DISCONNECT POWER TO ALL CIRCUITS BEFORE WIRING FIXTURE. INSTALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL NATIONAL, STATE, AND LOCAL CODES. DO NOT CONNECT TO AN UNGROUNDED SUPPLY. RECESSED GRID FIXTURES 1. Fixture is designed fr use with 1.00"/1.50" T bar grid systems with vertical grid T thickness f less than ¼" with a maximum height f 2". Grid systems can be installed with standard 24 r 48 inch center line spacing f grid. 2. Fixture husing lays int grid. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS 1. Munt and wire the MRIPS-312 external pwer supply per the prcedures prvided in the supplementary instructin sheet. Run cnduit and DC wiring t an MRI rm EMI fi lter sized t the lad f the pwer supply (supplied by thers). Make sure wiring is cmpletely enclsed in grunded aluminum cnduit. Any gaps, regardless f size, must be clsed r wrapped with supplied cpper fil tape. 2. If a 0-10V dimmer is t be cnnected, install at this time. Dimmer must be installed utside the shielded MRI envirnment with an intermediate MRI rm EMI fi lter t the luminaires. Kenall recmmends using a Levitn lllumatech IP710 series dimmer r Grafi k Eye GRX-TVI cntrl interface. Cntact Kenall fr suitability f using an alternate sink-type 0-10V dimmer. WARNING: ALL DC POWER AND DIMMING SIGNAL WIRING MUST BE RUN THROUGH SEPARATE EMI FILTERS. 3. Remve junctin bx cver and make cnduit cnnectins t the apprpriate 1/2 knckut(s). Figure 1
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 2 4. Run the 24VDC supply frm the EMI fi lter t the luminaire(s) using at least 18 AWG wires rated at least 90C. See Figure 1. Class 1 wiring is required. Make sure wiring is cmpletely enclsed in grunded aluminum cnduit. Any gaps, regardless f size, must be clsed r wrapped in cpper fil tape. Special attentin shuld be paid t the wiring entry pint int the shielded space. 5. Run the dimming signal (if applicable) frm the dimmer EMI fi lter t the luminaire(s) using at least 18AWG wires. Make sure wiring is cmpletely enclsed in grunded aluminum cnduit. Any gaps, regardless f size, must be clsed r wrapped in cpper fil tape. Specal attentin shuld be paid t the wiring entry pint int the shielded space. 6. Using at least an 18 AWG wire, each fi xture must be grunded t the shielded ceiling. This can be dne by fastening the cpper grund wire in the luminaire's junctin bx. 7. Make DC supply and (ptinal) dimmer cntrl cnnectins within each luminaire. Cap gray and vilet leads if dimmer is nt cnnected. See Figure 2. 8. Replace junctin bx cver and seal bth cvers using supplied cpper fil tape.
