Focus on the user The VELA Blues range has been developed with focus on the user. A powerchair must offer mobility and comfort, but otherwise needs to be as discreet as possible.

Ergonomics and flexibility The back, seat and armrests have been designed in close collaboration with ergotherapists and VELA s own development and upholstery workshop. This means that a powerchair can be quickly and easily adapted to the special needs of the user, without the user having to choose between a handful of standard models. There are also a number of electric functions that can be combined as required: lift, tilt, back, liftable leg supports and seat belts. The seat unit is constructed from the best ergonomic materials The seat cushion is composed of different types of top-quality foam depending on the needs of the individual. The seat back is positioned according to the shape of the body using the adjustable straps. At the top of the seat back is the so-called shoulder support, which can be tilted to provide optimum back support. The chairs feature the following adjustments: position and height of armrests, seat depth and position as well as the height and position of the back support relative to the seat. This means that it can swing around the body s centre line in just the same way as when a walking person changes direction, making it easy to manoeuvre around furniture and people etc. It can also be used outdoors to a limited extent, if there is a firm surface to drive on. VELA Blues 100 a compact powerchair for indoor use VELA Blues 100 is primarily designed for indoor use but can also be used for short local trips. This is a combined office chair and powerchair, where the advantages of both are integrated into a single unit. This particularly compact chair can be raised and lowered like an office chair, enabling the user to easily transfer him/herself from e.g. an ordinary chair to the powerchair. This means that it can swing around the body s centre line in just the same way as when a walking person changes direction, making it easy to manoeuvre around furniture and people etc. VELA Blues 400 VELA Blues 300 a true two-in-one powerchair with a swivel seat VELA Blues 300 is a compact little chair with a small turning radius. It is the only chair on which the seat can turn through 180 degrees, giving it two key advantages: n The user can turn 180 degrees without turning the actual powerchair, which can be extremely practical in, for example, a small kitchen, or if the user needs to move into a car seat. n Changing between front and rear-wheel drive is straightforward, depending entirely on requirements. The possibility of changing between front and rear-wheel drive also makes the chair a perfect combination chair for both indoor and outdoor use. It has plenty of power for trips into town or elsewhere all it needs is a firm surface. It has larger wheels than the combi-powerchairs, and also features adjustable suspension for enhanced driving comfort.
