As we review this month s Monthly Statistical Digest, we can see that the market is beginning to show signs of an upswing in Southern Arizona. The December 29 Recap on the following page shows the following improvements in December 29 numbers over December 28 numbers. These are: Home Sales Units (+1.47%), Home Sales Volume (+11.34%), Pending Contracts (+38.56%), and Average Sales Price (+.78). Also, New Listings (-9.86%) and Active Listings (-19.63%) continue to decline to manageable levels. The Multiple Listing Service is in the process of preparing the detailed Year End Review for 29 which should be released in the next few weeks. Some highlights of this report include Home Unit Sales at 9.49% over Home Sales in 28 and Home Sales Volume just under 1% of the volume done in 28. It is very exciting to see the numbers moving in the right direction. The extension and expansion of the First-Time Home Buyer tax credit should help to continue to push the market forward. As you know, Congress has passed new legislation to extend the First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit of up to $8, to first-time home buyers and up to $6,5 credit to current home owners until April 3, 21. Affordable housing, low interest rates and government backed financing will definitely assist the real estate market in 21. Lifestyle Opportunities: No matter what area or type of home you are interested in, you have a variety of options. Financial: Multiple financing opportunities are available Talk to a REALTOR!
