TRANSPORT threaded LIFTING and FIXING inserts The C.L.P.T. lifting- transport anchors and the corresponding lifting devices are produced with normal ETRIC thread () and ROUND ETRIC thread (Rd). Different factors and influences have to be taken into account to determine the load on the lifting anchors: 1- Weight of the element 2 - Adhesion between the concrete and the mould (steel or timber). 3- Dynamic factor (loading increase), dumping during the lifting is determined according to DIN 158. 4- Lifting under an angle when using multiple slings without a beam. 5- Additional reinforcement by lifting and turning the precast element. 1 - Calculation of the weight (G) of the element: G = density concrete (25 kn/m³) x volume (L /m x W /m x T /m) = kn 2 - Calculation of the adhesion (Ha) to the mould: Ha = surface of the contact area (m²) x adhesion force (kn / m²) = kn - adhesion force oiled steel mould = 1 kn / m² - adhesion force timber mould (smooth) = 2 kn / m² - adhesion force timber mould (rough) = 3 kn / m² - adhesion force TT- plates = 2 x G - adhesion force cassette plates = 3 x G 3 - Dynamic factor / lifting, total load (Vt) : Depending the use of a fork lift truck or a crane with a lifting speed (Vh) the load has to be increased with a lifting factor (f). Prior concreting of precast units, loops are installed in the mold in a way that their position is secured and measures e and f comply to according tables hereunder mentioned. In the upper end of the loop, which looks out of the hardened concrete, the diverse lifting equipment snatch in. Precast concrete units for transport must have a minimum reinforcement according to the table above. An already existing staticstructural reinforcement may be taken into account on requested minimum reinforcement according to table above. The minimum reinforcement guarantees local transmission of load through the cast-in lifting loop, but it does not replace requested reinforcement according to static calculation. Should the occasion arise to cut out single bars for installation of the lifting loops, these bars have to be replaced by stirrups of same diameter and strength with sufficiant length according to DIN 1045. www.clpt.be 19

The CIL cast-in lifting loop has to be carefully fixed on the reinforcement to avoid change of their position during concreting. Admissible loads for C.L.P.T. fixing inserts C.L.P.T. made over the last years extensive tests to give exact load-capacity for all the C.L.P.T. inserts. any facts such as strength and the concrete quality can influence the load-capacity of the inserts. The admissible static loads for the C.L.P.T. fixing inserts, embedded completely into the concrete, are valid for pull out or shear load and have a safety factor of 3x - 4x to the average work load. Torque () Force (F) When the C.L.P.T. insert is in 12 8 Nm ca 3,30 Kn a recessed position an 16 17 Nm ca 5,30 Kn adapted filling is necessary 20 35 Nm ca 8,70 Kn (picture 1) to prevent loading the concrete. Group 4 The Fixing Sockets are especial suited for use in thin prefab panels and where anchors have to take high pull out forces.
