ŠKODA FABIA 1,250,000 KM 31 around the world
At first glance, I am an ordinary hatchback, but actually I am quite unique My yearly mileage regularly exceeded 100,000 km. Many of my relatives spend their whole lifetime to cover such distance. To be truthful, it was no walk in the park. I often hauled all sorts of cargo in far from ideal conditions. Do you ask what made it possible for me to cover this extreme distance? Regular maintenance according to manufacturer specifications Professional care of an authorised ŠKODA service facility throughout my whole life Exclusive use of ŠKODA Genuine Parts I am living proof of the fact that honest servicing can do wonders. And to cut short any doubts, I must add that I operated under an extended 30,000 km service interval. Would I still be around if it was not for the care provided by an authorised ŠKODA service facility?

31 This milestone is truly unprecedented. It seems that I am aspiring for an entry in the Guinness World Records. I have already covered a distance of more than 1,250,000 km, or as much as if I had circumnavigated the globe 31 times. Not only am I still forging ahead, but I continue to cover thousands of kilometres across Europe. I am now on a road show through different European countries in which I take rounds meeting the local media.
WARSAW MLADÁ BOLESLAV PARIS ZURICH VIENNA BRATISLAVA BUDAPEST I have already visited Slovakia, Austria, France, and Switzerland, but I already know that soon I will be in Poland. Other destinations are sure to follow
SLOVAKIA Bratislava What did Slovakian journalists say about me? This ten-year-old Fabia proves that you do not need to change your car every 2 or 3 years, and that if you take good care of it and give it proper servicing, it will easily last you 10 years or one-and-a-quarter million kilometres.
AUSTRIA Vienna How did I capture the interest of Austrian journalists who get to test sophisticated new cars on a daily basis? It is surprising how everything functions the clutch, engine, gearbox, steering. There are no clonks and, save for a few details, everything works the way it should. Surprising indeed
FRANCE Paris The French media were left breathless at my mileage, which they considered unattainable for a small Czech hatchback. Even an old Mercedes or a Volvo would have a difficult time living with such high numbers on the clock. You just wouldn't expect a ŠKODA Fabia to survive such an ordeal. However, it has truly happened. And what more the car shows to be in unexpectedly good health.
SWITZERLAND Zurich The Swiss give their cars exquisite treatment and cause them no harm on their excellent roads, but even they were taken by surprise at my extreme endurance. They say that today's cars are engineered to last 200 or 300 thousand kilometres. However, it is apparent that if you treat them well and care for them properly, they can be nigh on immortal.
WHERE WILL THE ROAD TAKE ME, AND HOW MANY KILOMETRES WILL I STILL COVER? The European roadshow continues at full speed and I feel ready to tackle any new challenge.
