Spray Height Control Systems Unprecedented spray height accuracy combined with the control you need. Guaranteed.
NORAC pioneered the use of ultrasonic technology for agricultural equipment and offers the most advanced spray height control systems on the market. NORAC s Spray Height Control Systems use ultrasonic sensors mounted on the left, right and center sections to automatically maintain a preset height of the entire boom above the ground or crop. Fast and Reliable For farm operators and custom applicators, speed can have a major impact on the bottom line. Manual operation of a sprayer in uneven field terrain may require reduced operating speeds for continual boom adjustments. Using sensor data, NORAC s Spray Height Control system makes responsive height adjustments allowing booms to automatically follow the contours of the land. Sensor Smarts Ultrasonic sensor hardware and software is designed by NORAC specifically for sprayer boom height control applications. The ultrasonic signals can distinguish the difference between the ground and standing crop or field residue. Boom height is controlled by choosing Soil Mode or Crop Mode which senses the soil surface or the top of the crop. Roll Compensation The NORAC Spray Height Control systems allow for effective control of the boom without altering the boom from its original engineered design. The patented Roll Control technology allows the NORAC system to monitor and compensate for boom center section roll. Reduce Stress and Avoid Boom Damage The NORAC system takes control of managing the boom by monitoring field contours and making constant boom adjustments. Using NORAC s Spray Height Control reduces the need for the operator to move their head back and forth to monitor changes in field terrain, thereby reducing stress and fatigue. This allows the operator to focus on proper coverage and safety.
The NORAC Advantage More Efficient Use of Chemicals The NORAC UC4+ and UC5 Spray Height Control systems maintains the boom at an entered preset height. Maintaining spray nozzles at the recommended spray tip height allows chemical to be applied using an optimum spray pattern allowing even application and reducing drift. Accurate, Smooth Control The UC4+ and UC5 systems use the stepless output of proportional valves for each wing providing a more uniform method of boom control. NORAC supplied proportional valves ensure that height corrections are smooth, even, and automatic. Spray Day or Night NORAC s ultrasonic sensors do not need light to measure boom height. Take advantage of favorable spraying conditions by extending working hours well into the night with the ability to spray any time. Warranty and Satisfaction Guarantee The NORAC UC4+ and UC5 Spray Height Control systems are backed by a comprehensive one year warranty and with a completed registration form, customers receive system software updates free of charge for two years. In addition, NORAC is the only company that offers a 100% satisfaction or your money back guarantee. I would say I am spraying about 30% faster... simply because I m confident it s not waving about or hitting the ground. In fact, because the boom is so stable, it s tempting to drive too fast. Steve Heard Billsdon, Leicester UK
Smart Software Automatically maintains a preset tip height above the ground or crop (Soil Mode / Crop Mode). Controls all geometries of the boom. Communicates hydraulic valve activity (up [ ] or down [ ]). May be overridden using existing in-cab controls. Indicates whether the system is in Automatic or Manual mode. Adjusts your spray nozzle height on-the-go with the push of a button. Shows the height that the nozzles tips are from either the top of the crop or the soil. Quick and easy to use with NORAC s automated setup and user-friendly interface. On all sprayers, Automatic Headland Mode is available for controlling boom height on headlands. UC5 system is available through a number of virtual terminals and displays. UC4+ Display Ultrasonic Sensor and Break-Away Bracket Rugged, Reliable Non-Contact Ultrasonic Sensors Rugged aluminum sensors are designed for trouble free use. Internal electronics are epoxy sealed making them virtually impervious to moisture damage. The sensor senses changes in height to the nearest half inch or to the nearest centimeter. Break-away brackets have been designed to provide superior protection to the sensors. The spring loaded mounting bracket will bend back approximately 90 degrees. Sensors are able to distinguish four different targets simultaneously including differentiating ground surface from standing crop or field residue.
Spray Height Control Features & Options Roll Control Technology Roll Sensors are used to measure the roll in the center section. This enables the system to predict the effects of boom and chassis roll on boom height and compensate for it. The technology manages boom stability by preventing one boom s action from affecting the other and allows the boom roll suspension to perform as designed without interference. Proportional Valves A separate NORAC designed proportional valve is used for each wing to ensure smooth independent hydraulic control. Automatic oil temperature monitoring and compensation for superior performance. Load sensing and closed center models are available. Proportional Valve Block Active Roll Control Kit (Standard on all 120 Hagie Sprayers) Active Roll Control enables the sprayer to go over severe terrain by rolling the center section, as well as controlling wing lift. Spray height is maintained, even in the most severe conditions. Rotating and controlling the center section also increases the wing lift speed. Optional Severe Terrain Package By installing this package an operator adds a second sensor to each wing. This sensor is normally mounted half way down the boom and provides average height for each boom, as well as a minimum height override. This option is helpful in any one or a combination of the following situations: Boom lengths longer than 90 ft. (27 m) Land with sharp knolls such as terraces Spraying in fall crop where there are thin or lodged areas This package includes two ultrasonic sensors, two break-away brackets, and all required cables and hardware. Too often I will purchase a new product and the manufacturer never wants to hear from me again. This is not the case with NORAC. Charles Miller Bynum, TX U.S.A.
