BEFORE WARNING Read this user and maintenance manual carefully before carrying out any operations. Keep these instructions in a safe place where they are easily accessible for future reference. The EC400 swivel base has been designed for the purposes described in this manual. The company FADIEL ITALIANA s.r.l. shall assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect damage caused by improper use of the device, failure to respect and/or wrongful interpretation of these instructions. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT The EC400 swivel base is a motorised rotating lifting device on 3 axes designed to make transferring into and out of a vehicle easier for people with disabilities. The EC400 may be installed indifferently on a front or rear seat, on the right or on the left of a vehicle depending on the user s requirements. The EC400 may be fitted with a customised seat to optimise its performance. GENERAL SAFETY RULES Be careful not to knock against the EC400 swivel base with any parts of the body, clothing or any other objects whilst it is being used. Pay special attention when children and animals are present. Pay particular care when the EC400 swivel base swings out and retracts, that the user s head does not hit the vehicle door upright. 3 of 10

FUNCTION MODE The EC400 standard version comes with a push-button panel attached to the vehicle by a cable. A wireless push-button panel can be supplied on request. For safety reasons, the EC400 may only be activated when the engine is switched off. For the safety of the user, we recommend the hand brake is applied every time the Ec400 device is used and, when the vehicle is parked on a slope, to place safety chocks under the wheels. WARNING: to enable the seat to move out of the vehicle, the backrest must be in the upright position. The push-button panel must be placed in its protective case when not being used, to avoid the EC400 being activated by mistake. THE DEVICE CAN FUNCTION IN 2 MODES: 1) Automatic mode with door open 2) Automatic mode with door closed 1) FUNCTIONING IN AUTOMATIC MODE WITH DOOR OPEN This function controls the complete cycle of the EC400 swivel base transferring out of and into the vehicle in steps. When the system is switched on, the control board will emit 3 bips, which indicate it is functioning in automatic mode with door open. PUSH-BUTTON 1: EC400 seat transferring out cycle 1) Unfasten seat belt 2) Press push-button 1 and keep depressed: the EC400 automatically performs all the steps necessary to transfer the user out of the car. Release push-button to interrupt movement. PUSH-BUTTON 2: EC400 seat transferring in cycle 1) Press push-button 2 and keep depressed: the EC400 automatically performs all the steps necessary to transfer the user into the car. Release push-button to interrupt movement. IMPORTANT: mind the head when entering the vehicle. 4 of 10

2) FUNCTIONING IN AUTOMATIC MODE WITH DOOR CLOSED This function controls sliding of the EC400 swivel base into the vehicle only when the control panel is switched on. When the system is switched on, the control board will emit 1 bip, which indicates it is functioning in automatic mode with door closed. PUSH-BUTTON 1: sliding forwards command Press push-button 1 and keep depressed the EC400 forwards. PUSH-BUTTON 2: sliding back command Press push-button 2 and keep depressed to slide the EC400 backwards. PUSH-BUTTON 3: memorise command Press push-button 3 and keep depressed for 20 seconds (until an acoustic signal of 1 bip sounds) to memorise the sliding point. Every time mode is changed from open door to closed door, the EC400 will automatically position itself in the memorised point. PUSH-BUTTON 4: no function MOVING FROM AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL MODE Press keys 2 and 1 on the push-button panel in sequence for about 15 seconds. Release the keys when 1 bip acoustic signal sounds. If the control board emits 2 bips when the keys are released, then the device is in manual mode. WARNING: use this manual command procedure if the EC400 does not function properly in automatic mode. If necessary, contact the installer. MOVING FROM MANUAL TO AUTOMATIC MODE Press keys 2 and 1 on the push-button panel in sequence for about 15 seconds. Release the keys when the 1 bip acoustic signal sounds. If the control board emits 3 bips when they are released, then the device is in automatic mode. 5 of 10
