HDMS Esbern Snare (L17) HDMS Esbern Snare is an Absalon-class flexible support ship and is with her length of 137 meters and a full load displacement of 6.300 tons along with her sister ship the HDMS Absalon the largest combat vessels currently commissioned in the Royal Danish Navy. The ship was launched in June 2004 and commissioned in February 2005. The ship can be equipped for naval warfare, land attack, strategic sealift missions or as a command platform. It can also be configured as hospital ships or for emergency disaster relief. The 900 square meter deck inside the ship can carry e.g. six Leopard II main battle tanks, a fully operational hospital, or 300 fully equipped soldiers. The helicopter hangar can accommodate two EH101 helicopters and the cargo deck carries two insertion crafts for insertion of Special Operations Forces. HDMS Esbern Snare has in recent years been the flagship of NATO s counter-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden.
What to See and Experience Onboard DESMI is producing pumps for Industry, Utility, Maritime and Naval purposes as well as systems for Oil Spill response. We have made the pumps for Danish Naval ships for several decades. As we come from a nation with smaller budgets and as we are competitive with our pumps in other civil and Maritime segments we are able to produce very competitive pumping solutions for Naval purposes. On board ESBERN SNARE we will be able to show our pumps installed. We will also be showing our solutions for Oil Spill Cleaning. DESMI have supplied this kind of equipment to the USA for many years and is also proud to having been able to supply solutions for the clean up in the Mexican Gulf recently. Hydrema will together with other Danish Companies introduce the new Danish "Green Container Concept" during Esbern Snares stay in US and Canada. The concept is based on a 10 feet container that to a large extend is powered by solar cells, windmill and generator that produces power for a battery pack that can keep the container in full operational capacity for up to 48 hours even though the power system is off. The demonstrator is in this case a full operational radio maintenance facility that are developed together with the US Radio producer Harris Radios from Rochester, the first of its kind in the world. Hydrema will also show posters from the newly started Mine Clearing Vehicles Project where Hydrema act as a Supplier to the US Army, and there will be a chance to discuss other solutions for different construction equipment, dump trucks and loader excavators armoured as well as unarmoured. Come and meet us onboard the ship, under the motto: Nothing is impossible, it just takes a little bit longer. Logimatic is a Danish engineering and software company with solid global experience in development and implementation of proprietary software and automation solutions.
Specifically Logimatic has a vast experience in supplying IPMS (Integrated Platform Management System) for navy vessels. For reference Logimatic has supplied IPMS for the Danish flexible support ships the Absalon Class as well as for the Danish frigates the Iver Huitfeld Class. MAN Diesel & Turbo is the world s leading designer of large-bore diesel engines, propulsion systems, propellers and controls. For recent Royal Danish Navy vessels, the following key propulsion equipment is supplied: MAN Alpha Propellers for 3 multi-role Frigates (IVER HUITFELDT class), MAN Alpha Propellers for 2 Combat Support Ships (ABSALON class) and MAN main engines, Renk gearbox and an MAN Alpha Propeller for 2 Offshore Patrol Vessels (KNUD RASMUSSEN class). Onboard HDMS ESBERN SNARE of the ABSALON class, we shall be pleased to present the twin-screw propeller and shafting system. Mil-tek air-powered balers are perfect solutions for the US Defense industry including the offshore environment where a steady flow of plastic and/or cardboard waste is produced The low energy, small footprint balers use constant pressure to produce dense manageable bales. Once baled, packaging waste can be stored on land or on-vessel saving time and space. The baled cardboard/plastic can then be removed on-shore and recycled by a local approved recycler, reducing cost, complying with offshore waste legislation and meeting environmental initiatives. Small Footprint Trash Compactors can also reduce general trash volume produced up to a rate of 10:1, reducing waste costs dramatically and removing the need for constant vehicle security checks by the same ratio. This solution also offers a valuable space saving on vessel. Contact us at www.miltekusa.com or call toll free +1 877 6 MILTEK (645835) for a free waste audit and trial.
Odense Maritime Technology (OMT) is an independent spin-off company from the now closed Odense Steel Shipyard. OMT has been granted the right to use and marked the design, procurement and production knowledge derived from 90 years of shipbuilding experience, including the design and production of two Flexible Support Vessels and three Frigates for the Royal Danish Navy, all delivered from 2004-2011. At ESBERN SNARE (Flexible Support Vessel) OMT will present the vessel, including the unique commercial based cooperation model which was adopted between the Shipyard and the Navy, and which resulted in extremely well performing and flexible vessels at a cost level second to none and within a timeframe of only four years from contract to delivery.
