NOTE: This Service Action affects both sold and unsold vehicles. NOTE: The VIN List is available on DealerCONNECT for all affected dealers. The VIN List has been inserted in the Service Tab under Rapid Response Transmittals. The dealers receiving the Rapid Response Transmittal Service Action are the Ship To dealers and the VIN s listed are specific to their dealership. All involved vehicles will be loaded into the VIP system. NOTE: This should be a top priority and be completed prior to sale to avoid suspect vehicles being delivered to customers. DISCUSSION: A number of vehicles, equipped with a Luxury Group II equipment package (sales code AWK) were built without the wiring circuitry to allow proper function of the automatically dimming exterior passenger mirror as identified on the mirror and the window sticker, (Monroney Label). Sold Vehicles A letter is being sent to each owner of the delivered vehicles. The owner will be offered a voucher for $85.00. If the owner refuses the voucher and insists that the auto dimming feature be made operational, the dealer is authorized to perform the repairs. 13. Remove the white plastic connector bracket from the door side of the white body connector (Figure 6). Figure 6

14. Route the door overlay wiring harness along the original door wiring harness (Figure 7). The overlay harness must route inside the door and through the door-to-body grommet to the door side of the white body connector. Secure the overlay harness to the original wiring harness using plastic tie straps (Figure 7). Figure 7

15. Unlock the secondary wire lock on the door side of the white body connector (Figure 8) NOTE: The secondary wire lock only needs to be lifted approximately 1/8 inch to release. Figure 8 16.
