1. Motor-Scooters Only. This Protocol pertains to motor-scooter entries only. Motorcycle entries are administered by LakeErieLoop www.lakeerieloop.com. Contact Bill Murar at lakeerieloop@yahoogroups.com for motorcycle details. 2. Competition License. Riders MUST carry their duly issued official authenticated MSILSF Competition License at all times. This consists of a MSILSF 2013 Competition License stamped with the MSILSF 2013 Authentication Stamp. You are responsible for removing your Competition License from the plastic protector in order to receive the Starter and Finisher Time Stamps. 3. The Start. The rally starts from the Red Ball Garage, 142 East 31st Street (Between 3 rd & Lexington), Manhattan, NY 10016 (212) 683-2056 on Saturday, May 4th 2013 at 07:00 EST. Prior to departing you must obtain a MSILSF Starter Stamp Time Stamp on your Competition License. 4. MSILSF Postcard. You must deposit the pre-stamped/pre-addressed authenticated MSILSF Postcard issued to you with your name and Rider Number in the United States Mail anywhere along your route. 2
5. Receipts. You must purchase gasoline from stations along your route, obtain legible/dated paper receipts for your gasoline purchases, and submit all gasoline receipts, and motel receipts if any, to the MSILSF Official(s) at the conclusion of the rally. 6. Finisher Stamp. Upon arrival at the Portofino Hotel, 260 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach, CA 90277, you must check in with the Hotel Registration Clerk and obtain a MSILSF Finisher Stamp Time Stamp on your Competition License. 7. MSILSF Classes: I II III IV V 49cc to 100cc 101cc to 175cc 176cc to 300cc 301cc to 650cc 651cc to 850cc 8. 1 st Place Class Winner. The first rider in each MSILSF class will be declared the 1 st Place Winner of said class, and receive a 1 st Place Trophy recognizing her/his victory. 9. Finishers in Each Class. The second and successive riders in each MSILSF class to finish will be awarded Replica Trophies. 10. Participants. All participants will receive a Participant Trophy. 3
11. One Rider; One Scooter. Riders must complete the race on the scooter she/he starts on, entirely under the scooter s own power. Any trailering, trucking or towing, other than AAA Emergency Roadside Service, or similar service, transporting scooter and rider to a repair facility, will result in automatic disqualification. Paid invoices for enroute repairs must be presented to the Chief Tech Inspector at the finish. Riders caught cheating will be castigated and publicly reproved in the forums and on Facebook! 12. Moving Citations. Vehicle Code violation citations issued by any State Trooper, Highway Patrolman, Deputy Sheriff, Policeman, Public Safety Officer, Border Patrolman, or Federal Law Enforcement Officer must be presented to the MSILSF Technical Inspector immediately after obtaining the Finisher Time Stamp. A citation for a moving violation, such as speeding/unsafe speed, unsafe passing, DUI or reckless driving, may subject the rider to disqualification by the MSILSF Competition Committee. 13. National Motorsport Liability Waiver. All riders must complete, sign and date a National Motorsports Liability Waiver before starting the race. A copy is attached for your convenience. All riders must complete, sign and date the official MSILSF Cannonball Entry Form before starting the race.. A copy is attached for your convenience. Please return it ASAP to MSILSF by scanning and e-mailing to msilsf@yahoo.com, or by fax: (619) 425-7368. 15. No Minors. No rider under the age of eighteen (18) may compete per MSILSF Rules due to insurance considerations. 16. Driver s License. All riders must be in possession of a valid state driver s license, with a 2- wheel endorsement if required by the issuing state. Please bring your license with you to the venue for inspection, and send a copy to MSILSF ASAP by scanning and e-mailing to msilsf@yahoo.com, or by fax: (619) 425-7368. 17. Vehicle Plates. All scooters must be lawfully licensed, US or elsewhere. 18. Proof of Liability Insurance Coverage. All riders must possess a current valid policy of motor vehicle liability insurance, please bring your insurance card with you to the venue for 4
inspection, and send a copy to MSILSF ASAP by scanning and e-mailing to msilsf@yahoo.com, or by fax: (619) 425-7368. 19. Rider Support. Riders must provide their own support in the form of subscribing to a roadside assistance service. AAA cycle/rv roadside service provides for 100 miles of free towing. 20. Chase Vehicles. Chase vehicles must be specifically approved thirty (30) days prior to the start of the race by the Chief Technical Inspector. Please contact MSILSF at msilsf@yahoo.com. 21. Cell Phones. All riders are required to carry a working cell phone, the number to which must be listed on the entry form. Sat phones are encouraged to obviate cell coverage issues. 22. Limitation of Entries.
