Applies to Models: 153800-020... 153800-021... Special Tools: none Language of origin: English Step 1: Identify Kit Components A) Familiarize yourself with the components you will be replacing. Note Right s are marked with RED. Step 2: Remove lids and move tubing to access delivery unit. A) Turn off air and water using the Shut Offs in the J-Box. B) Unplug Power Supply from electrical mains in the J-Box. C) Turn Water Bottle counter-clockwise to release the air pressure in the water tubing. D) Remove Magnetic Lid. E) Remove two screws and lift off the Metal Cover. F) Slide tubing out of each arm roller and allow handpieces (not shown) to hang over the back of the unit. G) Push arm forward to access screw, remove it and pull up to remove the arm. Remove all arms. H) Pull handpiece tubing from tower indentation; leave Strain Relief on tubing. Step 3: Remove the Top Cover Assembly. A) Remove ten screws from the bottom, then lift and rotate the Top Cover Assembly forward. B) Unplug all wiring connections from the ICM (Integration Control Module ). Tip: Leave all tubing connected to the actuators. C) Remove two screws and lift out the first actuator. D) Rotate the actuator lever backwards. E) Turn the actuator counter-clockwise so that you can work the actuator free from the linkage for positions 1, 2 & 3. You will turn the actuator clockwise to work it free of the linkage for positions 4, 5 & 6. F) Remove all the actuators. ICM Top Cover Assembly 3
Step 4: Remove the Tower Assembly. A) Remove two screws from the bottom side of the Tower Assembly. B) Remove two screws from the top side of the Tower Assembly. C) Remove two screws from the Tower Assembly mount plate. D) Lift off the Tower Assembly with the Mount Plate. Tower Assembly Mount Plate 4
Step 5: Access the Spring Bearing Rockers. A) Rotate Tower Assembly 180 to access the screws on the bottom. Tip: Cut a 1-1/2 x 15 inch slot into a box and use to support the Tower Assembly as you work on the bottom of it. B) Make note of the Tension Adjustment for each position, then turn all screws to the LOW tension (screw fully IN) setting. (Use chart on the next page.) C) Remove 10 screws and the Mount Plate. D) Make note of which positions have linkages, then remove each one by rotating the Bearing Rocker until you can work the linkage free of it (See F.) E) Remove 8 screws and the tension plate (Only remove the Tension Plate on the side of the Bearing Rocker(s) you are replacing.) F) Remove and discard the Spring Bearing Rocker you are replacing. G) Repeat until all of the Spring Bearing Rockers are replaced. Step 6: Reassemble the Tower with the new Spring Bearing Rockers in place. A) Reference Steps 5 through 3, working in reverse to reassemble the Tower Assembly with the new Spring Bearing Rockers in place. B) Be sure to return the linkages and adjust the tension at each handpiece position to their original settings. Place an X in the chart below to note high or low tension and or No for each handpiece position. Position 1 2 2 4 5 6 High Tension Low Tension No Installation Tips: The Arm Mounting Screw Access should face the Strain Relief Cutout. Rotate the Spring Bearing Rocker a little to install linkages. Step 7: Replace Covers. A) Route handpiece tubing through each arm roller. B) Install zip ties below the Strain Reliefs to help keep handpieces aligned across the front of the unit. C) Install the Metal Cover back onto the unit with two screws. D) Install the Magnetic Cover back onto the unit. E) Make certain that the water bottle is pressurized (turned clockwise fully). F) Turn ON air and water Shut-Offs in the J-box. G) Plug the Power Supply into the electrical mains. H) Turn the Master Switch ON and pull each handpiece individually to verify operation.
