UFFLO Congratulations on purchasing the uffalo. The uffalo is a tiltable standing frame from R82. We are convinced, that it will fully live up to your expectations. The uffalo has been developed with an optimum of security and value in mind. The uffalo is for indoor use only, and is to be used on a levelled, non tilting surface only. This manual has been made to help you gain as much use from the uffalo as possible. 3
SFETY The uffalo has earned the CE-mark. This certifies that it meets all relevant European safety requirements. The durability of this product is 5 years when it is used on a daily basis. Hereafter the product must be renovated (by R82 personnel) to extend the lifetime. ctivate the brakes before placing the user on the tilttable. To obtain the best control, place the user on the tilttable when it s in horizontal position. The user must be fastened securely before tilting into a vertical position. Remove the CE-mark, when rebuilding the product or when using other than original R82 spare parts. The user must always be fastened securely with LL fixations (). Never leave your child unattended in this product. Ensure constant supervision by an adult. Incorrect use of the product, may cause serious injury to the user. Ensure that the belt is securely fixed to the frame before every use. We do not recommend moving the uffalo with the child in it over long distances, over joints in carpets, over uneven surfaces or outside. If the user is close to the max load or has a lot of involuntary movements, a strengthening of the bar () for the tilt-function should be considered on sizes 2 and 3. TOOLS Use the enclosed 6 mm llen key to perform the adjustments where described in this manual. MINTENNCE The uffalo functions without maintenance, but it is recommended to clean the frame frequently. Do not use any cleaning materials containing chlorine or methylated spirit. The carer should check and oil the swing away parts occasionally. We recommend to use a synthetic teflon oil. Do not expose the gasspring to pressure, high temperatures or perforation. djustments which are not described in this manual, must only be made by authorized R82 personnel. 4
WRRNTY R82 offers a 2-year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials and a 5-year warranty on breakage of the metal frame caused by defects in welds. The warranty would be adversely affected if the customer s responsibility of servicing and/or daily maintenance is not carried out according to the guidelines and intervals prescribed by the supplier and/ or stated in the manual. For further information, we refer to the R82 homepage/download. The warranty can only be sustained if the R82 product is in use in the same country where it was purchased and if the product can be identified by the serial number. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, including damage caused by misuse or neglect. The warranty does not extend to non-durable parts, which are subject to normal wear and tear and need periodic replacement. The warranty is null and void if non-original R82 parts/accessories are used, or if the product is repaired or altered by anyone other than an authorised R82 representative or by trained personnel officially recognised by R82 for repair and maintenance of R82 products. R82 reserves the right to inspect the product being claimed for and the relevant documentation before agreeing to the warranty claim, and to decide upon whether to replace or repair the defective product. It is the customer s responsibility to return the item being claimed for under warranty to the address of purchase. The warranty is given by R82 or, subsequently, an R82 dealer REDY FOR USE The uffalo is delivered in parts and folded to make it take up as little room as possible during transportation. To make your uffalo ready for use, please follow the below description. * Lift the standing frame out of the box and remove the plastic bag. The foot plates and straps are included in the small box. * Mount the foot plates in the vertical bars and fasten with the handles () on the sides. * Mount the straps in the slots on each side of the basis plate. Fasten with the finger screws (). * ngle the uffalo into wanted position. See instruction on page 11. Your uffalo is now ready for use. 5
STRPS & FOOT SUPPORTS The height of the straps is adjustable. Use the handle on the side (). djust the height () and angle (C) of the foot supports as shown by using the black levers. C C HEEL SUPPORT, "DUCK FOOT" ND FRME EXTENSION Heel support () and duck foot () are mounted alike. They are placed in the slots in the foot plates as shown below and fastened with the handle. Mounting the frame extension (C): 1. Pop out the stopper and remove the wheel. 2. Insert the extension. 3. Fasten the extension and the wheel with the screws. 4. Insert the stopper. 6
CHIN SUPPORT ND SIDE SUPPORTS Mount the chin support on the long, through bars as shown. Fasten carefully (). Side supports. Place the fittings in the slots as shown () and fasten in the desired height with the llen key (C). Then place the side supports in the fittings. djust sideways and fasten with the black lever (D). C D POMMEL Place the pommel in the slot centered on the board. Fasten from behind with the llen key (). HED SUPPORT WITH NOSE HOLE Dismount the old fittings on the back of the chest plate (). Use a 4 mm llen key (6 mm if uffalo size 3). Mount the new 3-pipe-fittings in the same holes on the plate. Place the bar with the head support in the mid pipe and fasten with the handle (). 7
KNEE SUPPORTS Place the fitting in the slot () and fasten in the desired height with the llen key. D Then place the bar () in the fitting and fasten with the handle (C). Mount the knee support bars in the fittings and fasten with the llen key. The knee supports adjust sideways. Use the finger screws on the back (D). C SWIN-WY KNEE SUPPORTS Place the fitting in the slot () and fasten in the desired height. Then place the bar () in the fitting and fasten with the handle (C). Mount the knee support bars in the fittings and fasten (D). * The knee supports adjust sideways. Use the handle (D). * Loosen the handle (D) to adjust the depth. * The knee supports themselves are angle and sideway adjustable (E) using the 4 mm llen key. * Push down the red button on the fitting (F) to swing away the knee supports. F D C The carer should check and oil the swing away parts occationally - at least every 3 months. E 8
EXTR CUSHION Remove the upper trunk support. Move the two long throughbars to be able to fit both the extension pieces and the upper trunk as shown. Lead the bars through the extra cushion and the trunk support. Fasten with the handle () CK SUPPORT Remove the two long go-through-bars. Place the mounting brace for the back support and take the through-bars back down through the mounting brace and into place () Fasten the mounting brace on the go-throughbars with the handles. Fit the bars of the back support in the mounting brace and fasten with the llen key (C). The pad on the back support can be adjusted sideways (D). The vertical bar with the pad swings up and away, making it easy to get in and out of the uffalo. D C 9
TLE C D To mount the table, start by removing the upper trunk support. Then place the table on the long through bars (), and place the upper trunk support again. Use the llen key to adjust height () and depth (C). Use the black lever to adjust the angle (D). The table can be turned around and used for front lying users. Dismount the horizontal bars (C) and remount them in the holders from the opposite side. 10
MNUL TILT The uffalo size 1 with manual tilt angles from vertical into the horizontal position by pressing the foot pedal () down. It is important to hold on to the tilt table before the foot pedal is activated and while the angle is being adjusted. The angle adjustment function can be locked to prevent it from tilting by mistake. The small metal part () on the reverse side of the foot pedal can be turned to activate/deactivate the safetylock as shown in the diagram. The uffalo size 2 and 3 with manual tilt angles from vertical into the horizontal position by loosening the handle (C). The security lock (D) will hold the tilt table. Hold on to the tilt table and pull out the security lock (D). Release the security lock when the tilt table is in the required position. Fasten the handle (C) securely It is important to hold on to the tilt table before the security lock is released and whilst the angle is adjusted. C D 11
1 MOUNTIN THE POWER TILT 1/2 This is to show how you mount Power Tilt on a standard uffalo. Power Tilt is only available for uffalo size 2 & 3. 1) In order to attach the control box, fasten the plate in the holes. Then attach the control box to the plate. = power cable (220 V) = remote control cable 2 2) Dismount the bar for the manual tilt at the top. Use an llen key and a 13 mm fork wrench. 3) Then dismount the bar for the manual tilt below. Use an llen key and a 13 mm fork wrench. 3 12
MOUNTIN THE POWER TILT 2/2 4 4) The fitting for the manual tilt bar has to be exchanged with the new one. 5) Place the bar for the power tilt in the new fitting. Use an llen key and a 17 mm fork wrench. 6) Place the bar for the power tilt in the fitting below. Then connect cables from the electric motor and the remote control to the control box. C = control box cable Charging the battery: For an optimum lifetime of the battery it must charge for at least 12 hours before use. 5 1) Connect the charger to the socket. 2) When the battery box is plugged it starts charging. 3) Charge the battery. To gain the optimal profit of the angle adjustment function, the batteries must be charged every night. The batteries can not be charged too much, but do not ever let them drain completely. Do not leave the user alone with access to the remote control and do not leave the remote control within reach of other children. The power angling is possible during the charging. 6 C 13

CRE ND MINTENNCE PUR ll parts made of PU material must be wiped off with a cloth frequently. WHEELS/RKES all bearings: The ball bearings require no maintenance. Clean the wheels frequently to make them run more smoothly and make the brakes function optimally. NO lubricating oil is required around the brakes. Wheels that are worn out must be replaced. FRME Tighten all screws on the frame on a regular basis, especially when the Toucan has been adjusted. lso, it is important to keep the frame clean, both for the users comfort and the longevity of the standing frame. Wash the frame with car shampoo or washing up liquid. If the Toucan is especially dirty, a grease remover may be used. INSPECTION It is important to tighten all screws on the standing frame on a regular basis. ll screws which secure the accessories must be checked, at least once a month. To avoid sharp edges, it is important to check all rail-ends have end caps. lso, it is important to check for any cracks or faults in the frame, PVC parts, etc. REPIR If there is a problem with your Toucan you should contact your dealer at once. Defective frames should not be used. If your standing frame needs reconditioning or repair, only original R82 parts may be used. ccessories or available spare parts which are broken can be forwarded to R82 for repair. If there is a problem with any basic parts, the whole frame must be returned to R82 for repair. R82 will not be held responsible for damage or injury caused by use of non-original parts or repairs made by non-authorised R82 personnel. 17
