Passenger Information Notices 12.1 This brochure shows passenger information notices, which have been designed in response to both customer and operator suggestions. The uniform size and corporate design greatly improves the appearance of the bus. With many different bus types and layouts, this consistency will help in positioning the notices in the most appropriate locations. All notices contained in this brochure are mandatory and must appear on all buses of the relevant type. Promotional Campaign Notices will be displayed and updated on a periodic basis. They will be produced as 660 x 203mm notices. One of these will be for security, which must be permanently displayed. No smoking notices must also be permanently displayed. Bus types and designs vary, this brochure shows the ideal position or area for notices to appear. If you have any problems in placing the notices call Stewart Signs on 023 8025 4781 or email - tfl@stewartsigns.co.uk for advice. Specific Guidance Old notices must be completely removed and any adhesive residue cleaned off before applying new notices. New notices must not be placed over existing ones. No notices are to be placed on windows (this includes any externally facing notices) or on the backs of seats. When notices are placed next to each other they will be more effective and tidier if they are aligned and spaced carefully. Guidance for positioning is shown in the brochure. Once the position has been decided, please be consistent with placement on all similar vehicles. All London buses are fully accessible (except Routemaster on routes 9 and 15). The wheelchair notice will continue to be displayed directly by the ramp call button. All notices should be ordered from Stewart Signs at www.stewartsigns.co.uk. General Application Instructions are also available from the website. Restrictions Notices should be positioned in a location where they can be easily read, without being dangerous or causing an obstruction. Where it is not possible to apply a notice in the preferred location, it should be positioned as close as possible using the preferences shown on the following pages. Notices are only to be applied to flat panels or partitions. They are not to be positioned where they will be required to follow a contour in a moulded panel. Curved coving/ advertising panels are the only exception. Notices are to be positioned a minimum of 10mm from an existing notice, panel joint or feature except on the coving/advertising panels where the 660 x 203mm format has chosen to fit directly between the top and bottom extrusions. No generic multi-message notices are to be located up the side of the staircase or on the clear partitions at the top and bottom of the staircase. Some notices are required to be installed over a cut-out that has been designed into a panel for a CCTV camera lens. The notice should be applied and a cut-out produced to allow the camera to function.
