ASSEMBLY MANUAL Keep With Operator s Manual HYDRAULIC RIDE CONTROL KIT RHINO 4211 AND 4211B FRONT END LOADERS Hydraulic ride control kit can be installed on 4211 or 4211B loaders. FIELD INSTALLATION OF MOUNTING BLANKS (Figure 1) 1. Clean weld area to bare metal prior to welding. 2. Locate and weld four 1 OD x 3/4 long blanks (item ) as shown in Figure 1. NOTE: Weld filler material to be AWS A.1 ER70S-2, ER70S-3, ER70S-, or equivalent, as applicable. FIGURE 1 FIELD WELDING MOUNTING BLANKS 1.0 11 4.13.19 4 PLACES 3. PRECHARGING INSTRUCTIONS (Figure 3) 1. Place a small amount of fluid (10% of accumulator capacity, or ~2. FL.OZ.) into the accumulator using the hydraulic hose. Lubricate as much of the bladder surface area as possible by rotating the assembly. 2. Remove the protective cap (gas valve guard) and the valve cap (if there is one). 3. Attach the gland & nut portion of the charging assembly to a dry nitrogen gas bottle, tighten securely. If the gland & nut do not fit, you are using the wrong gas or wrong pressure! 4. Attach the filler adapter to the accumulator bladder gas valve by hand tightening its swivel hex connection.. For 3000 psi accumulators, turn the filler adapter T handle clockwise until it stops. This opens the valve core.. Set nitrogen bottle gas regulator (if attached) to 3 psig. (The use of a nitrogen gas regulator is strongly recommended!) 7. Open nitrogen bottle gas valve. (If you are not using a nitrogen gas regulator, care should be taken to slowly crack the valve open.) With a regulator, valve can be opened fully.. Pre-charge slowly (3 psig) using dry nitrogen gas, until bladder is fully inflated. CAUTION: Initial precharging at a pressure above 3 psig will cause the bladder to burst. Make sure to precharge to a minimum of 30% of operating pressure. 9. Continue pre-charging to desired pressure by increasing gas flow slowly. 10. For 3000 psi accumulators. Turn the air chuck T handle COUNTER-clockwise until it stops. This CLOSES the valve core. 11. Remove the charging assembly. Check for gas leakage. (The use of gas leak detection fluid or soapy water is recommended.). Tighten hex jam nut and lock nut fully. 13. Replace the valve cap, and protective cap. Tighten, hand tight. 14. Install accumulator on system. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE. 1. Pressurize system. Operate. FIGURE 3 TYPICAL CHARGING SETUP F-427 Page 3 of
CHARGE LEVELS 4211B @ 2000# LOAD = 1000 PSI Tune to desired dampeing based on load by lowering precharge pressure. Too high of a precharge pressure makes for harsh or no attenuation. Too low of a precharge pressure can cuase large oscillation of loader up/down while traversing rough terrain. OPERATION WITH TRACTOR OFF AND SAFELY PARKED: Make sure loader is on ground. Move loader joystick to all positions to relieve residual pressure in system before activating or isolating ride control functionality. (Figure ) INSTALLATION WITH TRACTOR OFF AND SAFELY PARKED: FIGURE RIDE CONTROL OPERATION 1. Make sure loader is on ground. Move loader joystick to all positions to relieve residual pressure in system. 2. Disconnect existing hose/tube for base end of lift cylinder, and insert JIC tee (#). 3. Reattach hose for cylinder and assemble as shown. 4. Position valve handle such that, in the closed position, the handle is pointed toward and slightly above the loader boom cross member. In the open position, it should point toward the left side of the tractor (as viewed form the operator s position).
