All materials meet or exceed original specifications for quality and reliability. 2 This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules and with RSS-210 of the industry Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

VEHICLE PREPARATION 1. Test the vehicle s power door locks to ensure they operate correctly. 2. Lower one or more of the passenger windows so the keys do not get locked in the vehicle. 3. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. Overview The remote car start/keyless entry/security module harness will interface with the existing Kia ignition switch, brake and ETWIS module connectors, and one center splice connection in the passenger kick panel. Also, a (2) wire jacketed harness will be routed through the bulkhead, from a hood-mounted rollerball safety switch. Vehicle Preparation 1. Remove driver s side lower dash panel, located directly under the steering column. A. Remove (2) screws on back of hood release. B. Remove (2) screws on bottom left side and right side of dash panel. C. Remove side dash panel with trim removal tool. Remove (2) screws securing dash panel. D. Unsnap dash panel - (7) snap clips are located on the back side, upper & right edge of the dash panel. E. Disconnect electrical connectors and remove diagnostic connector from bracket. 3

2. Remove steering column shroud. A. Remove (3)screws and the plastic tilt handle plug. B. Pull apart shroud and remove. 3. Remove metal knee bolster. A. Remove (2)10mm bolts and (2) 10mm nuts. 4. Remove driver s side A-pillar trim panel. A. Remove plastic plug at the top of the A-pillar. B. Remove (1) screw exposed by removing plastic plug. C. Carefully remove A-pillar trim panel. 4

5. Remove passenger s side sill plate & kick panel. A. Gently pull up and remove sill plate. B. Remove kick panel screw exposed by removing the sill plate. Gently remove the kick panel (3 pop clips hold it in place). 6. Accessing the ETWIS module. A. Carefully Remove left and right center dash AC duct panels by using a trim removal tool. B. Remove (8) screws from upper center dash panel - (4) screws on each side. Remove upper panel. C. Remove (4) screws from AC control unit - (2) screws on each side. Disconnect electrical connectors from the AC control unit & remove. D. Remove (6) remaining screws from the lower center dash panel - (3) screws on each side. Remove lower dash panel (ash tray/pocket) assembly. E. Disconnect electrical connector. 5

F. Remove the (4) screws holding the trim panel to the left of the heater control cavity and remove the panel. Note: If the vehicle is equipped with automatic climate controls then there will be a sensor located behind the slotted area in this panel. This sensor will have a rubber tube connected to it which must be disconnected to remove the panel. Please reference the reassembly instructions on page 17 pertaining to this sensor. 7. Remove ETWIS module. A. Remove (2) 10mm nuts holding ETWIS module. B. Remove (3) electrical connectors from the ETWIS module. 8. Install hood safety rollerball switch. A. Mount the switch to the driver s side hood as shown in the picture. Use both mounting holes. Use supplied small tie wrap to secure switch harness to hood hinge. 6 B. Drill 1/4 hole in the valley, at edge of cowl through the plastic cowl trim and the metal cowl panel beneath it. Use supplied foam tape to tape down switch harness in cowl area and run harness down toward the clutch knockout plate. Drill 1/4 hole

C. Drill 1/4 hole in center of the clutch knockout plate. Route switch harness through hole into vehicle and seal hole with silicone sealant. NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with anti-lock brakes the hole will need to be drilled form the inside of the vehicle to the outside. To do this the ATCU module will need to be moved out of the way by removing the (2) 10mm nuts mounting the module to the bulkhead. ATCU 9. Install dipole antenna. A. Clean the area of windshield where the antenna will be mounted with an alcohol-based glass cleaning solution. B. Mount the dipole antenna to the windshield approximately 0.5 below the mirrors lowest attachment point and/ or any windshield electronic gridwork. Remove protective backing. Press firmly to ensure a good glass to adhesive bond. 7

C. Route the antenna cable to the left side area of the steering column. Tuck the cable behind the headliner and down the A-pillar. Using (3) supplied small tie wraps, secure the antenna cable to the factory harness located within the A-pillar. NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, be careful not to place the tie wrap around the drain tube and the factory harness. D. Reassemble A-pillar trim panel. 10. Install warning label. A. Clean an area on the radiator support brace with an alcohol-based glass cleaning solution. WARNING: / AVERTISSEMENT This vehicle is equipped with a remote controlled engine starter.
