Heavy Rescue Model DFC1163R22 Winterville Fire-Rescue-EMS Winterville, NC Winterville upgraded their rescue response capabilities with a 22-ft extreme-custom heavy rescue mounted on a Spartan MetroStar LFD custom cab and chassis with 10 raised roof. The chassis is powered by a Cummins ISL, 400-hp engine. A 21,500# front axle supports the 238 wheelbase. The drivers seat is 8-way electrically adjusted Bostrom ABTS. The officer and four rear seats are Bostrom with SecureAll SCBA brackets. The rear facing seats are angled inward for increased leg room. A 20 wide x 65 high vertical cabinet is installed on the rear wall, one left and one right, for storage of medical equipment, thermal imager and other electronic equipment. They feature a one-touch hinged door. Four (4) 22-3/4 deep coffin compartments are provided on the roof for additional storage of timbers, pike poles and ladders. A 30KW hydraulic generator provides more than enough power for flood lights, hydraulic power units, cord reels and outlets for refrigerator and other appliances. The vehicle is fully multiplexed and features all Federal Quadra Flare LED warning lights, Whelen Freedom LED light bar, LED Roto-Ray, LED tail lights, LED Traffic Director light bar and recessed LED compartment lights. A Q2B and electronic siren with two speakers in the bumper. Rear pre-connected hydraulic rescue tools, roof access ladder and ground ladder load and unload assist rollers.
Every square inch is specially configured. All tall compartments are accessible using fold-down step platforms. Note the two blue slide-out trays in the first compartment. They are 36 deep at floor level. The second compartment features four 6000 psig ASME air receivers, two-bottle fill station, ten spare SCBA bottle storage tubes and vertical air bag storage slots permitting storage of 36 deep air bags. The two wheelhouse compartments are transverse with storage for shoring timbers, struts and isolated rope compartment. The tray at floor level in the aft wheehouse compartment slides out either side of the body. A slide-out Speedi-Dry hopper in the aft wheel skirt panel provides instant deployment. Note also the recessed LED strip lights. Drop-down compartment access step platforms, recessed steps in wheelskirt and wheel step bar provide easy access to equipment regardless of where it is stored. Two removable tripod flood lights on the left rear provide lighting either on the truck or remotely attached to cord reel. The Rescue Vehicle Engineering Leader The 28 front bumper features to hose reels and storage for pre-connected hydraulic tools. Two Havis 750-watt flood lights provide plenty of work zone illumination. LED Intersector lights are provided at an angle and straight to the side. A NightScan light tower with six flood lights is mounted behind the blue enclosure on the cab roof. This 60 wide compartment features a five-drawer tool box is mounted in front of four ASME air receivers against the back wall. A cord reel with 200-ft 10/4 cable and air hose reel are mounted in the ceiling. A Holmatro hydraulic power unit is mounted next to the reels.
