SPECIFICATIONS OF Ni-Cd BATTERY BANK ANNEXURE-Z Supply, Installation and commissioning of Ni-cd battery bank for high rate of discharge type KPH 125V 210 AH consisting of 103 number of cells. Detail technical specification is given below 1. IS/IEC CONFORMITY: Bank shall be supplied as per IS 10918 & IEC 623 with latest amendments. 2. SITE CONDITIONS: (a) Climate: Wet & Tropical (b) Temperature Range: 1.1 to +55 degree Celsius. (c) Electrical Ground Resistivity: 30-40 Ohm Meter. (d) Relative Air Humidity: 100% Max (e) Site above MSL: Less than 1000 meters. (f) The atmosphere in the factory shall be laden with Urea dust. The air may contain Ammonia Vapors. 3. FEATURES: (a) The cells shall be vented type, assembled and end plastic container with covers. Covers shall be fitted with spray proof vent plugs. (b) All cell terminals shall be of adequate current carrying capacity. Cell terminal post shall be equipped with connector bolts. Cell terminal posts, Bolts and associated hardwares shall be electrolyte resisting material. (c) Electrolyte level indication lines for minimum and maximum levels shall be marked on maintenance access side of each jar or container. (d) Each battery shall be rated for specified ampere hours at five hours rate of discharge to end voltage of 1.00 volts per cell. (e) Nickel plated copper intercell connectors shall be used for connecting up adjacent cells and rows. Bolts, nuts and washers shall be nickel-plated steel/stainless steel. All terminals and cell inter-connectors shall be fully insulated or have insulation shrouds (f) Each cell shall be contained in close top container preferably transparent and unbreakable and shall incorporate positive and negative
plates and separators in position. Wooden separators shall not be acceptable. The cells shall be provided with inter cell connectors, Nut bolts along with two flat and one spring washer. Connector must be suitable to take full current and should be designed to withstand short circuit current also. Inter row, Inter Tier Connector and take off terminals shall be designed for rated current and shall also be able to withstand Short circuit current.. (g) The battery units shall be complete with all necessary components such as lids, plugs, separators and and buffers, inter cell connectors, cell insulators. (g) The required quantity of electrolyte plus 10% extra quantity complying relevant standards IS 10918 shall be supplied in suitable non returnable containers along with battery. 4. ACCESSORIES FOR MAINTENANCE You will supply the following accessories for maintenance along with main battery bank: (a) Syringe type hydrometer suitable for specific gravity readings 04 No s (b) Thermometer with specific gravity correction scale 02 No s (c) Cell Testing Voltmeter (3-0-3) complete with leads 02 No s (d) Insulated Spanners (For each type of battery) 02 sets (e) Rubber Syringe 02 No s (f) Funnel 02 No s (g) Jug 02 No s (h) Apron 02Nos (i) Rubber Gloves 02 sets (j) Teak Wood Stand For Hydrometers 02 Nos. 5. SPACE AVAILABLE FOR BATTERY STAND:
The battery bank being supplied by you has to be arranged in step type, three row stand with following limiting dimensions: Length: 2860mm, Width: 650mm, Height: 350mm approx.supply of battery stand shall be in party scope. 8. TEST 1.The Bidder shall have to submit along with offer, as pre-requisites, the complete Type test Reports of similar or higher rating battery bank, carried out within 5 years from the due date of Tender, from CPRI/NABL accredited/govt. recognized Test House failing which their offer may not be technically acceptable. 2. Guaranteed Test Particulars annexure 2 shall be duly filled and submitted along with offer. 2. Routine Test & Acceptance test certificates as per IS 10918 shall be furnished by the party along with the supply of material 3. Capacity test of the supplied battery bank shall be carried out by the party as per IS 10918.. 9. BUYBACK OF USED/UNSERVICEABLE BATTERIES Manufacturer shall buyback used/unserviceable batteries of similar rating from the substations where batteries are replaced. The bidder should quote their rates for buyback of old battery bank. 10. DOCUMENTS Documents, Test Certificates, Drawing etc. along with operational and maintenance Manuals, complete charging, initial charging, discharging procedure shall be supplied along with battery banks/ dispatch documents as per Annexure III.
