The First Annual Municipal Electric Champion Awards To recognize the important contributions of municipalities to sustainable mobility, specifically to electromobility, Electric Mobility Canada and ICLEI Canada are introducing the Municipal Electric Champion Awards. Awards will be presented at the EV2019VÉ Conference and Trade Show on May 8 th, 2019, to three Canadian municipalities that have made a tangible commitment to electromobility one in each of the following categories: (1) Municipalities with a population of over 200,000 people (2) Municipalities with a population of between 50,000 and 200,000 people (3) Municipalities with a population of less than 50,000 people For the 2019 awards, municipalities will be evaluated based on their pro-ev initiatives undertaken to date, including but not limited to the conversion of the municipal fleet to electric vehicles, the installation of charging infrastructure, the programs, measures, incentives, policies and regulations to facilitate and encourage adoption of electromobility by residents and businesses. Submissions will be evaluated using the following criteria: Percentage of municipal budget allocated to electromobility Percentage of the municipal light-duty vehicle fleet converted to electromobility Percentage of the municipal transit fleet converted to electromobility Percentage of all other vehicles in the municipal fleet converted to electromobility Measures to encourage the conversion of shared mobility fleets operating in the municipality Charging infrastructure deployment (per capita number of DCFCs and Level 2 chargers deployed) by the municipality or with partners Measures, programs, incentives, regulations to encourage the adoption of EVs by the municipality s residents and businesses Deadline for submission: March 15, 2019. Email confirmation of submissions will be sent as soon as submission emails are received. Winners will be announced at EV2019VÉ. However, to ensure that winners have sufficient time to secure travel to the event, winners will be notified by April 5, 2019.

2.6 Incentives for residents and businesses Through what measures (financial or other) does your municipality encourage the purchase of EVs by residents? Please provide a brief description of each measure and supporting material where appropriate (shared material will not be shared with any third party). Examples include purchase incentives to encourage purchase of EVs by residents and local businesses, institutions, parking privileges to EVs, reserved lanes for EVs, collaboration with property developers to include EV infrastructure in new developments.
