If the LED on the connector is solid GREEN the clamps are connected correctly and the battery has been detected. Charging the BoltPower Home: Connect the BoltPower unit to any standard outlet using the home charging cable included. Auto: Connect the BoltPower unit to the vehicle cigarette lighter using the vehicle charging cable included. Instructions to Connect Clamps (see Caution page 6) With the BoltPower unit OFF, connect the positive (RED) clamp to the positive battery terminal (RED/-) and the negative (BLACK) clamp to the negative battery terminal (BLACK/-). Plug the clamp connector into the BoltPower unit. If the LED on the connector is flashing RED the clamps are incorrectly connected to the battery. DISCONNECT THE CLAMPS IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT TURN THE UNIT ON OR DEPRESS THE OVERLOAD BUTTON. Re-connect the clamps as directed above. If the LED on the connector is solid RED the clamps are connected correctly and the battery has no charge. In this case press & hold the OVERLOAD button (approx 3 seconds) until the LED is solid GREEN. When the LED is solid GREEN the unit is ready to use. Jumpstarting Vehicles (with a 12V system only) Always check the BoltPower charge level prior to attempting a jumpstart. The unit must be 60% charged to jumpstart a large vehicle and 25% charged to jump start a small vehicle. With the BoltPower unit OFF, 1. Connect the clamps to the car battery as instructed. 2. Slide the main ON/OFF power switch to the ON position. 3. Wait 10-seconds and start the vehicle. 4. If the vehicle does not start wait at least 30-seconds before attempting another jumpstart. Make sure all cables are securely connected. 5. Once the vehicle starts disconnect the BoltPower unit within 25-seconds to avoid damage to the unit. 6. Charging Mobile Devices Use the two USB charging ports to charge mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and cameras. 1. Connect the mobile device to the BoltPower unit using the USB cable included or any OEM cable. 2. Slide the main ON/OFF power switch to the ON position to begin charging the device. Charging is indicated by the LDC screen showing OUT 5V 2.1. Note: If no device is attached the BoltPower unit will shut off within 30-seconds. LED Flashlight The BoltPower has 3 flashlight settings. 1. Slide the main ON/OFF power switch to the ON position. 2. Press & hold the flashlight POWER button and the flashlight will turn on with a solid beam. a. Press the power button again for slow flash (SOS mode). b. Press the power button again for rapid flash. c. Press the power button again to turn off. Caution Always ensure the clamps are firmly connected to the proper battery terminals before attempting a jumpstart. Improper connections may damage the vehicle battery and the BoltPower unit. Always wait at least 30-seconds between jumpstart attempts. If the vehicle does not start (1) make sure the BoltPower unit is ON, and (2) make sure the vehicle battery leads are clean of rust, dirt or other debris. If after 3 attempts the vehicle does not start disconnect the BoltPower unit and contact your vehicle service provider. Do not let the BoltPower clamps contact each other when the unit is ON. The BoltPower unit is not user serviceable. Any attempt by owner to service or modify the unit will void the warranty. Do not expose the BoltPower unit to water or other liquids. Keep away from children. Keep away from fire or extreme heat. STOP using if the BoltPower battery becomes hot or changes color, which may indicate an internal leak. Turn the main ON/OFF power switch to the OFF position when not in use. Recharge the BoltPower unit at least every 3-months. 5 6
Warranty The BoltPower unit is warranted for a period of 12-months from the original purchase date. For warranty-related issues please go to our website www.boltpowerusa.com.
