SERIN MONOBLOCK LAVATORY FAUCET with Speed Connect Drain Installation Instructions 0.0 Congratulations on purchasing your American Standard faucet with Speed Connect drain, a feature found only on American Standard faucets. Certified to comply with ANSI A.8. *Your new American Standard faucet is designed to work only with the Speed Connect drain. To ensure that your installation proceeds smoothly-please read these instructions carefully before you begin. Recommended tools INSTALL Screwdriver Channel Locks Turn off hot and cold water FAUCET CAUTION supplies before beginning. Adjustable Wrench Tubing Cutter Seat SEAL () into under side of ESCUTCHEON RING (). Seat ESCUTCHEON RING () with collar facing up into groove in faucet base. Feed FAUCET SUPPLIES (), MOUNTING STUD () and CABLE ASSEMBLY (8) through ESCUTCHEON RING () and the mounting hole of lavatory or mounting surface. Figure A. Figure A From below, push GASKET () and RETAINING WASHER () onto MOUNTING STUD (). Secure Faucet with MOUNTING NUT (), pulling faucet to front of sink, so SUPPLIES () rests against mounting hole. Before final tightening, make sure collar on MOUNTING NUT () is seated into RETAINING WASHER (). Figure B. Adjust Faucet so that it is centered. Tighten MOUNTING NUT () to complete faucet mounting. POP-UP Remove CLEAR PLASTIC COVER (). Remove CARDBOARD SPACER () from under POP-UP (). Tighten TAILPIECE () on BODY before installing BODY. Fig. B. Fig. A. Fig. B. BODY REMOVE FLANGE Thread FLANGE () counter-clockwise and remove FLANGE () and FOAM GASKET () from drain body. Fig. A. Thread LOCKNUT () clock-wise to bottom of drain body. Push GASKET () down against LOCKNUT (). Fig. B. Fig. A. Fig. B. INSTALL FROM BELOW FIXTURE REAR OF SINK From under side of SINK install BODY () up through drain outlet. Note: No plumber s putty or caulk is required. The CABLE ATTACHMENT POINT () must face towards the rear of the SINK. Install FOAM GASKET () and FLANGE () onto drain body from above SINK and tighten FLANGE () firmly. OUTLET TIGHTEN LOCKNUT Tighten LOCKNUT () firmly with Adjustable Wrench or Channel Locks. FLANGE GASKET AND POP-UP KNOB Fig. A. DOWN Check FLANGE in SINK to ensure that WHITE FOAM GASKET () is fully compressed and not visible. Fig. A. POP-UP KNOB () must be fully down. Fig. B. ATTACH CABLE CONNECTOR Fig. A. Fig. B. Thread CABLE CONNECTOR () clockwise onto BODY CONNECTION () and hand tighten. Fig. A. Your new POP-UP installation is now complete. Fig. B. Note: Tailpeice on pop-up drain is -/ O.D. Fig. B. -/ O.D. 8 CHECK OPERATION OF POP-UP Operate LIFT KNOB () to verify that STOPPER () opens and closes. Note: If STOPPER () does not open and close properly then refer to the troubleshooting section of these instructions. 9 MAKE WATER SUPPLY AND WASTE CONNECTIONS Connect FLEXIBLE SUPPLIES (, ) directly to wall supplies. Connection on fitting supplies are /8" compression. Connect left SUPPLY () to Hot (Marked with a Red Band) and right supply to COLD () wall supply. Faucet supplies are 0" long from faucet base. Note: If additional supply length is required, installer must purchase additional parts separately. Important: If SUPPLY HOSES (, ) are to long, loop as illustrated to avoid kinking. Connect -/ O.D. tailpiece on POP-UP to waste outlet. APPROX. 0" RED BAND BLUE BAND /8" COMPRESSION HOT COLD

0 TEST INSTALLED FITTING With HANDLE () in OFF position, turn on WATER SUPPLIES () and check all connections for leaks. Remove AERATOR (). Operate HANDLE () to flush water lines thoroughly. ON OFF HOT COLD Replace AERATOR (). CHECK CONNECTIONS Operate POP-UP KNOB () and fill Bidet with water. Check that STOPPER () makes a good seal and retains water in Bidet. If STOPPER () does not seal properly, please refer to Troubleshooting section in these instructions. Release POP-UP KNOB () down and check all drain connections and "P" trap for leaks. Tighten if necessary. WASTE OUTLET P TRAP SERVICE CAUTION CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Turn off hot and cold water supplies before beginning. To remove or replace cartidge: Turn valve to OFF position. +HOTTER Pull out PLUG BUTTON () and remove HANDLE SCREW (). Pull off HANDLE () and CAP (). Unthread CARTRIDGE NUT () and remove. Pull out CARTEIDGE (). Inspect CARTRIDGE () and O-RINGS () for debris and COLDER clean if necessary. Clean MANIFOLD (8) and rinse clean. Reinstall CARTRIDGE () and O-RINGS () onto MANIFLOD (8). 9 Reinstall CARTRIDGE NUT (), CAP () and HANDLE ASSEMBLY (). If spout drips, operate handle several times from OFF to ON and HOT to COLD position. Do not force - handle turns only 90. 0 ADJUST HOT LIMIT SAFEYT STOP By restricting HANDLE rotation and limiting the amount of hot water allowed to mix with the cold, the HOT LIMIT SAFETY STOP (9) reduces risk of accidental scalding. To lower the 0 maximum hot water temperature of your faucet, all you need to do is adjust the setting on the HOT LIMIT SAFETY STOP (9). 9 Note: The HOT LIMIT SAFETY STOP (9) is set at the maximum hot temperature setting from the factory. Fig. A. 0 To adjust HOT LIMIT SAFETY STOP: Remove HANDLE ASSEMBLY (), CAP () and CARTRIDGE NUT (). Set the CARTRIDGE STEM (0) to the OFF position and rotate it clockwise until stops. Fig. B. 9 Rotate the CARTRIDGE STEM (0) counter-clockwise to a colder setting mark in the HOT LIMIT SAFETY STOP (9). Fig. C. Lift up the HOT LIMIT SAFETY STOP (9) and rotate it to coincide again with the stop in the base of the CARTRIDGE STEM (0). Fig. D. Replace the HOT LIMIT SAFETY STOP (9). Reinstall CARTRIDGE NUT (), CAP () and HANDLE ASSEMBLY (). DO NOT: DO NOT CLEAN THE PRODUCT WITH SOAPS, ACID, POLISH, ABRASIVES, HARSH CLEANERS, OR A CLOTH WITH A COARSE SURFACE. Speed Connect Drain Troubleshooting Guide If sink does not hold water even though Stopper is in the down position: Follow CABLE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE. If Stopper does not raise up fully or sink drains too slowly: Follow CABLE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE. If you need to remove the Stopper: Follow STOPPER REMOVAL PROCEDURE. If you would like the ability to remove your Stopper simply by lifting it out of the drain: Follow STOPPER INSTALLATION PROCEDURE for Unlocked mode. CABLE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE Disconnect the Cable from the Drain by threading the Cable Connector () counter-clockwise. Fig. A. Look at the area on the Drain Body where the Cable was attached and locate the component labeled as Cam in the illustration. Fig. B. Use a small screwdriver to rotate the Cam in the clockwise direction as far as it will go. At this point the Stopper should be in the UP position. Fig. B, C. Push DOWN on the Lift-Knob to make sure it is fully down. Fig. C. Re-attach the Cable to the Drain Body Connection () by threading the Cable Connector () clockwise onto the Drain Body Connection () and hand-tighten. Fig. A. Fig. A. Fig. B. Fig. C. DOWN CAM RE-ATTACH M9889 Rev.. DISCONNECT CAM CAP STOPPER STOPPER REMOVAL PROCEDURE Disconnect the Cable from the Drain by threading the Cable Connector () counter-clockwise. Fig. A. Look at the area on the Drain Body where the Cable was attached and locate the component labeled as Cam and Cam Cap in the illustration. Fig. B. Use fingers or small screwdriver under either side of the Cam Cap to pry it out from the Drain. Fig. D. Remove the Cam by pulling it straight out while wiggling gently to loosen the Rubber Seal. STOPPER INSTALLATION PROCEDURE The Stopper can be installed two ways, Locked Mode (Stopper cannot be removed) or Unlock Mode (Stopper is removable). Locked Mode: Look at the Plastic Loop at the bottom of the Stopper and notice that the Loop is on one side of the Stopper. Fig. G. To install the stopper in Locked mode, insert the Stopper into the Drain so that the Plastic Loop is facing toward the rear of the Sink and the American Standard logo is facing front. Rotate Stopper slightly if necessary so that the Stopper slides all the way down.fig. G. Re-install the Cam into the Drain, rotating the Cam if necessary to make sure it is fully inserted. Fig. J. Re-install the Cam Cap, making sure the guide teeth are facing outward. If the Cam Cap does not snap into place, then rotate the Cam to make sure it is fully inserted. Fig. K. Re-attach Cable. LOGO LOOP TOWARD REAR OF SINK Locked Mode (Vandal Proof) Fig. G. Unlocked Mode: Look at the Plastic Loop at the bottom of the Stopper and notice that the Loop is on one side of the Stopper. Fig. H. To install the stopper in Unlocked mode, insert the Stopper into the Drain so that the Plastic Loop is facing toward the front of the Sink and the American Standard logo is facing rear. Rotate Stopper slightly if necessary so that the Stopper slides all the way down. Fig. H. LOGO 80 Fig. H.
