1. Hood Switch Installation. a. Place the Vehicle in Park with the Parking Brake set. b. Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal. Protect the Fender. Note the Battery Cable Position as it will be re-installed in the same position. CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. Make sure to not bend the Hood Switch Lever. If the Hood Switch is broken RES will not function. Make sure the Hood Switch Lever is positioned properly. If the Hood Switch is Broken RES will not function. c. Connect the V4 Hood Switch to the Vehicle s Hood Latch. CAUTION: Make sure the Hood Switch Lever is under the Latch Lever. d. Connect the Hood Switch Harness to the Hood Switch. Page 6 of 35

2. Vehicle Disassembly. a. Remove the Passenger s Step Cover. b. Remove the Passenger s Cowl Cover. Remove 1 Nut. c. Remove the Glove Box Under Cover. Page 9 of 35

Connect the V4 18P Connectors in between the Junction box and the Vehicle s 18P Connector. c. Secure the 18P Connectors and the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. V4/V5 ADD-ON ONLY d. Cut the Wire Tie securing the V5 18P Connectors. e. Disconnect the Vehicle s 18P Connector from the V5 18P Connector. f. Connect the V4 18P Connectors in between the V5 Harness and the Vehicle s 18P Connector. g. Bundle up both sets of connectors and secure them and the V4/V5 Harnesses to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Page 13 of 35

k. Un-tape the V4 Red-White Wire. l. Attach it to the Red Wire on the Vehicle s 19P Connector with 1 Splicing Connector. m. Reinstall the Vehicle Connector n. Secure the V4 Red-White Wire to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. o. Secure the V4 Red Wire to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Page 15 of 35

c. Disconnect the Vehicle s Blue Connector. d. Route the V4 Harness over the Vehicle Brace. e. Secure the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 2 Wire Ties. f. Re-connect the Vehicle s Blue Connector from Step c. 6. Hood Switch Harness Routing. CAUTION: DO NOT CUT ANY VEHICLE WIRES OR THE FLUID HOSE. a. Reach behind the strut and cut the Large Nipple on the Grommet. Page 17 of 35

b. Route the Wire Routing Tool as shown. c. Insert the Wire Routing tool through the new opening in the grommet. d. Secure the Pin Terminals from the Hood Switch Harness to the Wire Routing Tool with Electrical Tape. CAUTION: Be sure not to damage the Pin Terminals. e. Pull the Wire Routing Tool and the Hood Switch Harness through the Grommet. f. Remove the tape securing the Hood Switch Harness to the Wire Routing Tool. CAUTION: Be sure not to damage the Pin Terminals. Page 18 of 35

g. Using 1/2 Piece of Butyl Tape, fill the opening of the Grommet. h. Disconnect the Empty 2P Connector from the V4 Harness. i. Lift up the Terminal Retainer Clip. Do not Remove the Clip. j. Insert the Terminal on the WHITE/BLACK Wire of the Hood Switch Harness into the Connector. k. Insert the Terminal on the GREEN/RED Wire of the Hood Switch Harness into the Connector. VERIFY: Pins Terminals are properly inserted and do not come out. Close the Terminal Retainer Clip. Page 19 of 35

l. Re-connect the V4 2P Connectors. m. Wrap the Connectors in 1/2 Piece of Medium Foam Tape. n. Bundle up the excess Hood Switch Harness and secure it with the 2P Connectors to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. 7. RES and Gateway ECU s Preparation / Installation. VERIFY: How Relay is secured to the vehicle. If secured by a bracket, stop RES installation as it is not compatible with this vehicle. If secured by a Clip, continue steps below. a. Remove the Vehicle Relay. b. Disconnect the Vehicle Connector from the Relay. Page 20 of 35

c. Remove the Vehicle Clip from the Vehicle s Relay. d. Install the Clip provided in the TVIP V4 Kit to the Relay. e. Attach the Gateway ECU Bracket to the Gateway ECU. f. Apply 3/4 Piece of Large Foam Tape to the Gateway ECU. g. Connect the V4 5P Connector to the Gateway ECU. Page 21 of 35

h. Install the Gateway ECU with 1 Bolt. i. Re-connect the Vehicle s Relay to the Vehicle Harness. j. Attach the Vehicle Relay to the hole on the Gateway ECU Mounting Bracket. k. Attach the RES ECU Mounting Bracket to the RES ECU. l. Attach 1 Piece of Large Foam to the back of the RES ECU. m. Attach 1 Piece of Large Foam to the top of the ECU as shown. n. Apply one Piece of Butyl Tape as shown. NOTE: Do not remove the Protective Backing from both sides of the Butyl Tape. Page 22 of 35

o. Plug the V4 20P and 8P Connectors into the RES ECU. p. Remove the Protective Backing from the Butyl Tape. q. Install the RES ECU to the Vehicle using 1 Bolt. CAUTION: Make sure that the Guide Pin seats properly. 8. V4 Harness Installation. (Continued) a. Locate and remove the Tape securing the Vehicle s 3P White Pre-Connector to the Vehicle Harness. b. Connect the V4 3P White Connector to the Vehicle s 3P White Pre-Connector. Page 23 of 35

c. Secure the 3P Connectors and the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. d. Route the V4 Harness downward securing it to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. e. Secure the Male 1P White Connector the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. CAUTION: Do not secure the Female 1P Connector or the Bundled Wire. Page 24 of 35

9. Registration Preparation. a. Partially reassemble the Vehicle except for the PS Cowl and Step covers. Verify: That all Connectors are plugged in. Verify: That panels fit together properly, with no uneven gaps. r. Verify that the Short Pin is Installed. If not Install now. 10. Registration a. Open the Hood. b. Temporarily reconnect the Negative Battery Cable. CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. Page 25 of 35

Fig. 10-2 c. Locate the 1P RES Diagnostic Connectors in the Passenger s Side Cowl Area and connect them. NOTE: Once connected you will have 10 minutes to complete this section, steps d y. Fig. 10-3 d. Close all doors. e. Place the Vehicle in Park (P) or Neutral (N) position. f. With the Smart Key in your possession, cycle the Engine Start Stop Button from OFF to ON 5 times. NOTE: One cycle consists of: OFF Accessory ON. This is equivalent to pressing the Engine Start Stop Button 14 times. LOOK: for the Hazard Lights to Flash once. Fig. 10-4 g. Start the Engine. h. After 10 seconds stop the Engine. LOOK: For the Hazard Lights to flash Once. IF THIS FAILED The Hazard Lights flash Three Times. Disconnect the V4 Harness s 1P RES Diagnostic Connectors. Start again from step c. Page 26 of 35

CAUTION: Techstream Lite will not work for this section, use the Techstream Notebook ONLY. i. Connect the Techstream Notebook to the Vehicle s Diagnostic Port. j. With the Smart Key in your possession, press the Engine Start Stop Button twice to select the Ignition ON position. Fig. 10-6 k. Start the TIS Techstream Application by clicking on the shortcut located on the Desktop. l. Click Connect to Vehicle. Fig. 10-7 m. Confirm that the information displayed on the Vehicle Connection Wizard is correct for the vehicle. If not verify that the Techstream is properly connected. n. Select w/smart Key. o. Click Next>. Disconnect the V4 Harness s 1P RES Diagnostic Connectors. Start again from step c. ac. After a successful Registration Disconnect the 1P RES Diagnostic Connectors. ad. Using Electrical Tape secure the Female Connector and Harness to the Vehicle Harness. Page 30 of 35

CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. Clear Tape Fig. 11-2 c. Using VDC approved cleaner and cleaning method, clean the indicated area on the key. d. Use a piece of Clear Tape to lift the label off its protective backing. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. e. Attach the Key Label as shown. f. Attach the Key Tag. REPEAT: steps c f with the other Key. g. Use Household Glass Cleaner to clean the inside of the Front Door Window. h. Use a piece of Clear Tape to lift the Label from the protective backing. Position the Negative Battery Cable at the original factory position. Tighten the Nut to 36 in lbf (4.07 N m) CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. c. Clean up and Remove trash. d. Sealed in its protective bag, place the Owner s Manual in the Glovebox. e. Reset the power windows. Turn the ignition ON. Lower the Windows halfway. Pull up on the Power Window Switches until the windows close. Continue to hold up on the switches for a minimum of 1 Second. f. Reset the Moon Roof. Open the Moon Roof halfway. Push and hold the Moon Roof Switch to close until the Moon Roof closes. Continue to hold the switch for a minimum of 1 Second. g. Reset the tailgate door. Push door lock control switch to the unlock side. Pull up tailgate door handle. Page 32 of 35

CHECKLIST these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Accessory Function Checks Close the hood, enter the vehicle and close all doors. Place the shift lever in the P (Park) position, set the parking brake and make sure the Vehicle is off. Perform 1 Press the remote control s lock button twice within 2 seconds, then press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds. 2 With the engine running, pull the hood release handle. NOTE: Some Vehicles may require you to exit the Vehicle and pull up on the Hood. 3 Move the shift lever out of P (Park). Attempt to start the Vehicle using the remote. Look For The hazard lights flash after 3 seconds. The engine starts. The hazard lights flash repeatedly for 10 seconds. The engine stops. The hazard lights flash once. The security alarm triggers. (Only if equipped with OE Factory Alarm, not Genuine Accessory alarm, and only if armed) The engine does not start. Vehicle Appearance Check Perform After accessory installation and removal of protective cover(s), perform a visual inspection of the vehicle.
