Engine Compartment Disassembly NOTE: Before starting the installation, check the function of the vehicle (horn, lights, etc.) for proper operation, and study the instructions, illustrations, & diagrams. Perform the Following:. Disconnect battery. 2. Drain radiator. 3. Remove grille (retain).. Remove radiator cap and upper radiator panel (retain). 5. Remove radiator (retain radiator lower mounting tab bolts). Fan Shroud Assembly. Connect fan shroud bracket assemblies as shown in Photo, below. 2. Apply a silicone-based sealant on the fan shroud center brace bracket assembly, and then place the silicone U-channel onto the center brace bracket assembly (See Photo 2, below). Radiator Modification. Place fan shroud assembly on top of radiator. Then, using () holes on the fan shroud assembly, center punch or scribe marks through the holes onto the radiator side flange. 2. Remove fan shroud assembly and drill.50 (#25) holes through center-punched or scribed marks on radiator side flanges. Fan Shroud Assembly Installation. Attach shroud assembly to radiator using () supplied #0 sheet metal screws (See Photo 5, below). 2. Install () /2 plugs into holes (See Photo 6, below). Dual Fan Wiring Harness Installation. Use butt connectors to connect the white ground wires and purple wires as shown below. Crimp butt connectors with proper crimp tool. NOTE: Butt connectors are heat shrink type. Once crimped, shrink over wires with heat gun. 2. Use () male and () female terminal connectors to connect the trinary switch as shown in the wiring diagram below. Crimp terminal connectors with proper crimp tool. 3. Plug the fan connectors into the fans.. Wire according to the wiring diagram below.
