The track is a unique 32 meter, four lane track manufactured from composite materials and completely free standing. It utilises the latest digital technology and allows up to twenty cars to run simultaneously, as it enables cars to cross into other lanes. It is fully computerised, with a Formula 1 style start. It has colour screens which give drivers and spectators continuous feedback on race positions, fastest laps, etc. The track takes about thirty minutes to set up and when dissembled it can fit in the back of a panel van or small pick-up. It has adjustable aluminium legs which enables it to be set up on any surface that is fairly level. It is ideal for outdoor use, as it is weather proof and runs on its own twelve volt power supply. The track also has a shorter 20 meter configuration for use in smaller spaces. It is great family entertainment as children and adults, male and female, can all compete on an equal footing. The controllers are simple to manage and no previous experience is needed to race. Although it is a completely new concept and slot car racing is not well known in South Africa, it is proving to be very popular. events. We take the track and all equipment to the client and set it up in their chosen venue. We also manage the track and actual racing event. For this service we charge an hourly rate, per hour that the track is in operation. The track can also be booked for fund-raisers for schools, churches, sports clubs etc. In this case we operate the track at the event, charge the public for racing and pay an agreed percentage of profits to the fund-raiser. This system makes slot car racing affordable and within reach of anyone who is keen on driving. We would consider setting up a roaming slot car club. We can take the track to villages where there is a demand for slot car racing but no local club. We can offer regular club evenings in different areas. 5. Requirements for succesful operation 5.1. Weekend work This business requires dedicated weekend availabilty as most children s parties and markets take place on weekends. 5.2. Week days there exists massive potential to promote racing events during the week. Examples: Corporate events, corporate league, schools league & club evenings as well as promotions at social gathering establishments. 5.3. Personality A friendly and interactive yet patient personality provides a foundation for success and word of mouth referrals as well as repeat business. 5.3.1. Working with children requires a person to be friendly and patient, yet firm in order to keep things under control and manageable. 5.4. Maintenance the track requires very little maintenance other than a quick clean and perhaps some tracktion lubrication once in a while. 5.4.1. The cars require some basic maintenance between weekends, which usually consists of lubricating bearings and replacing braid.
