25. Install the crossgate assembly onto the base plate. a. Remove the two #10-24 X ½ counter sunk bolts from the base of the cross gate assembly b. Slide the spherical bearing on the CG assembly onto the CG pin attached to the shift arm. c. From the bottom of the base plate, install (2) #10-24 x 1/2 counter sunk bolts that you removed above. Use serviceable thread lock on these.

Install IK-100 LiftTube Insert threaded cable end through hole and secure with small nuts Place both lock nuts on top of pin as shown in picture CAUTION: these nuts are easy to lose! 27. Install cable housing onto retainer and adjust out slack. 28. Install shift knob. a. M10 gearknob required 29. Test reverse lockout operation. If more travel is needed, lower the collar that is attached to the shaft with a setscrew. Note: Only a small amount of travel is needed. Too much travel will unseat the cable end from the reverse lockout stop.
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 7 of 14 30. Bolt in Baseplate a. Install (5) M8 bolts and washers in the remaining holes in the base plate. Reuse two stock bolts + 3 provided in Kit H b. Tighten all mounting bolts at this time. 31. Install handbrake cable guide onto left hand handbrake plate using (1) 10-32 x ½ screw and a washer between the plate and guide. a. Kit B & J
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 8 of 14 32. Loosely install hand brake switch onto this panel. (Picture on next page.) 33. Loosely install (2) 5/16 flat head bolts and slide on (2) spacers. 34. Install Handbrake Cable Bracket: Kit K a. Leave hardware loose
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 9 of 14 35. Reconnect hand brake cable to hand brake mechanism. 36. Place handbrake mounting plate into the car and slide the handbrake mechanism onto the 5/16 bolts. Ensure the spacers are between the handbrake mechanism and the mounting plate. *image above is NOT Evora bracket.
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 10 of 14 37. Attach left hand plate to the tab on the base plate. The plate sits INSIDE the tab. Use (2) ¼-20 x ¾ button head bolts. a. Do not tighten at this time. 38. Install cables into cable guide block with original orientation. a. Gear Shift cable on top b. Cross Gate cable on bottom. 39. Attach block to left hand handbrake plate with (2) of the stock screws 40. Route cables as shown. a. GS cable goes OVER handbrake cable guide. b. CG cable is at the front c. Handbrake cable goes between GS & CG cables.
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 11 of 14 41. Tighten all bolts a. Remember to install rear stock bolts for handbrake brackets both sides b. Tip: Use a paint marker to indicate that a fastener has been tightened.
Evora shiftr111 installation Rev. B Page 12 of 14 42. If using stock cables, thread new M6 rod ends onto the ends of them. a. This is an optional kit 43. Attach Gear Shift cable using a M6 x 22mm bolt. 44. Attach Crossgate cable using a M6 x 35mm bolt, washer, nut, and spacer. Note: You may have to adjust the length by screwing the rod ends in or out. 45. Adjust cables a. Ideally, the gear shift will be straight up and down and there should be no preload on the crossgate spring in either direction. b. Adjust the cables at the transmission end if you run out of adjustment at the shifter. 46. Adjust the reverse lockout stop set screw. a. The goal is to be able to move the gear shift all the way to the left then go straight up into 1 st or straight back into 2 nd. 47. Make sure that the shifter goes into 3 rd and 4 th when pushed and pulled from the neutral position. a. Adjust crossgate cable as necessary. b. Make sure Reverse engages smoothly 48. Trim inner rib on right side console trim panel. a. This must be clearanced so that the crossgate mechanism does not rub upon reinstallation of trim panel b. Test fit to insure clearance
