This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. WORK AREA Keep work areas clean and well lit. Cluttered benches, work areas and areas with insufficient light invite accidents. DO NOT operate this appliance in areas where flammable liquids, gases or dust are present. This appliance create sparks which may ignite liquids or fumes. Keep children away from work areas. People should maintain a safe distance away from the work area. People near the work area must also wear protective clothing. ELECTRICAL SAFETY This tool must only be recharged with the specified charger. When replacing the battery, only use an equivalent battery. The use of any other battery may create a risk of fire. Never use the cable to carry the charger. Keep cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Replace damaged cable immediately. Damaged cables may create a fire. PERSONAL SAFETY We recommend the user wears safety equipment during use. Avoid distractions while operating any power appliances. Never operate any equipment whist under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medications. Wear suitable clothing. Remove jewellery before using this appliance. DO NOT wear lose fitting clothing, necklaces, rings, bracelets, or other Jewellery, which may get caught in moving parts. Non-skid footwear and suitable work gloves are highly recommended whilst working. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair. Protect your eyes. The operation of any power tool can result in foreign objects being thrown into the eyes, which can result in severe eye damage. Always wear eye protection during power appliance operation. Unless specified, Eye glasses are NOT safety glasses. Be responsible for your hearing. Wear hearing protection during extended periods of operation. DO NOT overreach. Proper footing and balance is a must at all times while using the appliance. In some cases where the appliance produces dust a suitable approved dusk mask must be worn. -1-

APPLIANCE USE AND CARE Know your power appliance. Read the instruction manual carefully. Learn its applications and limitations as well as the specific potential hazards related to this appliance. Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or serious injury. Always secure and support the work piece, if necessary use clamps to secure and support the work piece to a stable platform. NOTE: Holding the work piece by hand or against your body is dangerous and may lead to loss of control and personal injury. Use the right appliance for each job. Only use the appliances for its intended task. DO NOT force a small appliance to do the job of a larger appliance. Using the right appliance to do the right job will do the intended job safer and easier. Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for one appliance may become hazardous when used on another appliance. Keep the appliance clean, dry and free from oil and grease. Never allow the plastic parts to come into contact with brake fluid, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or any strong solvents which contain chemicals that can damage, weaken or destroy the housing, as it could compromise the integrity of the insulation. SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT place excessive loads on the drill that cause the drill to cease turning. Never start the drill when the bit is in contact with the work piece. Never lay the drill down before its moving parts have come to a complete stop! Make sure the drill bit is securely mounted in the chuck. An improperly mounted bit is extremely dangerous since it can fly off or break during drilling. Do not wear cloth gloves or a necktie as these could become caught in the rotating parts. Hold the appliance securely with both hands. Always use the steadying handle supplied with the appliance. Always disconnect from the mains supply before changing the drill bit. After use, check your appliance to keep it in top condition. Clean out any accumulated dust. -2-

Carefully remove the tool and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. Inspect the tool carefully to make sure there are no breakages or damage which has occurred during shipping. DO NOT discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected the product and satisfactorily operated the tool. Battery Charging Refer to page 5 for safety warnings. The battery in this tool has been shipped in a low charge condition to prevent possible problems. You should charge the battery fully prior to using the drill for the first time. Fig1 Only use the charger supplied to charge the battery. Plug the charger cord into the socket on the tool. (Fig 1) Now plug the charger into the mains outlet socket and switch on. The RED LED will illuminate indicating charging. NOTE: the RED LED will extinguish when the charging is completed. Initially charge could be up to 7 hours. After which in normal usage, your battery should be fully charged within 3 to 5 hours. Once the battery is charged, switch off the supply at the mains outlet socket and remove the charger. NOTE: While charging, the charger may hum and become warm to touch. This is a normal condition and does not indicate a problem. DO NOT use the tool while it is connected the charger. -3-

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: WARNING: Never operate this tool if any parts are missing until the missing parts are replaced. Failure to do so could result in possible serious personal injury. WARNING: Tool may stall (if overloaded or improperly used) causing a twist. Always expect the stall. Grip the screwdriver firmly to control the twisting action and prevent loss of control which could cause personal injury. If a stall does occur, release the trigger immediately and determine the reason for the stall before re-starting. WARNING: DO NOT allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to serious injury. Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operate tools. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible serious injury. Installation of accessory bits Hold the screwdriver and install the hex shank accessory into the chuck ; Operation: To operate the tool in a clockwise direction, press the top section of the rocker switch. To operate the tool in a anti-clockwise direction, press the bottom section of the rocker switch. The tool is locked if the rocker switch is not depressed which allows the tool to be used as a conventional non-powered screwdriver. NOTE: The LED work light automatically comes on when the screwdriver is operated. This provides additional lighting on the work surface which is useful in lower-light situations. POWER INDICATORS: There are three LED lights on the back top of the screwdriver, red, orange and green. When operating the unit power the battery level is indicated 1) Green LED = 60% or more power remaining 2) Orange LED = 40% or more power remaining 3) Red LED = lower power only remaining DRILLING: This tool is not recommended for drilling in metal or masonry. Red Orange Green Battery Safety Warnings In the unlikely event that the electrolyte in the battery should escape, it s essential to avoid contact with your skin. If electrolyte does come into contact with your skin, rinse off immediately with water. In the event of electrolyte comes into contact with your eyes, it s essential that you contact your doctor. NEVER throw batteries into water or onto a fire as this will cause a risk of explosion! Always protect the battery pack from impacts, and NEVER open the battery casing. -4-

Battery Charging Safety Warnings NEVER use charger outdoors or expose to wet or damp conditions. Water entering charger will increase the risk of electric shock. NEVER use the cord to carry the charger and never pull the charge by its cord when unplugging. Replace damaged cords immediately. Make sure cord is located so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over, come in contact with sharp edges or otherwise subjected to damage or stress. DO NOT operate charger with a damaged cord or plug, which could cause shorting and electric shock. If damaged, have the charger replaced by an authorized dealer. DO NOT operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way. DO NOT disassemble charger. Take it to an authorized dealer when service or repair is required. Unplug charger from outlet before attempting any maintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk of electric shock. Disconnect charger from the power supply when not in use. This will reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the charger if metal items should fall into the opening, it also will help prevent damage to the charger during a power surge. DO NOT charge batteries in temperature below 5oC or above 50oC. This is important and will prevent serious damage to the batteries. Battery Life ENSURE THAT THE BATTERY IS REGULARLY CHARGED AND IS NOT PERMITTED TO COMPLETELY DISCHARGE WHICH MAY PREVENT IT FROM BEING RECHARGED! During use the LEDs will indicate the charge status of the battery. Once the RED led lights, its time to re-charge the battery. DO NOT CONTINUE TO USE THE TOOL AS COMPLETELY DISCHARGING THE BATTERY COULD DAMAGE IT. Avoid leaving on charge for extended periods of time. Although overcharging is not a safety concern, it can significantly reduce overall battery life. The battery will reach optimum performance after being recharged 5 times during normal usage. There is no need to run the batteries down completely before recharging. Avoid short periods of charging. -5-

MAINTENANCE WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when using compressed air to clean tools, if the operation is dusty, also wear a dusk mask. Use only mild soap and damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get inside the tool. Never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid. WARNING: DO NOT at any time let brake fluids; gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc. come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury. Only the parts shown on the parts list are intended to be repaired or replaced by the customer. Before any work on the machine itself, ensure that the battery pack is removed from the drill. BATTERY DISPOSAL When the battery no longer accepts an adequate charge the battery is depleted. The battery should disposed of in the correct manor. The battery contains nickel-cadmium. You must not dispose of the battery in the ordinary trash. Consult your local waste authority for information regarding available recycling and/or disposal options. TROUBLE SHOOTING Battery does not charge: 1. The RED LED does not indicate that there is power from the transformer. 2. No power at mains socket. 1. Check output from the transformer. 2. Check mains fuse box. -6-

Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local authority or retailer for recycling advice. This symbol is known as the Crossed-out Wheelie Bin Symbol. When a product is marked with this symbol, it means the product should not be disposed of with your general household waste. Only discard electrical/electronic products in a separate collection scheme which caters for the recovery and recycling of the materials contained within.
