Replaceable Hammers An innovative new rotor design (Patent 7,850,107) will change the way the industry looks at swinging hammer machines. The hammers are individually bolted on for ease of service and replacement. No more full-length thru shafts to pull, pound or cut out in order to replace a single knife. Also, the ribbed rotor design reduces parasitic drag and eliminates the concerns of wearing through the surface of the skinned/covered rotors. Patented design. Mulching Door (optional) When installed the mulching door helps to reduce size of finished mulch and directs the discharge downward. Hardened Steel Components The Tree Hammer is manufactured with abrasion-resistant steel components in all high-wear body and shredding areas. Available as single or dual drive, the Loftness PTO drive line and belt system is standard on both the Tree Hammer 360 and Tree Hammer Carbide. But it s anything but standard when it comes to powerful performance. 1000 RPM PTO power is transferred through a heavy-duty 260 HP gearbox to a single or optional dual opposing output drive shafts. Power from the transmission is delivered to heavy-duty u -joints and opposing drive shafts supported by 2-inch ball bearings. The design of the single and optional dual shaft /belt drive system delivers incredible torque and balanced power to the 80-inch long rotor. Optional second drive. The belt system uses four grooved banded belts. Designed to smoothly transfer the power delivered by your equipment, this Loftness design utilizes an automatic tensioning system that ensures consistent and smooth power and long belt life. The main feature of the Loftness Tree Hammer is the 21- inch diameter rotor, delivering an 80 inch wide cutting width. Unequaled in the R.O.W. industry, the Tree Hammer 360 and Carbide Cutter rotors are factory balanced at full operating speed, utilizing state-of-the-art computerized balancing equipment.
