IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ ALL OF THESE BEFORE INSTALLING THE TRACK SYSTEM. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND REFER TO THEM WHEN ADDITIONS TO OR CHANGES TO THE SYSTEM ARE MADE. THIS IS A 12-VOLT SYSTEM This track system is to be supplied by a single branch 120-Volt circuit. This track system is not intended for use with a power supply cord or convenience receptacle adaptor. Page 1 When installing or using this track system, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: A) Read all instructions. B) Do not install this track in damp or wet locations. C) Do not cut any track sections. D) Do not install any part of a track system less than 5 feet above the floor. E) Use MR16 type lamps, 50-watt maximum with 300-watt transformer. F) Do not install any fixture assembly closer than 6inches from any curtain, or similar combustible material. G) Disconnect electrical power before adding to or changing the configuration of the track. H) Do not attempt to energize anything other than Flex II Track Lighting fixtures on the track. To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not attempt to connect power tools, extension cords, appliances, and the like to the track. I) Do not connect a track to more than one branch circuit unless the track is constructed so that it can be used with more than one branch circuit. Check with a qualified electrician. Although the track lighting system may seem to operate acceptably, a dangerous overload of the neutral may occur and result in a risk of fire. J) If you plan to install a dimmer, do so after the Flex II system has been installed to reduce the risk of damage to the dimmer. We recommend using a Lutron magnetic low-voltage dimmer (SLV600-P). K) At least 3 fixtures need to be installed on the track before the system can be powered.

For some specific information regarding this transformer, also see the instruction sheet included with the transformer. 2) Pick out a well-ventilated location for mounting your transformer. Be sure you have enough feed wiring to reach the track lighting system and the junction box, and the wiring is of the approved type (contact us if unsure about wire type). 3) Remove the cover from the top of the transformer by removing two screws and then pulling off the cover. (Figure A) 4) Insert the house wires into the transformer through the pre-cut hole and adapter, or punch out a new entry point. 5) Inside the transformer, join the white house wire with the thin white transformer wire, and the black house wire with the thin black transformer wire using wire nuts. Ensure all connections are tight. (Fig B) 5) Disconnect live feed wires from the transformer by releasing the wire nuts and screws on the adapter. (Fig C). 6) Route the live feed wires through the canopy, through the ceiling, and finally back into the transformer and tighten back the screws. Ensure there is enough live feed to reach the track. (Figure D) 7) Make sure all the connections are tight and replace the transformer cover. Unscrew Connect house wires to corresponding transformer wires using Wire Nuts. c Page 4 Installing ceiling stems 1) Based on your desired design, determine where approximately your track will run on the ceiling. 2) A stem should hold up each end of the track, and the remaining stems should have no more than 2 feet of track between them. 3) After you have mapped the locations of the stems on your ceiling, drill a 1/8" hole and insert a plastic wall insert at each of the desired stem locations. 4) Attach the base with ceiling mount and secure with screwdriver for each hole location. (Fig A) Inserting track through stems 1) Unscrew bottom of stem mount (cap), insert track. 2) Close the stem mount by screwing the cap back on. Page 5 Follow these instructions during first-time Flex II Track System installation, and when replacing the bulbs. Use only bulbs specified for use with your fixtures. A) Make sure the power is off B) Remember to allow the fixture and bulb enough time to cool down. C) If the fixture is installed, remove it from the track. D) Insert the pins from the MR16-type bulb into the pin holes (Fig. B1) of the fixture until the bulb is held tightly and securely in place, making sure the bulb is aligned properly (Fig B2). Do not attempt to twist the bulb and avoid bending the pins. Improper insertion may cause fixture failure.
