1. Dislodge both rear side panels to gain access to rear taillights. Remove (1) plastic rivet on driver side of the vehicle. 2. Remove (2) plastic trunk stops by turning counter clock wise. 8mm s 3. Use a socket to remove (2) nuts securing the tail light. (per side) Unplug the wiring harness from the tail light by pushing down on the clips and pulling away from the light. Plastic Pry Tools 4. Slide the tail lights toward the rear of the vehicle. A plastic pry tool can be used, if necessary. 5. Use a socket to remove screw. 10mm Page 2 of 7
6. Remove (3) plastic rivets in the rear wheel well. Remove (1) screw with a torx. T25 Torx 7. Use a 90 degree pick to dislodge (2) plastic covers. Remove (7) screws from the gravel guard trim. Remove (1) plastic rivet. 10mm Plastic Pry Tool 8. With a partner starting above the wheel well at the forward most part of the fascia and apply outward pressure moving toward the rear of the vehicle, push down on the plastic clips to release fascia. 9. Unplug sensor plug on passenger side, before removing the fascia completely. A 90 degree pick can be used to open the clip and remove the plug. PLACE THE FASCIA ON A PAD OR BLANKET TO PREVENT DAMAGE OR SCRATCHES. Page 3 of 7
10mm Well Extension 10. Remove (5) screws from plastic trim piece to gain access to reinforcement beam base plate. 11. Remove (6) nuts securing the factory reinforcement beam. Remove reinforcement beam and SAVE for reinstallation. Well 12. Remove (8) nuts securing the factory reinforcement beam base plate. Remove reinforcement beam base plate and discard. SAVE the nuts for the hitch installation. Well (8) Rubber Washer 13. Clean the surface area before installing the hitch. Place (8) supplied Rubber washers on the factory studs before installing hitch beam. Secure the (4) inner vehicle studs with saved nuts. Torque to 45 ft. lbs. 45 ft. lbs. 45 ft. lbs. Page 4 of 7
3/4 14. Assemble the latching mechanism. Use a 3/4 Open End Wrench torque wrench and an open end 3/4 wrench to tighten the supplied, 1/2 bolts to 90 ft. lbs. Well 15. Use (6) M10 bolts, washers and nuts to secure factory reinforcement wide beam brackets, loosely to the factory reinforce- Slim ment beam. 17mm socket (Make sure the wide part of the factory reinforcement beam is on top) Tab is the top wide Slim 16. Install the factory rein- Well forcement beam with brackets to the hitch beam. Secure the (4) outer vehicle studs with saved nuts. Torque to 45 ft. lbs. Tighten (6) reinforce- ment beam M10 nuts. Torque to 45 ft. lbs. 45 ft lbs Page 5 of 7
CUT OUT LOCATION (INSIDE VIEW) SEE CUT OUT TEMPLATE ATTACHED Dremel Tool 16. Cut out location see cut out template attached (page.7). Cut out the fascia with File Dremel tool. Use a file to smooth out the cut. 17. Reinstall the fascia. Complete steps 1 through 10 in reverse order, to complete the installation. Page 6 of 7
