LIMITED WELD CLASS RULES EVENT RULES -All drivers must fill out an entry form. Everyone requesting a pit pass must sign a release waiver. Entry fees & pit passes are non-refundable. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age & hold a valid state driver s license. Drivers under 18 years of age must have parents present and must sign parental consent waiver. No drugs or alcohol permitted in pit area. Any misconduct or breaking of the rules will also result in disqualification at the discretion of the officials. All entrants must pick up trophy & earnings at the completion of the event or be subject to forfeiture. OFFICIALS DECISIONS ARE FINAL! RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANYTIME! VEHICLE TYPE -Any American made hardtop, 2 or 4 door, automobile or station wagons is permitted. No trucks, jeeps, ambulances, hearses, limousines, 1973 & older Chrysler Imperials, 4x4 s, or utility vehicles. No sedagons or wedge cars permitted. COMPETITION RULES -Drivers must wear helmet, seat belt, eye protection, & long pants/sleeves at all times. Drivers must remain in the vehicle & wearing a helmet at all times in the competition area. Driver s door hits are illegal. If the hit is deemed careless or intentional, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED! Any door that comes open will result in disqualification. You are allowed one fire and restart. A second fire will result in disqualification. Sandbagging is NOT tolerated and grounds for disqualification! You must make contact every 60 seconds. Any vehicle smoking excessively or leaking fuel will also be disqualified. Boundaries must be maintained at all times. All cars must have dependable brakes. Each driver/car is only allowed 1 re-inspection. Only driver & 1 crew member permitted during inspection. All vehicles subject to post derby inspection! GENERAL PREPARATION -All glass; including windshield, side & rear windows, head & taillights must be removed. Rolling down windows is NOT permitted. Sunroofs must be covered with sheet metal and properly secured. -All exterior chrome moulding, hubcaps, emblems, wiper arms, plastic grilles, outside door handles, and plastic or fiberglass header panels must be removed before entering grounds. -All carpeting, interior moulding, rear seats, headliners, inner door panels, and any other

flammable material must be removed before entering grounds. Dash boards are optional. Vehicles MUST be swept free of all debris. -You must have a maximum of two (2) pieces of rebar/all-thread/chain/#9 wire/2 wide strapping from cowl to roof in driver s view of windshield (sheet metal to sheet metal only). One (1) rear window is permitted. Maximum 2 wide strapping/diameter/angle and be welded or bolted (sheet metal to sheet metal only) with 5 x5 end plates. -No component may be mounted, welded, or bolted within six (6) inches of Distributor Protector. CAGE & DOOR BARS -It is highly recommended that a 4-point type safety cage be placed in driver s compartment. Bars not to exceed 4 diameter, square or angle. 1 bar across dash and 1 bar behind seat. 2 adjoining bars, perpendicular to dash and seat bar, to attach them together. End plates not to exceed 12 square. Bars must be securely welded. Bars may not attach to frame or floor in anyway. NO KICKERS OR DOWNLEGS! -Roll-over bar is permitted and MUST BE ATTACHED TO SAFETY CAGE ONLY! NO ANGLING OF ROLL-OVER BAR! Bars not to extend forward past dash bar nor extend further back that kick panel/rear decking area. -Gas tank protectors ARE permitted. May not exceed 24 width. Must be centered between frame rails and attach to back seat bar and may be wedged against rear packing shelf. Must not be welded, bolted, or attached in any other way to packing shelf. Must be 6 off floor. -All bars must remain behind firewall. No cage material may attach to floor or frame in anyway. DRIVETRAIN -Engine, transmission and rear end swapping between manufacturers is allowed. They may be welded or bolted in place. Do not strengthen frames, cross members, or bodies with engine or transmission mounts. Engine oil coolers are allowed. No skid plates but you can double up your transmission and oil pans. Plates used may be no bigger than 1 wider than the factory transmission or oil pan they are welded to. Mopars are allowed to remove pucks to K member and bolt it tight to frame with stock size bolts only. -Aftermarket Distributor protectors, cradles and pulley protectors are allowed. You may beat flat the engine side of the firewall. Do not re-enforce the firewall/cowl. Distributor protectors must be attached to engine or transmission only. Back side of protector must be no wider than 16 inches. Transmission coolers may be used. Coolers must be secured in a container in the passenger compartment of the car. Floor shifters allowed. No transmission protectors/braces, ultra bells or aftermarket steal bell housings allowed. Slider drive shafts allowed. You may use any type of rear end (Ford / Mopar / GM / Hybrid) you may run 8 lug or floater rear ends. No part of rear end may strengthen the car s frame or body. Rear end braces are allowed, but they may serve no purpose other than to strengthen the rear end housing. They may not extend from the rear end further than 6 and may not be higher than the top of the axle tube. Trailing arms may be boxed and reinforced. Coil spring cars may use square tubing for trailing arms they must be in factory location (2 x 2 square tubing max.) You may tilt the rear end by lengthening or shortening the trailing arms. Watts link cars may be converted to 4 link suspension in the following ways: (a) Use a factory 4 link package tray and lower control arm mounts from an older car, welded with a single pass, and installed in a factory manner. No doubling of package trays or frame rails. (b) Homemade/aftermarket brackets may be used provided they are not used as reinforcement. Upper brackets may be attached with max of 6 - ½ bolts each side. They must be 2 separate brackets. Lower brackets may be bolted or welded. Do not position brackets to strengthen the front down legs of the rear hump. Mount them in the stock locations. Oversized brackets will be cut down.

FRAME & BODY MOUNTING -Body mount hardware and bushings may be replaced with 5/8 bolts with 3" top and bottom metal washers. Body may be bolted directly to frame. DO NOT welded body to frame. Do NOT weld the body washers to the floor or frame. All washers must be free floating. Body bolts and washers must remain inside the frame with the exception of the front two radiator support bolts. Radiator support bolts may be 1" diameter. Support bolts may go thru the hood and count as 2 of your 6 hood bolts. A 1/8 thick washer, max 3 x 3 may be welded to top of radiator support for bolt to travel thru. -The only frame seam welding allowed is from the front of the a-arms forward, top only, no more than a ½" wide bead. Buick, Olds, and Pontiacs may fill the large hole in the frame behind the radiator support. This must be a butt fit and no thicker than 1/8" plate may be used. Y-frame Mopars only may plate the front Y's with no thicker than 1/8" plate of plate. PLATE IS NOT TO GO ANY FARTHER THAN 1/2" PAST THE OPENINGS ON TOP AND BOTTOM OF FRAME NO PLATE IS TO BE ADDED TO SIDES OF FRAME! - 73 and older C channel Gm and Ford/Lincoln sedans may box in rear channel. No thicker than 1/8" plate and no more than 1" over lay past the channel part of frame. Rear frame rails may not be shortened. Front frame rails may be shortened however the core support must remain in its stock location. -You may pitch, tilt or tip front frame in one (1) of three (3) ways: -(a) Cold pitch at crush box, no added metal. -(b) Cut 3 of the 4 flaps at the crush box, dropped the front frame section and re welded JUST THOSE 3 flaps. Do not reweld any other crush box seams, no adding metal. -(c) Cold pitch at the transmission cross member, and you may weld a 5 inch piece of angle within 10 from factory location to mount your cross member. Cross members must run straight across. -No hump plates allowed. 2003 and newer Ford production automobiles must retain factory engine cradles. No cradle conversions allowed. The rear frame humps above the rear tires may be beat in. That is the ONLY frame shaping that is allowed. If you spilt the frame seam while doing so you will not be allowed to weld it back together. No plating, stuffing, pinning, heat treating or foam filling of frames is allowed. Do NOT paint or undercoat your frame or you will not even be inspected and loaded. You may chain your rear humps 3/8" max chain. Do not weld links together to create a bar effect. Rear frame rails may be notched or dimpled. No welding of notches back together. Some rusty/rotted frame repair will be allowed call for approved details. BODY All doors, trunk lids and tailgates must be securely fastened shut. Doors, deck lids and tailgates may be welded 5 on, 5 off, outside only. Trunk lids and tailgates must remain in stock location metal strapping not to exceed 3" wide by 1/4" thick metal. Driver's door may be welded solid with the same size strap or just a solid weld. If you choose not to weld trunk lids you may fasten your trunk lid down with 8-3/8" bolts in the drip rail area of the trunk lid. Trunk lid seams must be clearly visible and accessible, do not pound over. Wagon gates may be welded, 5 on 5 off, **OR** you may bolt the tailgate with 4 bolts, 4 nuts, 5/8 max or you may weld 5 pieces of angle to the tailgate and quarters and use 5/8 max bolts. Additional outside body panel creasing permitted. Hoods must be bolted down. You may use six (6) bolts to hold the hood, 1" diameter max. The 2 front bolts may go through core support mounts on the frame, NOT welded to the frame. The other 4 must be sheet metal to sheet metal. 5 x 5 x ¼ washers may be used on top of hood. Hoods must be open for inspection. Hood springs must be removed. If you run a metal clutch fan or plastic racing fan do not cut hood out above them. A 12"x12" hole must be cut in center of hood and rear deck for inspection and fire safety. You may bolt the outer and inner skins together around cut outs with 12 3/8 bolts and washers. You may cut and roll

wheel wells for tire clearance. 6 bolts in each wheel lip 3/8 max bolt 1 washer. You may patch rust using same thickness of metal as area you re patching 1 overlap onto good metal. You must be able to prove rust. You may V trunk lid in the center but must have no less than a 10 gap between lid and the highest point of the trunk floor. Same rule applies for the speaker deck. Speaker decks must remain in stock location. No rolling quarters over the deck lid. Tail light panels must stay vertical. A plate may be welded or bolted on drivers door for safety. It is not to exceed 6 inches on either side of door. Radiator Support may be shimmed up. You may weld the front fenders to the radiator support where the fenders bolt to the top of the support. BUMPERS AND MOUNTING BRACKETS -Any year OEM car bumper is permitted. DEC bumpers will be allowed. You may weld all bumper seams, but you may not load them. Do not plate over backing holes. We will drill a ½ hole in all bumpers that we are unable to see in. You may trim bumper ends, but do not leave sharp edges. You may weld all mounting components of bumpers solid to the frame. You may use any factory car bumper brackets to mount your bumpers. You may swap bumper brackets from car to car. Brackets must be used in their STOCK manor. Brackets may not be altered in any way! You may weld bumper directly to frame if this is done you can t have a bumper shock in or on the frame. If you use a factory shock there must be a gap between the bumper and the frame. You may not weld further than 4" behind the radiator support when mounting your front bumper brackets on any car. Station wagons can run 2 pieces of all-thread, 3/4" max from the back bumper through the back body panel (NOT THE FRAME) only to help hold the bumper on 3 x 3 washers. You may run #9 wire the front bumper outside the radiator area in 2 spots, 3 strands per spot from core support to front bumper. Rear bumpers may be wired the same way to either the deck lid, tailgate or taillight panel. - Bumper height min. 16" from bottom of back bumper. Bumper height max 22" to bottom of bumper on front. SUSPENSION & STEERING COMPONENTS -Suspension must remain stock unless otherwise stated. A-arms and spindles may be swapped as long as no metal is added to do so. -Any ONE (1) of the following methods may be used to raise the front car height: -(a) Upper A arms may be welded down with a 2 x 2 x ¼ piece of flat steel on front and back side of upper a-arm. -(b) Lower A-arm may have a 2 wide straight strap 3/8 thick attached to frame. Strap must be installed vertically. No more than 2 of weld on frame. -(c) Chain the upper A-arms down. 3/8 chain link max with no more than 1 link welded to each side of front spring pocket. Do not weld links together to create a bar effect. Solid suspension is allowed. You may change out coil springs. Rear coil springs may be welded or wired in place. Leaf springs and packs must be in the factory position. 7 leaf maximum 5/16" max thickness, 2 1/2" wide maximum. Springs packs are to have no less than a 2 inch stair step starting no less than 2 inches behind the front and rear main leaf eyelet. Main must be on top. No wrapping springs around main. NO FLAT SPRUNG CARS ALLOWED! Leaf packs must have arch. Four (4) additional clamps may be added per spring pack. Clamp material 1/4" thick, 2" wide, 2-3/8" bolts per clamp. Rear shocks must be a factory made shock No homemade or solid shocks permitted. You may chain down rear suspension down. You may reinforce or pipe your tie rods, but you must start with an OEM tie rod. Ends must be OEM car origin stock. Do not replace joints with bolts. Steering column modifications will be allowed from the steering wheel to the steering gearbox. Steering gear box adapter plates allowed. No ball joint blocks or guards allowed. If sway bars are used, factory sway bar brackets must be used on frame. No welding allowed. All joints must remain a working joint. TIRES/WHEELS

- No tire restrictions. Any ply tire allowed (round rubber and safe) No split rims, studded tires. Valve stem protectors and universal lug center rims ok. Wheel weights must be removed. Doubled or foam filled tires allowed. No liquid filled tires. GAS TANK, BATTERIES, & COOLING SYSTEMS Automotive pump gas only. NO ALCOHOL! Original gas tanks must be removed. Tanks must be mounted in a safe and secure behind the driver seat. You may have 10 gal of fuel maximum. You must use a fuel cell or metal marine style tank with appropriate fittings. No plastic tanks allowed! All fuel tanks must be covered with non-flammable material. You may run an electric fuel pump but you must have a on and off switch clearly marked. GENERAL PREPARATION -All glass; including windshield, side & rear windows, head & taillights must be removed. Rolling down windows is NOT permitted. Sunroofs must be covered with sheet metal and properly secured. -All exterior chrome moulding, hubcaps, emblems, wiper arms, plastic grilles, outside door handles, and plastic or fiberglass header panels must be removed before entering grounds. -All carpeting, interior moulding, rear seats, headliners, inner door panels, and any other flammable material must be removed before entering grounds. Dash boards are optional. Vehicles MUST be swept free of all debris. -You must have a maximum of two (2) pieces of rebar/all-thread/chain/#9 wire/2 wide strapping from cowl to roof in driver s view of windshield (sheet metal to sheet metal only). DRIVER COMPARTMENT SAFETY CAGE -It is highly recommended that a 4-point type safety cage be placed in driver s compartment. Bars not to exceed 4 diameter, square or angle. 1 bar across dash and 1 bar behind seat. 2 adjoining bars, perpendicular to dash and seat bar, to attach them together. End plates not to exceed 12 square. Bars must be securely welded. Bars may not attach to frame or floor in anyway. NO KICKERS OR DOWNLEGS! -Roll-over bar is permitted BUT IS NOT REQUIRED and MUST BE ATTACHED TO SAFETY CAGE ONLY! NO ANGLING OF ROLL-OVER BAR! Bars not to extend forward past dash bar nor extend further back that kick panel/rear decking area. DOORS, HOODS, TRUCK LIDS AND GATES - All doors must be securely fastened one of the following methods: -(a) Two - 4 inch welds per outer seam. (Door strapping max is 2 x 4 1/8 thick). -(b) Chain or wire in 4 spots per door. No bolting doors or interior seam welding allowed. Hoods, trunks and station wagon gates may be wired or chained down in 4 spots. No chain or wire to frames. Hoods, trunk lid and tailgate must remain in OEM factory locations. No relocating allowed. Pre bending of bodies allowed, however rear quarter and tail light panels must remain vertical. No smash topping roofs of station wagons or wedging truck lid on sedans. No seam creasing allowed (folding, rolling, shaping etc.). Some rust repairing will be allowed. Call for approved repair details. Wheel wells may cut and folded up but not bolted. Hoods and trunk lids need to have a 12 x 12 hole in them for fire and inspection purposes. FRAME & BODY MOUNTING HARDWARE -Body mount spacers are to remain stock size and thickness. They need to remain untouched. No cutting down spacers or removing bushings. Broken body mount bolts may be replaced but must retain a 1 spacing between body & frame. Replacement bolts must remain stock size for that make and model. All mounting bolts must be installed thru stock mount holes in the way the factory intended. No additional body bolts allowed. Top washers are to be larger than 3 x 3 1/8 thick. Bottom washers (the ones inside the frame) must remain stock do not replace or add additional washers. Radiator support mounts must have factory spacers in place. No shimming supports up. Any car found with mounting hardware different than what is covered in this section will not run this class. There is no welding allowed on the frame other than what is covered in the bumper section. No welding frame seams. Frames must remain stock length no shortening. Rear frame rails may be notched or dimpled. Notch or dimple must go straight across top of frame. No welding notches back together. Some rusty/rotted frame repair will be allowed call for approved details. No cradle swaps on any automobile. Absolutely no tilting permitted!

BUMPERS & BRACKETS -Any year car bumper is allowed. Bumpers are interchangeable for all cars. No bumper seam welding allowed. No loading or plating bumpers. Bumper ends may be cut. You may weld bumpers to bumper shocks and shocks to brackets. You may weld bumpers to brackets for non-shock applications. You may swap bumper brackets from car to car. Brackets must be used in their STOCK manor, and may not be altered in any way. No additional metal may be used to mount bumper, shock or bracket. No rear bumper brackets allowed on front of car. Bumpers may be welded directly to the frame but, if you choose to do so, you can t have a bumper shock inside the frame. Bumpers MAY be chained or wired to car body. If chains or wire pass through hood or trunk, they will be counted as tie down spots. You may not weld further than 4" behind the radiator support when mounting your front bumper brackets or impact shocks on any car. ENGINE, TRANSMISSION & REAR END -Any motor, transmission and 5 lug car rear end of your choice as long has it bolts or welds in place without any modifications. You may run an engine cradle. Cradle is not to strengthen any other part of the car. It is only allowed to help hold engine in place and protect mount ears on engine block. Officials call is final! Only the lower stock engine mounts may be welded or chained. Rear end gears may be welded. No transmission braces, rear end braces, slider drive shafts, distributor or pulley protectors of any kind, no aftermarket parts of this nature at all. Old school is the name of the game. Must not strengthen frame in any way! No motor plates to frame. -Distributor Protectors are permitted. No wider than 14. Must have a 1 gap between DP & dash bar. NO kickers from DP to dash bar are permitted.

TIRES, RADIATOR, and FAN -Maximum 16. No liquid in tires. Tubes acceptable. No tires screws, rivets, or bead-lock on rims. No studded tires. Wheel weights must be removed. No split rims. -Radiator must remain in stock location. Steel clutch fans must be covered. Electric fans permitted. PRE-RAN TRUCKS -All body tears & rips may be repaired at a MINIMUM! 1 overlap only! No thicker than 16 gauge sheet metal. Overkill on repairs will result in completely cutting material away. -May use no more than 4 fix-a-plates. There must be visible damage where fix-a-plate is used. 4 x4 maximum. CAN ONLY BE USED ON TWO (2) SIDES OF FRAME! Fix-a-plates must not attach to one another.
