Prciple Limit position switches # Warng! Function and system design The "Measure" and "Service" operatg status can be changed the followg ways: Manually Pneumatically Pneumatically via Topcal S P300 or Topclean S P30 with optional PR40 rsg block ll versions possible with limit position switch. Prciple sequence when movg the retractable assembly from "Service" to "Measure" Open ball valve Move assembly from "Measure" to "Service" Move assembly lose ball valve In the "Service" status (sensor moved back to the assembly), the ball valve seals the assembly off from the process. This means that cleang and calibration can take place and electrodes can be changed with terruptg the process. The rse chamber and the rse connections of the assemblies are open contact with the medium the measurg position, or at least when movg, and are thus exposed to the process pressure. For this reason, the let and let of the rse chamber must be protected by valves. These valves are available from Endress+Hauser as accessories (see product structure, "dditional equipment"). These valves close automatically the pneumatic version. The pneumatic limit position switches serve as control elements and determe the sequence of the dividual steps. The followg types of limit position switches are available dependg on the order version (product structure, "ssembly operation, ball valve"): "Pneumatic limit position switch" version: 4 pneumatic switches (type, see "Mechanical construction") "Electric limit position switch" version: 3 pneumatic and 2 ductive switches (types, see "Mechanical construction") 2 Endress+Hauser

The electrode holder moves from the medium to the assembly. 2. When the limit position is reached, the limit position switch S2 forwards pressure to position S3 (close ball valve) and position S4 (limit position switch "all valve closed") simultaneously. The ball valve () closes. 3. Once the ball valve is completely closed, a signal (6, "ssembly service" feedback signal) is sent from the limit position switch S4 (or the limit position switch S5 case of the version with electric limit position switches) to the transmitter / DS or to Topcal S / Topclean S. t the same time, pressure is applied to the rse chamber let valve (D). Requirements: air pressure of 58 to 116 psi (4 to 8 bar) air must be filtered (40 µm) and be free of water and oil no contuous air consumption mimum nomal diameter of the air les: 0.16 ches (4 mm). There must be a pressure-reducg valve upstream if the air pressure can crease to above 116 psi (8 bar) (cludg any short pressure surges). We recommend you also use a pneumatic throttle for lower pressures. This results a smoother assembly operation. Endress+Hauser offers such a throttle as an accessory (see chapter "ccessories"). Manual let safety seal (optional) The manual safety seal is a ball valve made of PVDF. Must be operated manually. Optionally, the assembly is supplied with a molded seal on the process side of the ball valve. This seal has a scraper function. This is especially recommended the followg cases: If the rse chamber, otherwise open to the process, should be protected durg operation. If material stickg to the electrode holder (caused by the medium) a should be scraped off when movg to service mode. The rse chamber and the ternal volume of the ball valve are always filled with medium. t least the short period between openg the ball valve and movg the electrode holder of the service position there is open contact to the medium.
