Special Tools Needed Quantity 1 Torque Wrench Description 1 1/4 in. (6 mm) Blade Screwdriver 2 Adjustable Wrenches 1 Tape Measure or Other Measuring Device Standard Installation of M91xx and M9216 Series Electric Actuators A standard installation is one where there is ample space available for actuator removal. For M9106 Series Electric Actuators, at least 3-11/16 in. (94 mm) of space is required. For all other M9100 Series Electric Actuators, at least 3-1/2 in. (89 mm) of space is required. For M9216 Series Electric Actuators, at least 4-1/2 in. (114 mm) of space is required. To perform a standard installation, refer to Figure 1 and proceed as follows: preset at the factory. For the M9000-512 Linkage Kit, the slider is preset to allow 4-19/32 in. (117 mm) from the centerline of the drive shaft to the outermost edge of the tab. For the M9000-510 and M9000-511 Linkage Kits, this dimension is 5-11/32 in. (136 mm). 2. To field install an M91xx Series Electric Actuator, proceed to Step 3. To field install an M9216 Series Electric Actuator, readjust the slider position to 7-1/2 in. (191 mm). Secure the slider to the mounting bracket using a 1/4 in. (6 mm) blade screwdriver and the two M5 x 7 mm machine screws provided. Tighten these screws to a torque of 21 lb in (2.4 N m). As an alternative, use the actuator as a template to properly position the anti-rotation slider. 2002 Johnson Controls, Inc. 1 Part No. 14-1201-13, Rev. B www.johnsoncontrols.com
