On Your Marques at Charterhouse Classic Car Auction The Charterhouse auction of classic cars on Sunday 8 th November where there is a great selection of British, European and American classic cars. We have been busy seeing clients throughout the West Country and have unearthed some cracking classic cars for the auction. Some are barn stored basket cases and some are concours classics and with estimates from 500 to 75,000 there is pretty much something for everyone, commented Matthew Whitney. The classic car market remains very buoyant with collectors and dealers looking to source cars. This combined with live internet bidding results in a huge target audience and the high prices paid at these specialist auctions. Although there are exotic and rare European and American classic cars such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Saab, VW, Chrysler, Opel and other premium brands, there is a huge selection of British made vehicles which are perennial favourites at Charterhouse auctions with the auction approaching over 70 cars and motorcycles. The epitome of a British classic car is a 1949 MG TC going under the Charterhouse hammer. Finished in Old English White, and with a green leather interior, this piece of motoring history is estimated at 25,000-30,000. 1949 MG TC This is followed by a 1953 MG TD, which has been in the same family for 48 years, now dismantled and requiring its restoration being completed at 5,000-7,000, a
1978 MGB Roadster 2,000-3,000 and through to a more modern MG is a 2000 MF TF with low recorded miles for just 1,000-1,500. No classic car auction would be compete without a Jaguar or two, but Charterhouse have three Jaguar XJS convertibles, estimated from 8,000 to 18,000, a rare 1997 Aston Martin V8 Coupe which was originally owned by Aston Martin for 65,000-75,000, see below. 1997 Aston Martin V8 Coupe A 1971 lotus Elan S4 drop head coupe 25,000-30,000, and a 1973 Lotus Europa JPS with just 53,000 miles from new 15,000-20,000. 1973 Lotus Europa JPS
Even more a 1935 Singer 9 Le Mans Speed 28,000-32,000 and a 1962 Triumph TR4, with an 8,000 engine rebuild, at 17,000-19,000, see below. 1962 Triumph TR4 In the sub 10,000 market, there is a 1986 Ford Capri 2.0 Laser. A 1967 VW Beetle 1200, one family owned from new for 5,800 to 6,200 through to a 1979 Mini automatic affectionately known as Henrietta, with just one owner, sadly now deceased, offered for sale at no reserve and estimated at 500-1,000.
