electric infrastructure solutions

Why does the e-mobility boom start right now? Growing awareness among policy makers, energy suppliers, automotive manufacturers and customers Subsidies are provided by the government: 300 million for the development of the charging infrastructure and 1.2 billion for e-cars* Dieselgate as a catalyst for the energy revolution in the automotive world Tesla shows the way into the age of the e-car. German automakers are now following with strategies for e-mobility (e.g. Daimler invests 10 bn. in e-mobility and Daimler, VW, BMW and Ford founded a charging infrastructure alliance) The legal framework is being tightened (e.g. EU regulation that CO 2 emissions should be reduced to an average of 95 g/km by 2020) Fine dust alarm and driving bans are under discussion Battery technology: Declining prices and increasing range of batteries make e-cars ready for the mass market 2

Segments of future charging infrastructure Destination Charging Home Charging Public Charging DC Charging 3

Current and future charging hardware offline online 4

Authentification User can download apps and use their smartphone Charging sessions can be started via QR code RFID cards / employee s identity card can be used to start charging sessions In the future, the communication will be done directly between electric car & charging station (ISO 15118 Standard) 5

Payment Pay the charging session via an app and a contract with an EMP Pay the charging session via QR code and directly with paypal or credit card (no contract) Pay the charging session with your RFID card prvided by an EMP (with contract) In the future, the payment can be done directly between electric car & charging station (ISO 15118 Standard) 6
