Program History City Council initiated iti t a study that t indicated transportation blight 2001 - Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area was created and validated Plan and Strategies Documented Area Boundary Established (2200 ac) The City Council, sitting as Ex-Officio Governing body, directs all redevelopment efforts Front Beach Road CRA does not include the Pier Park CRA

CRA Program Objectives Create a walkable community with extensive sidewalks, bike paths, enhanced streetscapes and people friendly areas Improve mobility along Front Beach Road and the connector roads Provide better beach access and increased public parking Establish efficient and practical funding to properly p implement the objectives Encourage private/public partnerships Develop programs to encourage economic development and revitalization

Why Do We Need Transit System? Existing TCEA = Density Projected annual visitors at build-out is 8.5 Million New Pier Park Mall New International Airport Thousands of workers, limited it parking on FBR Congestion nearly closes Front Beach Road now during tourist season No transit can currently operate during season, as it can t hold to a schedule Walkable Downtown = good business

PCB Permanent Service Thomas Drive to DeLuna (8 Miles) 15 minute frequencies 16 hr day 7 days/week 5 Trams, 3 Transit Vehicles needed 75/45 passenger capacity Approximately 44 stops served
