The San Diego Corvair Club Monthly Newsletter April 2013 CORSA Chapter 921 Vol. 39, No. 4 Looking at a New Club Website Brought up at the March meeting were concerns about our website, SDCorvair.com. Much of it is out of date and our webmaster is no longer a member of the club. Royce Hildreth is still working with our Corvaircenter.com and handling the advertising on it. But, his business and family responsibilities preclude his having much to do with the SDCorvair website. Carlos Cabral said he can look at getting a new one set up, but we may need to change our domain name. (maybe just add club onto it?) We should contact Royce Hildreth to find out about that. It would be nice to be able to keep the original name, though. A new, active administrator would allow us to present a cleaner, more timely face to the Corvair family for our club. With the appropriate server, we could post the Vairmail and pictures of club events for those who can t attend, among other relative events. Thanks, Carlos, for getting involved. Hope You Got Your Calendar Set Saturday, April 20 will be our second mid-year swap meet. Mike Rodgers has contacted the local(?) clubs ~ as local as Phoenix ~ to let them in on the event. He notes there has been return contact, and that bodes well for us. But I neglected to include the address on the flyer for those who want to plug it into their GPS s. For everyone not familiar with the restaurant, or needing a GPS address, here it is ~ Rainbow Oaks Restaurant, 4815 5th Street, Rainbow, CA 92028. You ain t gonna convince anyone in that town that they live in Fallbrook! Rainbow Oaks Restaurant is just off the corner of 5th and Old Highway 395. We ll be in the back. The club has decided on holding both a 50/50 Raffle and an hourly raffle. The latter, of course, depends on the donations from the club members. I have a couple of prizes I ve won at other meets and never used, plus a few things that have showed up over time. If you have some new parts or car stuff we d love to get them; just get hold of Mike Rodgers, drmikedc@cox.net or one of the other board members.
