The emergency light must be installed by a competent person in accordance with the Building Regulations and the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671). This product is suitable for mounting on normally flammable surfaces such as wood, plasterboard or masonry. Emergency light fittings should have their own separate mains circuit, protected with an appropriate MCB or fuse. They should not share their supply with other lighting or electrical equipment. The emergency light is suitable for connection to a 220-240V~ 50Hz. This emergency light is for indoor use only. Ensure that after installation the emergency light remains accessible for regular maintenance and testing. INSTALLATION NOTE: Before drilling any holes, check that there are no hidden obstructions behind the mounting surface such as pipes or cables and that the ceiling will bear the weight safely. 1. Remove the 2 recessed screws and pull off the front cover. The front cover will slide down the wire supports for the sign to allow easier access. 2. Offer up the sign in the location required and mark the fastening positions on the ceiling (232mm between centres) 3. Drill the ceiling and fit appropriate plugs (not supplied) if required. 4. Cut out the required wiring entry point marked on both the main casing and corresponding front cover inner lip position. 5. Feed the wiring through the access hole previously made. Make connection to the supply using the terminal block provided. Ensure that the correct polarities are observed i.e.: Brown Live terminal L Blue Neutral terminal N. Link wire L to SW can be removed to change between maintained and nonmaintained. 6. Screw the main body to the ceiling using suitable screws (not provided). 7. Write the current date on the battery pack in the space provided. 8. Connect the battery to the socket on the PCB (see diagram) 9. Refit the front cover, which will slide up the wire supports by depressing the central ferrules on the chrome eyelets, making sure that it is securely screwed in place. 10. Turn on the power supply.
