IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please read these instructions thoroughly before use. Failure to follow instructions may result in equipment damage or failure, losses, injury or death. DANGER: To avoid possible electric shock: If the power cord has been damaged, DO NOT operate, SuperFlo Pump should be replaced. If the power cord lead has been damaged, DO NOT operate, SuperFlo Pump should be replaced. Close supervision is necessary when the unit is used near children. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock: Connect only to a properly grounded receptacle, which is serviced by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter and never remove the ground pin from the plug. Provide a drip loop for the power cord. This is a loop in the cord below the level of the receptacle or plug that prevents water from traveling along the cord in the direction of the receptacle. ALWAYS unplug the SuperFlo Pump from power source when it is not in use, and before installing, removing or servicing the SuperFlo Pump components. DO NOT immerse the SuperFlo Pump plug in water or attempt to use a wet plug. The SuperFlo Pump is NOT suitable for use in swimming pools, swimming ponds, or other situations where bodily contact is made with the water. CAUTION: To reduce the risk of equipment damage or failure: DO NOT place SuperFlo Pump near flammable or other dangerous materials or objects. DO NOT use the SuperFlo Pump for fluids other than water. ALWAYS unplug the unit if there is no water running through it to prevent over heating. ALWAYS operate the pump completely submerged for proper cooling. DO NOT operate during freezing conditions. Drain SuperFlo Pump and store in a protected location. TECHNICAL SPECS (CON T): INSTALLING YOUR SUPERFLO PUMP: For Best Results Ideally the SuperFlo Pump should be placed in a skimmer or vault, but may be placed on any flat surface away from sludge or algae mats. Keep SuperFlo Pump pre-filter free of debris. DO NOT operate during freezing conditions. Drain the SuperFlo Pump and store in a protected area. Watch a video of the SuperFlo Pump installation online @ www.thepondguy.com/superflo Tools Required: PVC Glue & Primer Step 1 Remove End Caps Step 2 Attach Plumbing & Submerge REMOVE the protective power cord end caps and connect the power cord to the power lead. ATTACH plumbing to the pump discharge using PVC glue and primer. The pump discharge is set up for 4 plumbing, however 3 may be used with the included reducer fitting. SUBMERGE the SuperFlo Pump in a flat area in your pond, pump vault or pond skimmer. INSTALLING YOUR SUPERFLO PUMP: Check Valve Rubber Coupler PVC Elbow Step 2 (CON T) If installing in a pump vault or pond skimmer we recommend connecting a 90 degree elbow, a check valve* as well as a rubber coupler for easy removal during maintenance (not included). See image for reference. *To ensure proper function please reference arrows on your check valve during installation. Step 3 Waterfall CONNECT the plumbing to your waterfall filter or spillway. CLEANING YOUR SUPERFLO PUMP: WARNING: Before performing any maintenance, always unplug the SuperFlo pump from the power source. CLEANING THE PRE-FILTER: Perform anytime there is a reduction in water flow. REMOVE large debris from the intake screen and discard. The use of a small brush or cloth may be helpful. If needed, remove the intake screen nut to clear the inside of the intake screen. TROUBLESHOOTING: Pump does not turn on: Check that the power cord is connected. Check to see if the circuit breaker is tripped. GFCI may be faulty. Check power cord for damage. Pump turns on and then shuts off: Verify pump is completely submerged for proper cooling. Check for debris clogging the pump intake. Reduced water flow: Check for debris clogging the pump pre-filter Verify that the water level is not low. Check plumbing for clogs.
