The global strength of New Holland is in the technology, efficiency and high quality standard of its machines. The local solutions that New Holland brings to the segments in which it operates consolidate the excellence of the brand on the global construction market. The brand's crawler dozers have always been a reference in the market. They are known to be the most robust, most versatile and most reliable. The D is the youngest of this successful family. Its extra long tracks provide greater precision during operations and the hydrostatic transmission increases its performance in the toughest jobs. Its high power and torque contrast with its low consumption and the hinged cab streamlines maintenance, making the D a highly efficient crawler dozer to use on your jobs. 2
Powertrain ENGINE HIGH POWER AND TORQUE, LOW CONSUMPTION AND REDUCED VIBRATION. The D features a new New Holland engine. The technology implemented allows high levels of power and torque to be developed and provides a reduction in fuel consumption and pollutant emissions (Tier 3 certified). The turbocharged, 6-cylinder, 6.7 liter engine provides 118 net horsepower to the tracks. Its Common Rail electronic fuel injection system optimizes the mixture for extremely efficient combustion. The engine is connected to the hydrostatic pumps through a transmission shaft, making operations more comfortable, with less machine vibrations. 3
HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSION MAXIMUM CONTROL CAPACITY AND EFFICIENCY. This is what makes the D stand out: the high performance hydrostatic transmission, generating an amazing amount of power on each track, through powerful drive motors. Simple and durable, it transmits the power required to push full blades, even when turning. Its components reduce the number of passes required to move the material, improving productivity and reducing operating cost per cubic meter. DOUBLE HYDROSTATIC PUMPS. These pumps are made with an isolating construction to reduce vibrations and provide smooth operation. The controls are easy to operate and boost productivity, making the D ideal for applications in residential, commercial and public utility works as well as on roads and bridges. The D crawler dozer is also a great machine to hire. OPERATIONAL PRECISION AND EASE. To change direction, the operator simply tilts the lever in the desired direction. Automatically, the speed of the track on that side decreases. When the lever is completely pushed to the side, the machine will make a u-turn. The operator can make an infinite number of changes to the steering to obtain easy and precise operation. The machine maintains power on both tracks while turning the steering and can move a full load in a turn without losing control of the load, braking or lifting the blade. A novice operator does not take a lot of time to learn to use the controls on the D. And an experienced operator will appreciate the precision control and increased productivity it provides. The operator can also adjust the sensitivity of the steering and the forward/reverse modulation, according to preference or the application conditions. 4
PUSHING POWER When you add the blade to the D, you will have pushing power and high performance precision at your fingertips. From the preparation of works on slopes to final ground leveling, the D carries out the activities ahead with speed and strength. Its solid metal "C" construction provides increased strength during operations. ADJUSTABLE BLADE PITCH: GREATER PRODUCTIVITY. The D crawler dozer provides comfortable and loweffort electronic blade control which provides simultaneous and multi-functional control. Large hydraulic cylinders generate sufficient power on the blade to provide ideal breaking strength. In order to better suit ground conditions and maximize productivity, the blade pitch can be easily adjusted with a tool, from a maximum of 55 degrees going forward to 60 degrees in reverse. The pitch control allows the optimal blade angle to be obtained, according to the material being worked. The back of the blade is inclined so the operator can see the cutting edge and know when the material that flows under the blade is running out. 5
UNDERCARRIAGE STRENGTH TO OVERCOME ANY OBSTACLES. The D undercarriage was built to provide stable, precise and economic operation. The heavy-duty pins, bushings and rollers give the track a long service life. The suspension, with equalizer beam and pins, provides a smooth ride, stability and maximum traction for uphill work, the removal of tree stumps or moving forward at low-speeds. TRACK CONFIGURATIONS FOR THE BEST PERFORMANCE. New Holland offers several undercarriage configurations for maximum versatility of your crawler dozer. These are: XLT (extra-long track) configuration: ideal for precision leveling and greater flotation. WT (wide track) configuration: provides more stability and accommodates wider blades for final grading or uphill work. LGP (low ground pressure) configuration: maximizes flotation for applications that require less ground pressure. The helical cut gears in the final drive assemblies reduce noise levels. The central cast gearbox provides excellent ground clearance. Standard on all versions, the track is sealed and lubricated with an oil reservoir on each pin. The pin and the bushing are sealed to prevent contamination, and lubricated to eliminate wear between them, thus providing an excellent service life. The extended life track undercarriage provides high durability in abrasive conditions. It features a large diameter hardened bushing which remains free to rotate about the standard bushing, allowing the distribution of wear over the entire circumference of the outer bushing. 6
CAB COMFORT AND ERGONOMICS FOR GREATER PRODUCTIVITY. The cab was built for operator convenience while maintaining the best performance. Ergonomic, with all controls at hand and a large rear-view mirror, operational activities become very simple. The cab provides excellent visibility of the work site. A narrow and modular control panel provides the operator with a direct line of sight to the cutting edge. Additionally, entering the cab is made easier with doors that open parallel to the side. The cab construction is equipped with insulation in order to reduce the effects of noise and vibration and provides a comfortable ride, reducing fatigue and increasing productivity. For additional comfort, an optional Air- Ride suspension seat is available from New Holland. Air-conditioning and heating are further optional items. BETTER VISIBILITY, INCREASED EFFICIENCY. From the cab, the operator has an excellent view of the blade and the work site which is very important for precision work. The narrow panel and the tapered hood provide a direct line of sight to the side of the blade, allowing measurement of the material flow under the blade. The low-effort electronic blade control provides simultaneous and multi-functional control. For simple and precise operation, the D has a single lever that operates the electronically controlled hydrostatic transmission, and two speed buttons (increase/decrease), with six stages. This adjusts the forward and reverse speed ratio and the direction lever effort. 7
