Introduction Electrohydraulic-acting Spring-return rotary actuator 90 (Quarter-turn) fail-safe What s TIP-200S(-Ex-d)-20 : TIP-200S(-Ex-d)-20 is the single-acting spring operated actuator and power unit for damper. Oil pressure for opening the damper and spring restitution for closing the damper is used. TIP has two types, one is normal type TIP-200S-20, the other is flameproof enclosure type TIP-200S-Ex-d-20. Specification of TIP-200S-Ex-d-20 : TIP-200S-Ex-d-20 is approved according to the ATEX directive 94/9/EC, EN60079-0 and EN60079-1 and is built to meet the requirements for mounting in hazardous areas Group Ⅱ, Zone 1 and 2, Gas class ⅡC and temperature class T6. For this type, shielded power supply cable and ATEX approved cable gland must always be used. TIP-200S-Ex-d-20 is rated the duty cycle S3:2.5% (t RUN,MAX :1min.) and can used at specific ambient temperature from -20 to 60. As a consequence the actuator receives a too low tension and does not start. Therefore, the power and cable size should be considered as bellows ; TR capacity is recommended to be 1,000VA and Cable size is recommended to be 1.5 SQ 2
Data Sheet Electrical Diagram: The motor and pump starts directly by means of power terminal. The motor works for 11seconds after the pressure has exceeded the pressure switch set point. When the pressure drops below set point due to system leakage, the motor reactivates. The solenoid check valve will keep activating as long as the unit has power on. 3

Piston pump Operation of TIP-200S(-Ex-d)-20 : For opening the damper, motor (3) is activated and pump (13) suctions the oil from tank (1). To prevent the oil from flowing back to tank, the solenoid check valve (11) must be energized and the oil is supplied for actuator through the check valve (12). Input pressure and flow is set from the pump safety valve (6) at 135bar and the check valve (12) each. The motor is deactivated and the actuator is hydraulically locked. If the solenoid check valve (11) is de-energized, the oil goes back from the actuator by spring restitution through the orifice (9) and the solenoid valve (11) to the tank and then the damper is closed. Closing speed of damper is controlled by the orifice (9). Emergency operation of TIP-200S(-Ex-d)-20 : Cross-over valve (5) is normally opened. In case of emergency, closing the cross-over valve (5) is necessary and then a portable hand pump is connected to the quick connection (8). Turn the handle of pilot valve on the hand pump to the open position. With pressure to B which causes the damper to open. When reaching the required position, turn the handle of pilot valve on the hand pump to the center position for preventing from valve closing. Then hand pump can be disconnected. For closing the damper, hand pump is connected to the quick connection (8). Turn the handle of pilot valve on the hand pump to the closed position. Then the actuator is closed without pumping. Close the Cross-over valve (5) after all the emergency operation. 4
