Product Overview The BAUHN Power Meter can measure the power consumption of electric appliances and carbon emissions, as well as calculate the cost of the electricity being used. It will help you to track your electricity consumption and potentially reduce your power bill and carbon emissions. 9

Product Overview (Cont.) Reading the Display 1. The Timer on the top of the LCD screen displays the total time the appliance has been measured using the Power Meter. It will begin in minutes and seconds. After one hour has elapsed the display will change to hours and minutes. After 24 hours the timer will reset to zero. 2. The middle section of the LCD displays the current electrical parameter. Press the ENERGY button to switch between monitoring voltages, current, frequency, power factor, overload power and present power. 3. The bottom section of the LCD screen displays the cost and accumulated usage statistics. Press the COST button to change between accumulated energy cost, electric power usage, cost per kwh, the total number of days monitored and the CO2 volume in kg. 10

Product Operation Connecting Appliances 1. Remove the plastic pull tab from the battery compartment at the rear of the product to access the internal batteries. 2. Plug the Power Meter into the mains socket. 3. Plug the appliance you wish to monitor into the exposed socket of the power meter. 4. Switch the mains socket power switch to ON. 5. Use the connected appliance as normal - the Power Meter will now monitor the energy used by the appliance. TIP: The internal batteries will allow you to set the Power Meter functions before plugging into the mains power. Setting the Electricity Price 1. Press COST button for three seconds to enter electricity price setting mode. When COST/KWh on the LCD is displayed, use the UP button to set the rate. Use the SET button to navigate between the digits. When you have finished setting the rate, press the COST button to save your settings. 2. The default value for electricity price field displays as 1.00 COST/KWh. 11

Product Operation (Cont.) 3. If no button is pressed within ten seconds, the device will automatically exit the electricity price setting mode. Setting the Overload Limit 1. Press ENERGY for three seconds to enter the Overload Mode. When OVERLOAD on the LCD is displayed, use the UP button to enter the value. Use the SET button to move decimal place. When you have finished setting the chosen overload limit, press the ENERGY button to save your setting. 2. The default overload value is 3680W. When the set overload limit is exceeded, OVERLOAD will flash on the LCD screen. Troubleshooting Problem Power Meter isn t turning on Power Meter isn t showing the right information Power Meter isn t counting the energy usage Power Meter isn t displaying any information How can I find out the cost of my electricity in KWh? Solution The battery in the Power Meter may be flat. Replace the batteries by using a screwdriver to open the battery compartment at the rear of the product. Replace the batteries using 2 x LR44 batteries, observing the correct polarity. Try resetting the Power Meter to its default setting (see page 9 regarding the RESET button). Re-program your settings. Power Meter Repair and Refurbished Goods or Parts Notice Unfortunately, from time to time, faulty products are manufactured which need to be returned to the supplier for repair. Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or files stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost.
