For sanitary applications and viscous media PG Series Pressure Transmitter with Gauge and Numeric Displays PG Pressure Transmitter for Sanitary Applications ifm introduces a new line of pressure transmitters that combine the best features of a gauge, a switch and a transmitter. The PG Series pressure transmitter is mounted in-line to provide quick, highly visible indication of sanitary process conditions found in the food processing, dairy, beverage, and waste water industries. The flush mount, stainless steel design offers high precision (0.2%) indication of pressure values. Long-term stability and excellent overload protection is achieved through the transmitter s ceramic cell sensing technology. Food processing Dairy and beverage industries Highly visible LED Ring A ring of LEDs can be programmed to indicate the position of the setpoint and resetpoint or to follow the position of the pointer (trend display). 4-digit LED display Alphanumeric display indicates the current pressure value which can be programmed to display different units (bar and psi). Optical touch-screen pushbuttons offer menu-guided parameter setup. Highly visible, easy to use The PG Series transmitter offers the benefits of a highly visible gauge with the functionality of a pressure sensor. The transmitter s pushbuttons establish application parameters, NO and NC functions, and setpoint and resetpoint. Additional functions include adjustable damping and an electronic lock function that prevents unauthorized changes. When power is off, the gauge pointer disappears behind the numeric display.
High-precision measurement of sanitary process conditions ifm s PG Series pressure family offers a 3-in-1 solution for sanitary pressure applications. The PG is a transmitter, switch and gauge in a light-weight, stainless steel housing. LED ring indicates setpoint and resetpoint and trend display Aseptoflex Vario adapter with different sealing systems (PEEK, and Viton) Analog display with scaling in bar and psi Rotatable display 350 for mounting flexibility Actual size Sanitary design and high protection rating (IP 69K) Does not require damping liquid If there is no power, the pointer disappears behind the numeric display Extended display range ifm s Aseptoflex adapters feature PEEK and Viton sealing for pharmaceutical and food and beverage applications. PEEK and Viton offer long-term sealing and are resistant to swelling and aggressive chemicals. Application parameters are setup via optical touch-screen pushbuttons Digital display bright LED display (no LCDs)

Ceramic cell sensing technology insures reliable pressure detection 3-in-1 Unit Transmitter and switch with the advantages of a gauge display. Gauge display Indicates the current operating pressure relative to the overall range of the unit. Pointer offers smooth indication of process condition Quick reference pointer does not require damping liquid and is driven by an integrated stepper motor that eliminates the typical shaking that occurs with mechanical pointers. Simple pushbutton setup Two optical pushbuttons establish application parameters, setpoint and resetpoint. Touch-screen surface eliminates pushbutton cavities and prevents liquid ingress. 4-digit LED display Numeric display indicates system pressure and set-up menu items such as analog scaling, display units, switch point. Rotatable display Entire display rotates 350 for optimal visibility. Ergonomic indentations on face aid in turning display. Reliable with high precision Long-term stability, excellent overload protection and high resistance to shock and vibration. The ceramic cell element resembles a plate capacitor with a reference electrode and measuring electrode placed 10 µm apart. The capacitance is inversely proportional to the distance between the electrodes. If the distance changes by a small value because of an increase in pressure applied to the cell, the capacitance changes proportionately. The signal is then evaluated by a microprocessor. The sensor can be placed in direct contact with media, insuring reliable pressure detection in sanitary applications. Base Reference electrodes Measuring electrodes Diaphragm Designed and tested for sanitary applications Temperature drift test Food and beverage processing applications expose transmitters to a wide temperature range. PG pressure transmitters are designed to experience minimal signal drift over a wide temperature range. Zero-leak design test The IP69K standard test duplicates the plant floor pressure cleaning conditions. The transmitter is exposed to a 1500 psi spray of water at 176 F for 30 seconds. The test is performed at specified angles using a spray nozzle located 4 from the switch.
