Welcome Welcome to the Neighborhood Crow Wing County is located in the state of Minnesota with the county seat being the city of Brainerd. The county was formed in 1857 and officially organized in 1870. The county is named for the Crow Wing River, which is itself named for an island in the river which is shaped like the wing of a crow. Crow Wing County is also included in the Micropolitan Statistical Area. There is plenty to see and do here in the Crow Wing County and Brainerd Area.
