Laser welding Unlike most other cars which are built using conventional spot welds, the Polo features laser welding technology for its roof. The result - greater strength and a perfectly smooth finish. Brake disc wipers In heavy rain, the brake pads are automatically applied to the discs at prescribed intervals to wipe away the unwanted film of water. This allows the full braking effect to be available faster. Safety. Airbags An advanced airbag system ensures that all occupants are well protected in an impact. The Polo has 6 airbags, including side curtain airbags that cover both front and rear passengers. ESP The ESP system keeps the Polo stable even in extreme driving conditions. It adjusts the engine s output and brakes individual wheels when it detects skidding, so the driver stays in control.
